The battle at Xishan Pass began on November 18, 1962. After the exchange of fire between the two sides, the Indian army had the advantage of sophisticated weapons and equipment, while our army had the courage to fight without fear of sacrifice, and many soldiers also had valuable combat experience.

What I didn’t expect was that even though the Indian army had sophisticated weapons, its combat effectiveness was really unbearable. Not long after the two sides exchanged fire, the Indian army began to retreat and flee in embarrassment. Pang Guoxing, who was the deputy squad leader of the fourth squad at the time, saw this opportunity and took advantage of the victory to pursue the enemy. He pursued the enemy regardless of life and death, and had reached a state of selflessness. Because the pursuit was too far, he separated from the main force and found that the only ones following him were Wang Shijun and Ran Fulin.

The three of them formed a combat team, and Pang Guoxing became the team leader and ordered the pursuit to continue. Not long after their pursuit, they discovered that the Indian army was gathering. Pang Guoxing picked up his rifle and aimed at the enemy commander without saying a word. The results of his hard training showed up, and he killed the commander on the opposite side with one shot.

Seeing the death of their commander, the Indian soldiers immediately realized that the People's Liberation Army was pursuing them. The position suddenly became chaotic. No one even came out to stop the resistance. Everyone ran away without saying a word. In this way, Pang Guoxing's trio occupied the Indian artillery position without any effort.

The Indian army retreated and fought back, but they did not know how many people from our army were coming, so they could only shoot aimlessly. Seeing this scene, Pang Guoxing knew that the opponent had lost the will to fight, and the counterattack at this moment was just a bluff to retreat.

The evacuation speed of the two hundred troops was not fast. Pang Guoxing and the three men formed a double team and used machine guns grenades to shoot wildly at the retreating Indian troops. The frightened Indian army was dizzy. They only felt that the People's Liberation Army was everywhere in the valley, and there were gunshots everywhere. The Indian army, with low morale, just ran away and gave up the second howitzer position to Pang Guoxing and the others.

As they chased further and further, the three completely lost contact with the troops, but this situation still could not extinguish their fighting enthusiasm. The enemy often fought guerrillas, and when the enemy was small, they were all killed. After a few battles, Ran Fulin, who had just joined the army, fully grew up.

Later, a leader asked Ran Fulin if he was afraid of participating in the battle as a new recruit? He replied that he was actually very scared, but the motherland needed me to defend the border, so I would go there even if I was scared.

After many days of fighting, the three finally joined the main force. Pang Guoxing reported the results:

This pursuit went through a total of five battles, defeating one artillery battalion and two artillery positions of the Indian army, and killing the local first and second warrant officers below. Seven officers and soldiers, seven artillery pieces, a total of eight artillery scopes and telescopes, and four bulldozers were seized.

Faced with the combat results of Pang Guoxing and the others, the Indian army was frightened, and our generals were also stunned. For a three-person team to achieve such beautiful results is a myth. The superior leaders were concerned and blamed Pang Guoxing and the other three for why they left the army and chased the enemy alone for 15 kilometers regardless of their lives.

Pang Guoxing replied domineeringly: "The enemy not only refused to surrender, but also dared to fight back at me!"

After the war, the three Pang Guoxing were commended for meritorious service. Their superior leaders highly praised their fighting spirit of risking their lives and daring to fight. They were also praised by It's called " battle hero team ".

In this battle, which lasted just over a month, our army killed more than 1,300 enemy soldiers and injured 3,500 officers and soldiers of the 62nd Brigade Hoshil Singh and brigadier generals and below.
