China News Service, Beijing, July 15th. In recent days, South has continued to have high temperatures in many places, and the "stove" mode is super long standby. It is reported that many people in Zhejiang, Sichuan, Henan and other places have been diagnosed with heat stroke , and even deaths have occurred.
What exactly is heat stroke? How fierce is this high temperature? How long will it take to be hot?

How hot is this summer?
—The high temperature time exceeds 30 days, and 71 meteorological stations break through the historical extreme value
According to the monitoring of the National Climate Center, since June this year (as of July 12), the average number of high temperature days in my country has been 5.3 days, 2.4 days more than the same period in the previous year, the most in the same period since 1961.
Since June 13, my country has experienced the first regional high temperature weather process this year, with a wide range, long duration, strong extremes and great impact. As of July 12, the high temperature incident has lasted for 30 days, covering a land area of 5.021 million square kilometers, affecting more than 900 million people.
National high temperature daily distribution from June 1 to July 12, 2022 (unit: day)
There are 71 national meteorological stations in the country with the highest temperatures exceeding the historical extreme, among which the daily maximum temperatures in Lingshou, Hebei (44.2℃), Gaocheng (44.1℃), Zhengding (44.0℃) and Yanjin, Yunnan (44.0℃) reached more than 44℃.
Recently, on July 13, a large-scale high temperature occurred in the south. The highest temperature in some areas of eastern Sichuan, Chongqing, southeastern Shaanxi, western Hubei, southern Anhui, southern Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, northeastern Jiangxi, central and northern Fujian reached 38-41℃, and 42.6℃ in Gulin, Sichuan.
On July 14, Zhejiang, Chongqing, Yunnan, Jiangsu and other places issued more than 70 high-temperature red warnings.

Why do high-temperature heat waves occur frequently?
— Global warming , Atmospheric circulation abnormality, La Nina event
WMO (WMO) recently declared that according to data from the European Copernicus climate change service agency, the world has just experienced the third hot June on record, and has seen a wide range of extreme high temperature events.
Meteorological experts analyzed that global warming is the climate background for frequent high-temperature heat wave events in the northern hemisphere, and abnormal atmospheric circulation is the direct cause of frequent high-temperature heat waves in many places around the world since June.
Specifically, the ongoing La Nina incident has provided important climatic background conditions for the occurrence and development of high temperatures in the south since June this year, especially the development of the warm and high pressure zone in mid-latitude in July has strengthened, resulting in a large-scale high temperature weather.
It is understood that since the 21st century, typical years of large-scale continuous high temperature events in my country include 2003, 2013, 2017, etc. Overall, the high temperature incident this year started earlier than the above three years, and the duration and historical extreme number of stations are currently less than these three years. Although the impact range and maximum temperature for a single station are not as good as in 2017, it has exceeded 2003 and 2013.

How long will the high temperature weather last?
—In the next ten days, in the southern region, more high temperatures and less rainy weather
According to the Central Meteorological Observatory preview, since July 6, the Central Meteorological Observatory has issued high temperature warnings for 9 consecutive days. It is expected that by the 17th, the high temperature, sunny and hot weather in eastern Sichuan Basin, Jianghuai, Jianghan, Jiangnan, South China and other places will continue. The daily maximum temperature in most areas is generally 35-38℃, and locally it can reach above 40℃.
Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that the national high temperature
7-20 will occur in the Sichuan Basin, Jianghan, Jianghuai, western and northern Jiangnan along the river, northwestern South China and other places, and the high temperature weather will be alleviated, and the high temperature and muggy weather will continue to be high and hot weather in southeastern Jiangnan and eastern South China.
After the 21st, the high temperature in the southern region will develop again and the scope will be expanded. The daily maximum temperature in Fujian, Jiangxi, southern Zhejiang and other places can reach 39-41℃.

What is heat stroke disease?
- Severe heat stroke, which can endanger life
According to the "Chinese Expert Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of Heat Radiation Disease", "Heat Radiation Disease" is a fatal disease caused by the action of heat damage factors on the body. It is an imbalance in the body's heat production and heat dissipation caused by exposure to a thermal environment or strenuous exercise.
When the temperature is too high, the moisture and electrolytic balance in the human body will be destroyed, causing dizziness, chest tightness and , , and other physical discomforts. This situation is called heatstroke. The classification of "heat stroke" in heatstroke is severe heatstroke.
Heat stroke usually occurs in high temperatures and high humidity in summer, which are usually manifested as high heat, body temperature reaches above 40℃, dry and hot skin without sweat, disorders, organ failure, etc. If the treatment is not received in a timely and proper manner, the mortality rate of heatstroke disease is between 20% and 70%, and the mortality rate of patients over 50 years old can be as high as 80%.

Who is prone to heat ejaculation?
—The elderly, children, and outdoor workers should pay attention to
There are two main key groups that need to prevent heat stroke. A type of healthy young people who are mainly affected by high-intensity physical activities, which are caused by imbalance in the body's heat production and heat dissipation. They are commonly found in healthy young people who exercise vigorously in summer, such as officers and soldiers, athletes, firefighters, construction workers who participate in training in summer.
Another type is common in young people, pregnant women, elderly people with weak bodies, or individuals with chronic underlying diseases or impaired immune functions. They usually cause passive exposure to a thermal environment to cause the body's heat production and heat dissipation imbalance.
Experts remind that for thermal stroke, prevention is very important. It is necessary to avoid going out during high temperatures, strengthen ventilation, maintain appropriate room temperature, and protect it when it is sunburned for a long time. In high-temperature and humid environments, if you experience symptoms of heatstroke such as accelerated heartbeat, dizziness, headache, shortness of breath, etc., you should transfer it to a cool and ventilated place to rest as soon as possible.
