Born in 1883, Shen Yinmo is a famous scholar, poet and calligrapher, professor at Peking University, president of Peking University, and a pioneer of the May Fourth Movement and editorial board member of the magazine "New Youth". He, together with his brother Shen Shiyuan and younger brother Shen Jianshi, was known as "Peking University Three Shens", and was famous for his calligraphy. Literary Xu Pingyu said that Shen Yinmo's calligraphy artistic achievements "gone beyond the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and entered the four schools of Song dynasties without any shame." Professor Xie Zhiliu, the late head of the National Cultural Relics Appraisal Group, believes that "for hundreds of years, there have been many calligraphers, and no one has surpassed him."
