In June 1940, Liao Xilong was born in an ordinary family. At that time, the country was in a turbulent period of war and chaos. People's lives were not stable. Instead, they had to pay attention to the development of war every day, for fear that one day the ruthless artillery fire would come to their heads.
For the next nine years, the domestic war continued intermittently, and Liao Xilong’s deepest impression of this world was the loud bang of guns and the figures of soldiers.
For the young Liao Xilong, being able to become a soldier seems to be the most proud thing, and for many years thereafter, Liao Xilong has been working in this direction.
When Liao Xilong was 9 years old, the People's Republic of China was officially established. Since then, Liao Xilong began his life under the Red Banner. Like countless children at that time, he got the opportunity to go to school and gradually grew into a tough and sensible young man under systematic education, and he still had countless choices in his life.
Liao Xilong followed his wish that had been deeply rooted in his heart for many years and resolutely joined the military camp. He entered the army at the age of 19 and became a soldier. Since then, Liao Xilong has begun his long military career.
At the beginning, Liao Xilong was just an ordinary soldier in the army. But as time goes by, Liao Xilong gradually gained the favor of his superiors with his own efforts and courage.
He once won the first place in the Kunming Military Region in the entire army competition, and his position was gradually promoted to deputy regiment commander. But for Liao Xilong, the turning point in his life was not this, but in the later self-defense counterattack against Vietnam.
In the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam, Liao Xilong relied on his years of training and learning experience to calmly deal with difficulties in actual combat, find the enemy's weaknesses, and led his soldiers to stick to the battlefield. In the end, not only did they annihilate more than 300 enemies, but also seized a large amount of materials for our army, making a considerable contribution.
After this battle, Liao Xilong was promoted to regiment commander and continued to stick to the front line, leading the soldiers to win one battle after another. There is no doubt that Liao Xilong is a general who came out of actual combat.

It is worth mentioning that Liao Xilong was noticed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping for his outstanding performance in the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam. He once served as deputy commander of Chengdu Military Region , and was later promoted to commander. He worked in the Chengdu Military Region for 17 years and made great contributions to the military construction of the Chengdu Military Region.
At the age of 62, Liao Xilong became the Minister of the General Logistics Department of the People's Liberation Army and continued to contribute to the country in different positions.
