When I returned to Military Division , I discovered that the most important reason why I was asked to return to the army early was to prepare for the Shenyang Military Region's random exam. I don’t know whether it was luck or misfortune, but I was identified as one of the candidates for the exam. The subjects were military knowledge and high-tech knowledge, and all required was rote memorization.
This reminds me of China’s exam-oriented education that has lasted for thousands of years. Regardless of whether you are really knowledgeable or not, as long as you have excellent test scores, everything is negotiable. Learning is not a panacea, and scores are the only motivation for students to strive. For example, this high-tech knowledge test is somewhat funny. If you memorize by rote for three to five days and forget after taking the exam, how can you talk about strengthening the army through science and technology? How to win the local war of and under high-tech conditions? Everything seems to be deceiving oneself and others, and the scientific and technological military training that is highly praised in the newspapers is even more confusing. It makes people unable to distinguish between east, west, north and south. They are engaged in scientific and technological military training, and they cannot come up with new methods that can truly generate combat effectiveness. A few innovative equipment, a few so-called new technologies that are insignificant and insignificant, and even a multimedia courseware have become achievements and even a model. Although he was saying "nonsense" in his heart, he attached great importance to his face: good, really good, really not simple.
Of course, it is useless to talk about so much nonsense. The reality is that there is no other way. Now I just hope that the higher-level agencies will be more pragmatic and conduct less on-the-spot assessments and inspections, which will be of great benefit to army building.
