Nowadays, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in Eastern Europe is likely to escalate further. On the other side, the situation in the Balkans and Kosovo in Europe is also becoming tense again. Recently, after five Western countries jointly issued an ultimatum to Serbia, the President of Serbia announced that the army and police have entered the highest state of combat readiness, and the regional situation is on the verge of breaking out.
In recent months, the situation in the Balkan Peninsula, known as the "powder keg" of Europe, has become tense again. Whether it is the "Sarajevo Incident" that triggered the First World War, or the "Kosovo War", they all occurred in this region. Now, this region is once again tense, and conflicts are likely to break out if there is a disagreement. The culprit of this situation is naturally the NATO group headed by the United States. Serbian President Vucic said earlier that he had been forced into a desperate situation. Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said Serbia was on the verge of war with Kosovo due to the actions of the Kosovo authorities and EU inaction.

According to reports, on December 26, the five major countries, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Italy, collectively issued an ultimatum to the Serbian government, requiring the Vucic government to instruct the local Serbs in Kosovo to immediately remove the roadblocks, otherwise NATO The local garrison and the Kosovo armed forces will jointly launch military operations. In view of the further intensification of the local situation, Serbian President Vucic ordered the national military and police to enter a "state of combat readiness."
It is also reported that on December 25, NATO military personnel in Kosovo were attacked near a roadblock set up by the Serbs. NATO believed that Serbia should be responsible for the attack. In addition, in addition to Serbia, the Kosovo Armed Forces have also entered a state of combat readiness. Both sides can enter the battle at any time, and the war seems to be about to break out. In addition to the original conflict, the cause of all this was that in June this year, the Kosovo authorities pursued the legality of the identity cards and license plates issued by the Serbian government, and then NATO fanned the flames behind the scenes, which caused the matter to further ferment, and then developed into the current situation.

In fact, in general, Western countries want Serbia to recognize Kosovo's "independent" status. However, if Vucic is really subject to Western intimidation and chooses to settle the matter, then he will become the "sinner" of the entire Serbia, betraying the entire Serbian people, and will seriously hurt national feelings and national dignity. So for Vucic, there is only one choice, and that is to choose to fight Western countries to the end.
Of course, Serbia is not alone. It is reported that the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated earlier that Moscow will help Serbia defend its national interests in Kosovo in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova also pointed out that the current situation in Kosovo is all caused by NATO, and also emphasized that Russia will send troops to support Serbia if necessary.

Similarly, Serbia also has a very close relationship with China. In its interactions with China, Vucic has repeatedly expressed firm support for China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. At the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, Serbia also sent aid to China. For China at that time, it was a timely help. As for the Kosovo issue, China has not recognized Kosovo's "independence". At the same time, Serbia is also an important participant in China's "Belt and Road" initiative and an important hub for China to enter the European market. Therefore, both emotionally and rationally, China will not sit idly by and ignore the situation in Kosovo completely deteriorating.
Of course, for the United States, this is not the best time to launch the second Kosovo War. After all, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is still in a stalemate, and there is even a risk of war spilling over. "Anti-war and anti-American" sentiments are rising on the European continent. If the United States is still promoting another war in Europe at this time, Washington will face tremendous pressure from public opinion and military deployment.
