Student visa
The current processing speed of Canadian student visas submitted from China is still very impressive, with an average of only 84 days to complete. Domestic renewal is faster, taking an average of 2 weeks.

Economic Immigration
However, even if the approval is accelerated, the approval cycle for some immigration projects is still very long. For example, for Quebec business immigration applicants, currently the Immigration Bureau only processes applications received 63 months ago.
Although the three projects under the fast track (CEC/FSW/FST) are currently processing applications received 11-42 months ago, according to the instructions of the Minister of Immigration, new applications submitted in the future will be within six months. Completed within the standard approval time of three months.
The latest inventory backlog
As of June 2022, the Canadian Immigration Department’s case inventory has reached 2.38 million, which is 260,000 more than last month’s data.
Of course, this includes immigration applications, naturalization applications and temporary resident permit applications. IRCC pointed out that the excess inventory was mainly caused by Ukraine refugee visas.
Immigration application inventory continues to decline
The immigration application inventory that Chinese applicants are most concerned about has been declining for five consecutive months. Especially for economic category immigrants, the inventory backlog eliminated every month has even exceeded 10,000.
Currently, the inventory of the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) category is 6,088 copies, a decrease of 20% from 7,522 copies on April 29.
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) inventory is at 25,081 units, a decrease of 24% from 32,883 units on April 29.
The federal skilled worker program inventory is 434 people, a 10% decrease from 484 people in April.
The inventory of provincial nomination applications dropped from 72,194 to 68,221.
The inventory of skilled workers in Quebec also dropped to 27,146 from 32,130 at the end of April.
On the other hand, TR2PR’s inventory increased again in 2021, increasing from 44,449 last month to 49,447.
