After repeated evaluations, the doctors decided to use an endoscope to divide the mobile phone into three parts and then take it out without surgery. After the successful operation, the man had no complications. He is still recovering and is expected to be discharged in a few weeks.
After the incident, Dr. Telaku shared the phone incident on Facebook and uploaded photos of the swallowed phone, as well as X-rays and endoscopic images. Since the appearance of the phone is similar to the Nokia 3310, many netizens are surprised how he swallowed the entire Nokia 3310. However, foreign media said that the BM90 of L8star should be swallowed, which is known as the most detailed mini Bluetooth phone in the world, which is much thinner than the 3310.
At present, the doctor team has not disclosed the identity of the man, nor has it explained why he swallowed the phone. Ada Health from Berlin pointed out that when humans swallow non-edible foreign objects, 80% of them will be excreted through feces, but sharp and toxic electronic devices are very dangerous and require prompt medical treatment. The British Society of Gastroenterology mentioned that most foreign bodies will be discharged smoothly after swallowing. Among them, 10% to 20% of cases need to be removed with an endoscope, and 1% of patients need to be surgically removed or treated for complications afterwards.
