What is influenza?
Influenza (referred to as influenza) is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by influenza viruses, which seriously endanger human health. Influenza viruses are variable in antigens and spread rapidly, and can cause seasonal epidemics every year.
Symptoms of influenza
Influenza is not common cold . Its typical symptoms are fever, cough (usually dry cough), headache, sore throat , muscle and joint pain.
Most people have mild symptoms and usually heal themselves within one week. However, influenza can also cause severe illness or even death in some people, especially high-risk groups.

How to prevent influenza?
1. Maintaining good personal hygiene habits is an important means to prevent influenza , including: washing hands frequently, paying attention to respiratory etiquette (covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing), opening windows for ventilation, eating a balanced diet, and exercising in moderation; during the flu epidemic season, high-risk people try to avoid going to places where people gather.
2. Influenza vaccination
Influenza vaccination is the most effective means to prevent influenza virus infection and its serious complications. Since the strains of the flu epidemic are different every year, the flu vaccine needs to be re-inoculated every year.
Recommend priority for vaccination: children aged 6 months to 5 years old; elderly people aged 60 and above; patients with chronic diseases; medical staff.
Precautions for influenza patients
Influenza virus is very easy to spread. When infected people cough or sneeze, they will spread droplets containing the virus into the air. People around them will be infected by inhaling these droplets. Influenza viruses can also be transmitted through hands that are contaminated with the virus.
Therefore, after flu symptoms, you should try to rest at home, open the windows for ventilation, cover your mouth and nose with tissues, towels, etc. when coughing or sneezing, and wash your hands frequently.
When family members have influenza patients, close contact should be avoided as much as possible. Pay special attention when there are children, the elderly, pregnant women, and patients with chronic diseases at home. Patients with influenza should try to avoid entering and leaving public places, and should wear masks if they really need to go out.
When parents go to the hospital for treatment with flu symptoms, they should also take good care of the child and himself (such as wearing a mask) to avoid cross infection.
