On December 26, the world's first C919, which was recently received by China Eastern Airlines, began a total of 100 hours of verification flights to comprehensively test the reliability of 's systems to prepare for C919 commercial operations, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent smooth launch of commercial passenger flights. On that day, the first verification flight, flight number MU7801, took off successfully from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport at 13:25 and landed safely at Beijing Capital International Airport.
With China Eastern Airlines successfully taking delivery of the world's first C919, the domestic large aircraft business has shifted from the "first half" of R&D and manufacturing to the "second half" of commercial operations.
If a domestic large aircraft has completed the airworthiness certification of the Civil Aviation Administration of China and obtained a certificate issued by the CAAC, it is a sign that the development company has passed the "first half"; then, for airlines as users of domestic large aircraft, whether the "second half" can start smoothly, the 100-hour empty aircraft verification flight and the Civil Aviation Administration's certification inspection of the verification results are the key links.
The verification flight is mainly to verify the airline's ability to safely operate the C919 aircraft. It mainly includes the applicability and operability of the policies, standards, regulations and procedures formulated by China Eastern Airlines in the early stage of the aircraft model. It also verifies the support capabilities of the airline's various professional systems and whether various professionals have the ability to safely operate the C919. This ensures that the airline can provide a good flight experience for the majority of passengers after the domestically produced large aircraft enters commercial operation, making C919 commercial flights safer and more efficient.
As the first user, China Eastern Airlines will also provide the large amount of data and operational support experience accumulated from verification flights to relevant departments to help the new aircraft model continue to be optimized and improved.

China Eastern Airlines introduced that this 100-hour verification flight will last until mid-February 2023, and the airports taking off and landing involve 9 provinces and cities and 10 airports. On each verification flight day, the C919 aircraft will take off from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, fly to Beijing Capital, Beijing Daxing, Chengdu Tianfu, Xi'an, Haikou, Qingdao , Wuhan, Nanchang , Jinan and other destinations, and return to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport on the same day. The verification flight requires simulating the entire flight operation process, including dispatch and release, passenger boarding, pilot operation, aircraft maintenance and other entire processes.
After the C919 completes the route verification flight, the Civil Aviation Administration of China will review and inspect the verification results. After confirming that China Eastern Airlines has the ability to safely operate the C919 aircraft, it will issue the corresponding operating license. China Eastern Airlines strives to officially put the C919 into commercial passenger operation in the spring of 2023. By then, C919 will appear on high-quality and boutique routes in Shanghai, Beijing, Xi'an, Kunming, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen and other places.
In order to complete the final sprint before the departure of commercial flights, in terms of personnel team, China Eastern Airlines has completed the first batch of aircraft type training for 9 pilots, 24 flight attendants, and 13 aircraft maintenance personnel. In addition to the second batch of key position personnel training currently underway, the number of relevant support personnel is sufficient to meet the initial verification flight needs.

The first batch of aviation materials purchase list and the first batch of tooling equipment list for the domestic aircraft maintenance department of China Eastern Airlines Technology Company have been confirmed and purchased. Faced with aircraft load balance, which is an important guarantee for safe operation, China Eastern Airlines' ground service department completed the calculation of the C919's center of gravity control and ballast weight. The comprehensive management department of China Eastern Airlines has carried out the first domestic C919 domestic large aircraft aviation fuel refueling operation training. A total of 150 aviation fuel staff and business representatives from all over the country participated in the online training. China Eastern Airlines is working hard to build the C919 into China Eastern Airlines' "star model" and "aerial business card", enhance the understanding and love of China Eastern Airlines C919 among passengers and the public, and help domestically produced large aircraft fly better and better.
