From January 18 to 20, 2022, according to the consensus of the militaries of China, Iran, and Russia, the Chinese, Iranian and Russian navies held the second maritime joint military exercise in the waters of the Gulf of Oman. The exercise aims to deepen the pragmatic cooperation between the navies of the three countries, demonstrate the good will and ability of the three parties to jointly safeguard maritime security, actively build a " maritime community ", and inject positive energy into regional peace and stability.


On January 24, 2022, the Chinese and Russian navies held a joint anti-piracy exercise in the northern waters of the Arabian Sea. Both sides sent a total of five naval vessels, naval helicopters and Marine Corps members to participate in the exercise. The exercise focused on the joint anti-piracy activities of Chinese and Russian ship formations. It mainly practiced joint maneuvers, rescuing hijacked ships, and using helicopters to transport the wounded.


On January 31, 2022, a fleet consisting of the Wuzhishan ship and the Chaganhu ship set off from Guangzhou to deliver my country's aid to Tonga relief supplies. On February 15, local time, the formation arrived at the port of Nuku'alofa, Tonga. After 137 hours of continuous fighting, the formation's officers and soldiers delivered more than 1,400 tons of materials including mobile houses, tractors, generators, water pumps, water purifiers, emergency food, medical and epidemic prevention equipment to Tonga.


On March 2, 2022, a video report on the advanced deeds of the Naval Aviation University carrier-based aircraft flight instructor group at a base, jointly recorded by the Central Propaganda Department, the Political Work Department of the Military Commission, and the Navy Party Committee, will be released online on multiple online platforms.

On June 17, 2022, the launching and naming ceremony of my country’s third aircraft carrier was held at the Jiangnan Shipyard of China State Shipbuilding Corporation. With the approval of the Central Military Commission, my country's third aircraft carrier was named "China's People's Liberation Army Navy Fujian Ship ", and its hull number is "18".

On July 10, 2022, the opening ceremony of the China-Pakistan "Sea Guardian-2" joint maritime exercise was held at a military port in Shanghai. "Sea Guardian-2" is the second exercise in the China-Pakistan "Sea Guardian" series of exercises. On July 13, the warship formation participating in the China-Pakistan "Ocean Guardian-2" joint maritime exercise separated in the predetermined sea area.

From August 15 to 20, 2022, the Chinese Navy hosted the "Ocean Cup" surface ship professional Pacific competition in the waters near Qingdao, Shandong. During the competition, the participating ships from China and Russia jointly won the competition in 4 subjects and won the first place in 2 individual events.

September 25, 2022, marks the tenth anniversary of the Liaoning ship being commissioned. In ten years, from the Liaoning ship to the Shandong ship to the Fujian ship, the People's Navy has made strides into the "three aircraft carrier era." The officers and soldiers of the Liaoning ship lined up neatly to welcome the 10th birthday of the mothership with the highest navy etiquette.

On November 25, 2022, the navy ship Changsha left the naval port terminal with a ship-borne helicopter and more than 200 mission officers and soldiers, and went to Bangladesh to participate in the "International Ship Review". This event is a celebration by the Bangladesh Navy to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Bangladesh’s “Father of the Nation” Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence.

From December 21 to 27, 2022, according to the annual military cooperation plans of China and Russia, the navies of the two countries held a joint military exercise code-named "Sea Joint-2022" in the waters east of Zhoushan to Taizhou , further deepening the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership for coordination in the new era.
