Los Angeles Dodgers is a professional baseball team located in Los Angeles, affiliated to the MLB National League West Side. The team's home stadium is Dodger Stadium.
Early Brooklyn Baseball History
In the 1850s, Brooklyn was the location of many outstanding baseball clubs. Eight of the 16 members of the National Professional Baseball Association came from Brooklyn, and included the Atlantics, Eckfords and Excelsiors, who dominated the arena for most of the 1860s.
- Brooklyn was also the first paid football match. The location between New York and Brooklyn in 1958 was the location of a series of All-Star three-game matches, thus assisting in the commercialization of baseball. Brooklyn also has two earliest closed baseball stadiums, Union Grounds and Capitoline Grounds. The exclusive closed stadium accelerated the evolution from amateur to professional.
- Although Brooklyn clubs were very successful in the National Baseball Association, the official statement was that they were amateur until 1869, but the first professional league established in 1871, the National Professional Baseball Association, participated in only the weak teams. The advanced team no longer challenged the amateur championship game after the Civil War and never entered the Professional National Association. The Eckford and the Atlantic refused to join until 1872, thus losing their best player. The Iquevod team only survived for one season, and the Atlantic team had poor results for four seasons.
National League replaced the National Association in 1876 and assigned an exclusive area with its eight members. Atlantic team was removed because of overlap with New York's fellow teams. Soon after, the fellow team was expelled. Hartford Deep Blue team replaced it and changed its name to Brooklyn Hartford . They used the Federal Stadium as home court in 1877 until they were disbanded.
Brooklyn Dodgers
The Brooklyn Baseball Club, which later became the National League Dodgers, was founded in 1883 and joined the American Association the following year. This team was originally called the Atlantic (from the team from the National Association earlier), and later called the Grays. After several players got married in 1888, the media began to call the team the Brooklyn Grooms, who won the 1889 American League championship. After transferring to the National League in 1890, this team became the first of three teams to win different leagues in the major leagues in a row, and the only baseball team among them (the other two teams were the 1948-1949 Minneapoli Lakers and the 1949-1950 Cleveland Browns).
It took eight years before it was successful again because the two clubs jointly invested, and the soon-to-disband National League Baltimore Orioles (NL) sold several Hall of Fame players and Brooklyn, and head coach Ned Hanlon, which immediately fell into an internal struggle. Brooklyn Superbas (this team was called so in the late 1890s because their head coach and Hanlon's Superbas were the same name as the famous stunt show team at the time) lived up to its name and won the championships in 1899 and 1900.
During this period, the team mainly played in two stadiums, Washington Park and Eastern Park. When playing at the East Stadium in the 1890s, since the Brooklyn mass transportation was very developed at that time, and you had to carefully dodge the frequent Trolley (a tram) when walking on the street, the team was nicknamed Trolley Dodgers (tram dodgers), and later it was simply called Dodgers, which is the origin of today's team name.During this period, the club
also underwent a series of mergers, and in 1888, the New York Metropolitans were acquired to protect the field and obtain the star contract, and in 1891, the Brooklyn Wonders merged with the Brooklyn Wonders, and in 1900, the clubs were consolidated with the Baltimore Orioles.
In 1902, Hanlong expressed his desire to buy the operating rights and move the team back to Baltimore, but his plan was blocked by Charles Ebbets, an old employee who devoted his life to the club. Abis, in order to buy the team, keep it in Brooklyn, he is heavily in debt. Ebbes' ambition is not limited to owning this team. He wants to replace the old Washington Stadium with a new stadium, and once again invest heavily in the construction of Ebbes Field. This place later became the base of the Dodgers in 1913.
"Uncle Robin" and "Follow Boy"
Head coach Wilbert Robinson, another former Baltimore man nicknamed "Uncle Robbie", brings Brooklyn back to his past glory. The Brooklyn Robins challenged the 1916 and 1920 World Series with the National League Championship. Although they lost both times, they also fought tenaciously for many seasons.
After becoming chairman, Robin's ability to focus on the decline of baseball stadiums. In the 1920s, this team was often teased as "Daffiness Boys", meaning their style of playing ball with distracted concentration and frequent mistakes. Outfielder Babe Herman is also the boss of blow and funny. After being removed from the position of club chairman, Robin returned to coach and the club's performance rebounded a little.
Robin retired in 1931 and took over the other head coaching positions that remained. Although some people suggested rename the Robins to the "Brooklyn Canaries" (Brooklyn Canaries, because Carnarius's original surname was Carnarius), they were finally named the Brooklyn Dodgers. It was also during this period Willard Mullin, a famous sports cartoonist, gave the Brooklyn team a popular nickname "Dem Bums" (those refugees). After hearing his taxi driver ask, "How are those refugees doing today?" Mulin decided to represent the Dodgers in his cartoon column of World Telegraph New York. His paintings and nicknames attracted widespread attention. Even many Dodger annual covers were printed with Brooklyn refugees depicted by Mulin.
Maybe the climax of the fool boy happened after Wilbert Robinson left the contestant's rest area. In 1934, when Bill Terry, the New York Giants head coach, was asked about his possibility of thinking the Dodgers winning the championship, he responded sharply: "Is Brooklyn still in the league?" Now coached by Casey Stengel (who was a Brooklyn player in the 1910s and was very successful when coaching other teams), the Dodgers in 1934 were determined to make their existence known. As the season is coming to an end, the Giants' record draws with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Giants have several games with the Dodgers. Stanjo led his refugees to Polo Grounds at a decisive moment, winning the Giants for the second time and KO them into the championship game. The Gas House Gang Cardinals won the Reds in the same two days and confirmed to win the championship.
- An important change in this period was the appointment of Larry MacPhail as general manager of Dodge. Mark Fell, who brought night baseball into the major leagues as general manager of the Cincinnati Reds, introduced night baseball into the Dodges home game and ordered a successful redecoration of Ebis wild field.

He also brought Red Barber, the mouthpiece of the Reds, to Brooklyn in 1939, to become the Dodgers' chief broadcaster, shortly after sabotaging the New York baseball executive's agreement to ban live broadcasts for fear of affecting the number of attendances of the home team.
- Markfell stayed with the Dodgers until 1942, and later returned to the army for World War II . He later became a partner of New York Yankees . He did not successfully bid for Barber to join him as the Bronx broadcaster. His son Lee MacPhail and grandson Andy MacPhail also became CEO of major league teams.
- 939 The Brooklyn defeated the Reds 6-1 in the wild game of Aibis was the first major league game to be broadcast on television. The batting helmet was introduced to the Major League in 1941 by the Dodge.
Breaking the barrier of color
Almost throughout the first half of the 20th century, no African American could play on major league teams. Although a black league was developed parallel to it, most teams did not have the opportunity to show their skills in front of national audiences. On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson, , became the first African-American to play in a major league team as a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Branch Rickey, general manager of
, contributed a lot to this matter. The motivation for the pious Rickey to do so seems to be mainly based on moral factors, but business considerations also exist. Riggie is a member of Methodist (now United Methodist Church), a strong supporter of social justice and later active in the civil rights movement. Finally, Riggie died at the age of 83 in Missouri .
This event heralds the integration of the American sports community and the subsequent decline of the Black Alliance, and is considered a milestone of the American civil rights movement. Robinson is a very outstanding player, a fast runner, and was awarded the first award for the year, and Robinson was finally admitted to the Hall of Fame.
"Wait for next year!"
955 World Series
After the bleak times of the 1920s and 1930s, the Dodgers were rebuilt into a powerful club by General Manager Larry MacPhail and the legendary Branch Rickey. Under the leadership of Pieve Reese, Jackie Robinson, Gil Hodges in the infield, Duke Snyder in the center and outfield, Roy Campanella behind the plate, Don Newcombe on the pitcher mound, Dodge won the National League championships in 1941, 1947, 1949, 1952 and 1953. However, in all five world games, they lost to the New York Yankees, continued to look forward to it, and finally disappointed, becoming an annual ritual for fans of this team to suffer for a long time. "Wait till next year!" (Wait till next year!), which also became the Dodge's unofficial slogan.
- Although the Dodges were a success during this period, in 1951, they became victims of one of the biggest crushing defeats in baseball history. On August 11, the Dodgers led their biggest enemy, the New York Giants in the National League with 13 and 1/2 games. However, from this time to the end of the season, although the Dodgers scored 26-22, the Giants amazingly won 37 of their last 44 games, including the last seven consecutive games. In the season-end summary, Dodgers and the Giants ranked first, so they had to play a three-game winning streak.
- Giants won the first game 3-1 and then closed 10-0 by Dodgers' Clem Labine in the second game, so the final game was decided and Brooklyn seemed to have secured the championship as they led 4-2 in the second half of the nine innings, however, the Giants' third battalion, Barbie Townsend, hit a beautiful three-pointer from Dodgers' Ralph Branca, dramatically won the National League title for New York. This home base hit is known today as the "Shot Heard 'Round The World" and although it represents a blow that defeated the Dodges, it is widely regarded as one of the greatest moments in baseball history.
- At this time, the core players of the Dodges had begun to age, and "next year" finally came. Under the first-class pitching performance of young left-handed Johnny Podres, "Summer Boys" shot down the Bronx bomber in seven games. Podres won two of the World Series, including the decisive seventh.
Although the Dodge lost to the Yankees in the 1956 World Series, during which Yankees pitcher Don Larson even made the only playoff game in baseball history, it was nothing more than that. Brooklyn fans have their triumphant memories, and soon this will be the only one they have left. As the lyrics of Billy Joel's single "We Didn't Start the Fire" remembered this victory decades later, "Brooklyn has a team that won."
moved to California
real estate developer Walter O'Malley bought the shares in the hands of his partner Blanche Reggie in 1950, thus obtaining a majority stake in the team. Not long afterwards, he began to look for land in Brooklyn to build a stadium with more convenient transportation and better layout than Aibis Field. Although Aibis Field was once very popular, it was too old and had a serious impact. Even Dodges could not sell seats at the climax of the championship (although it dominated the league from 1946 to 1957 most of the time).
- However, New York City construction coordinator Robert Morse hopes to force Oumali to use the site in Flushing Meadows Park in Queens – the site eventually becomes the location of Shea Stadium. Morse's plan was to build a stadium built by the city and owned by the city government, which was seriously in conflict with Oumali's real estate interests. After Omali knew that he would not buy any suitable land in Brooklyn, he began to consider other locations.
- When Los Angeles officials attended the 1955 World Series, hoping to instigate a team to move to Angel City , they didn't even think about the Dodgers. Their original goal was to the low-ranking Washington Senators (later moved to Minnesota in 1961 to become the Minnesota Twins). At this time, O'Malley was looking for a record to avoid if Morse and other New York politicians refused to let him cover the stadium he wanted in Brooklyn. He passed the message to Los Angeles officials that he was interested in talking, but Los Angeles provided an opportunity for him to buy suitable land to cover the stadium.
- At the same time, the owner of the New York Giants Horace Stoneham also faced a similar dilemma of finding land to build a new stadium to replace the old Boro Stadium. As a result, the two teams' mortal enemies moved to the West Coast together after the 1957 season. On April 18, 1958, Dodgers played their first game in Los Angeles in front of 78,672 fans, defeating the former New York current San Francisco Giants 6-5.
migration controversy
Dodge's migration has caused a lot of controversy, perhaps more than any team's migration during the same period, especially Watt O'Malley, who was regarded as a big bad guy by the old Brooklyn Dodge fans, but also by the Los Angeles people as a hero for bringing a major league team to their city. Old Brooklyn Dodge fans believe his behavior shows his selfishness and greed, but the same description can be used to hinder him as New York politicians, both of whom are very stubborn and seriously misjudgment of each other. It should also be noted that Brooklyn is no longer suitable as the location of a baseball team under various social pressures. In fact, the proposals of both parties to the debate are to move the Dodge out of Brooklyn.(Moss’ plan to set up a team at Voracine Mettos was realized a few years later, and the New York Mets began playing at Cia Stadium.) Oumali’s vision is also worth the plus point, before 1958, the city in Missouri was usually the westernmost border of the major league teams, and 12 of the 30 teams today have their bases further west.
Opponents believe that even under the unfavorable conditions of the Abis wild court, the Dodgers were still the second most profitable team in the 1950s, and other teams (such as Boston Red Sox ) have also confirmed that they can succeed in a field as old as Abis wild court, and the location of the New York Yankees, which faced the same changes and challenges as Brooklyn, still attracted a large number of people to the Bronx. The reason for Moss' objection to Oumaly's stadium may not be unfounded. Dodge's boss hopes to drop a cookie-shaped stadium at the busy jacks of Atlantic and Flatbush Avenues, which will require a huge urban renewal plan that will have political and financial problems (page archive backup, stored in Internet Archives ). Moss also believes that this plan will hinder traffic like the "Great Wall of China". The Dodger’s proposed Atlantic Yards, including building another sports field across the street from the proposed Dodger Field to accommodate the NBA New Jersey Nets, met opposition from Brooklyn politicians and community athletes who believe its size could ruin community features.
Many columnists believe that Oumale deliberately makes his stadium proposal seem unrealistic to strengthen his claim that he was driven away by New York politicians. O'Malley once placed a model of Dodge's new stadium on his desk, and then privately negotiated with LA politicians while selling its merits to the public. But many of Moss' scholars would point the arrow at Moss's near-pathetic uncompromising character, who blatantly disdained the public and media criticism of his plans, but the political structure of New York City in the 1950s made him almost always able to try his best. Nevertheless, outstanding New York leaders learned to deal with him in a reciprocal way, and Cardinal Francis Cardinal Spellman even allowed Morse to stamp the first section of Fordham University in Manhattan . In the 1950s, there were only Queens and large areas of undeveloped land in New York City, a fact that Morse knew very well.
In addition, O'Marley was not the first team owner to see the future possibilities of Los Angeles. The St. Louis Browns had planned to move to LA after the 1941 season. They would vote on the migration at the shareholders' meeting on December 8, 1941, but were cancelled due to Japan's sneak attack on Pearl Harbor.
At the 2000 World Series, Roger Kahn wrote a comment for the Los Angeles Times, recalling the situation when he sat with New York State and New York City officials to buy the Dodgers. The Omarley family took out the team to sell it in 1998, and The team was ordered to take this opportunity to move Dodgers back to Brooklyn. Kan said that the offer proposed by the team was rejected by the Omarley family. The specific amount was said to be higher than the price that Ruber Meadow later paid. Kan believed that the Omarley family's rejection was because Dodgers were kicked out of New York, which was part of the team's myth. Kan said that the Omarley family needed this myth more than money.
New start
The construction of the stadium in Walter O'Malley's dream was soon unfolding in the Chavez Ravine in the hilly district of the northern downtown L.A., but some political disputes arose, and many local Hispanics and poor people refused to expropriate their land (the land previously expropriated for a national residential program) and received some public sympathy. However, Omarley and the city government's determination has not wavered, so construction continues. The struggle for migration by these residents was called the Battle of Chavez Ravine.
During construction, the Dodge played their home game at the Los Angeles Memorial Stadium from 1958 to 1961, a huge football and track and field stadium built to host the 1932 summer Olympic . The layout of the Los Angeles Memorial Stadium is not the most ideal for baseball. The only way to load a diamond into an elliptical stadium is to lay the third base line along the minor axis of the ellipse and the first base line along the major axis of the ellipse (see figure), which resulted in the left field wall being only about 250 feet (76.2m) away from the home plate, so a 40-foot (12.2m) high retaining wall was erected to avoid being too easy to hit a home run. Still, in the 1958 season, 182 home runs hit the left field, with only three hits hit the center field and eight right field.
In 1959, Dodge tied with the Milwaukee Warriors at the end of the season, and then Dodge won the decision game. 1959 was also the year when the Yankees failed to win the World Series, one of the only two years between 1949 and 1964. In a pleasant world competition, the Dodgers defeated the Chicago White Sox in six games, cementing the connection between the team and its California fans.
Pitching, defense and speed
Doctor Stadium was completed as scheduled and opened in 1962. Its clean, simple shape and picturesque layout between the hills and coconut trees made this stadium quickly a representative symbol of the Dodgers and their new California lifestyle, and is still one of the most respected baseball fields to this day. Omarley was determined that there would be no broken seat in the house and set up a cantilever in the front stand to achieve this. This design was widely followed. What is more important to this team is that the unique layout of this court, coupled with other influencing factors, makes defense more favorable than offense, and the Dodgers form a team that can be good at pitching in order to gain this advantage.
The core of this team's success in the 1960s was the perfect pitching of Sandy Koffas and Don Drysdale, who won a total of four of the five Cy Young Awards from 1962 to 1966, during which time the Cy Young Award was awarded only one of the best pitchers in the two major leagues. Other top pitchers are Claude Osteen, aged Johnny Podres and rescue pitcher Ron Perranoski. The batting attack, on the other hand, is less satisfying, and most of the offensive sparks come from shortstop Maury Wills, who scored first in the 5th hijacking hijacking html from 1960 to 1965 and stole a record-breaking 104 hijacking bases in 1962. Dodge's strategy was once described like this: "Welsh hit a first hit, stolen second base , then rolled to third base with a rolling ball, sent him back to home base with a sacrifice high flying ball, Cofas and Trisdale shot the block, and then Dodge won one-to-zero." Although few games were completely in this mode, Dodge did win many low-scoring games.
962's record was tied again, and then in the decision, Dodge was defeated by their enemy Giants, but Dodge continued to win three years in the next four years. The 1963 World Series was a beautiful four-game winning streak against the Yankees. The Bronx Bombers had never even led a single inning against a strong pitcher lineup such as Cofas, Podris and Trisdale. After the injury disaster in 1964, Dodd bounced back and won the 1965 World Series in seven games against the Minnesota Twins. The first game began on Yom Kippur, and Cofas (he was Jewish ) refused to pitch on Holy Day, a widely praised decision. Dodd reversed after losing the first two games, and won the block after the blocking of the fifth and seventh games (with only two days off in between). Cofas also won the World Championship Most Valuable Player Award that year.
Dodge won the championship again in 1966, but the team was already weak and swept by the Baltimore Orioles in the World Series.Shandy Cofas retired in the winter of this year, his career was shortened by arthritis of the bowler's elbow, Wales was traded after offending O'Malley, Trisdale was still very useful and set a new record of unsuccessful points in 1968, but he also retired early due to injuries. After several seasons of Dodges being below level, a new generation of young core players were trained in their ranch system. They won another championship in 1974, and although they were quickly dismissed by the Auckland Athletics team in the World Series, it was a precursor to a good thing in the future.
Lassoda era
- For 23 years since 1953, Dodge was head coached by Walter Alston. He is a quiet, calm and highly respected by his players. Ouston's tenure was the third longest person in baseball history as head coach of a single team, with the first two being Connie Mack and John McGraw. After winning seven NFC titles and four World Series, he retired near the end of the season in 1976, clearing the barrier to the Dodges being taken out by another person with a completely different personality.
- Tommy Lasorda is a 49-year-old former minor league pitcher. He is the chief coach of the team under Oston and has served as the head coach of the Dodges' top minor league team. He is an interesting and sociable person. A fanatical cheering captain with a silent personality relative to Oston. He quickly becomes a famous figure and dates with celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, and he is fond of eating large portions of Italian cuisine. He has some famous sayings such as "If you cut me, I flow Dodge Blue" and calling God "the Great Dodge in Heaven." While some people think that his character is just a gimmick to attract attention and feel unbearable, his enthusiasm earned him the reputation of a "baseball ambassador" and it is almost impossible not to think of him when it comes to Dodge from the late 1970s to the early 1990s.
- Another change has happened recently, when Wat O'Malley handed over the team to his son Peter O'Malley, who later represented the family to manage the Dodge until 1998.
The team has also injected new blood on the court. The team's core is now in the infield, with members such as first baseman Steve Garvey, second baseman Davey Lopes, shortstop Bill Russell and third baseman Ron Cey. These foursomes stayed together in the starting lineup from 1973 to 1981, and have been longer than any infield foursome in baseball history. The pitchers are still strong, with Don Sutton and Tommy John being the pillars. Dodge won the NFL West Championship in 1977 and 1978, and defeated Philadelphia Phillies in both years to win the NFL Championship, but lost to the Yankees in the World Series in two years. In 1980, the Dodgers swept the Houston Astros in a three-game game in the last week of the season to tie for the NFC West, but lost 7-1 to the Astros in a single game.
Joe Torre Times
007 season, Dodge and famous coach Joe Torre, who rejected the New York Yankees contract, signed a three-year, $14.5 million contract.
008 season, Dodgers entered the playoffs as the champion of the NFC West Division and fought against the NFC's first seed Chicago Bears in the 2008 National League Division Tournament. The Dodges swept the Bears with a straight-down 3 and advanced, but lost 1:4 to the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Championship.
009 season, Dodgers were the best team in the major leagues at the beginning of the season, and the difference between the second place and the second place reached more than 9 games. However, after the Star Game, the record began to decline, and was almost caught up by the second place in the division. It was not until the first game of the last series of the routine competition that they were confirmed to be the champion of Lianzhuang Guolian West District and the first seed of the National League. In the 2009 National League Division Championship, Dodge swept the Cardinals with a straight-down 3 if they were not favored. The National League Championship match was to compete with the same opponent as last year's Philadelphia. The final result of the game was the same as last year, and Dodge was eliminated 1:4. The Dodgers' playoff record in the past two years has been the same, with 4 wins and 4 losses. Looking into the reason why the Dodgers cannot win the NFC championship is that the starting pitcher cannot provide high-quality starters, and the support pitcher often collapses and cannot defend himself.
010 season, Dodge's combat power began to decline after the Star Game. The bullpen had problems almost every day and was unable to enter the playoffs in the end, leaving an ordinary record of 80 wins and 82 losses.
Dan Martinley era
010 post-season Tory announced his retirement, taking over by former strike coach Dan Martinley.
Many fans are optimistic about the Dodge's performance in 2011, but things went against their expectations. The performance in the first half of the 2011 season was poor, and by June 19, the record was only 31 wins and 41 losses, which was 8.5 games behind the Giants. The poor performance can be attributed to the disappointing strike ability and the bullpen of wounded soldiers. The second half of the 2011 season was a mess, and by August 20, he had only 56 wins and 67 losses, and he was almost unable to advance to the playoffs. Boss Frank McCourt and coach D. Mattingly have a heavy responsibility. But after August 22, the Dodgers broke out in a blow, and coupled with the originally strong pitching group, the Dodgers' record stopped falling and rebounded. As of September 27, the Dodgers' record was 81 wins and 78 losses, not only determined the winning rate of 50%, but also the third in the Western Conference of the National League.
until 2013 after Dodge changed a new buyer, and finally Dodge won the title of king at home at the Diamondbacks, which is also Dodge won the title of king in the division after 2009. In the 2013 National League Divisional Tournament, he took a 2:1 lead in the series, 1 point behind in 8 innings, and Yasiel Puig took the lead in knocking out a second base. Juan Uribe should have escorted Puig to third base at the expense of hitting, but unexpectedly, he failed twice, finally swung a 2-point reversal gun to help the Dodge defeat the Warriors 4:3. In NLCS, the Dodge lost to the National League Central Champion Cardinals 2:4. This is the third time Dodge has entered the National League Championship in the past six seasons but ended in failure.

Dave Roberts era
On November 23, 2015, Roberts was appointed as Dodge head coach.

Dodges and Rocky both had a climax in September, and the Diamondbacks collapsed in September, both of which won 91 wins and 71 losses. It is necessary to decide who can win the Western Conference Championship through the extra game. In the end, Dodge defeated Luoji 5:2, and was determined to win the second seed of the National League and the sixth consecutive dominance of Guoxi. After five years of separation, he defeated the Guodong champion Warriors again in NLDS 3:1. For the first time in team history, he entered the National League championship game for three consecutive years (the 13th time in team history), and eliminated the Milwaki Brewers 5:1 away in Game 7, completing the 2nd consecutive dominance of the National League championship. In the 9th inning, Dodges counterattacked in the final, Edwin Ríos was striked out first, Austin Barnes, who was playing in the left field, was eliminated, and the Lights coaching team immediately replaced Diego Castillo. Mookie Betts slipped back to tie the score. Then the Corey Seager fielder chose to return to the advanced score. Under the 8th inning, Baz pulled the ball back to retreat to Tampa Bay Light 3-1. Following the 2006 NBA wild card, it is confirmed that NBA wild card will face the St. Louis Cardinals. In the case of pitching battles, Dodge relied on Chris Taylor to advance to the NFC divisional match with two points, and will face the San Francisco Giants with a century-old feud and the best record of this season. This will be the first time that two teams with a long history have met in the playoffs.- Giants and their old rival Dodgers had their historic first encounter in the NFC Division Series. Dodgers' starting pitcher Walker Buehler lost 3 points in 6.1 innings, but the 24-year-old Logan Webb dominated the battle and paid 7.2 innings and 10 strikeouts without losing points. In addition, the Dodgers were blocked in the line, and the Dodgers lost their first defeat 0:4.
- Before the game, the Giants invited Travis Ishikawa, who sent the Giants into the World Championship with a baton in 2014, to kick off, but failed to bring good luck to the team. The Dodgers had both offense and defense tonight. Cody Bellinger broke through the inner demon sniper speedball in the first half of the six innings to expand the lead, and combined with Trea Turner and Mookie Betts to consolidate the lead. The Dodgers defeated the Giants with a big score of 9:2 in the end, and returned to the home advantage of the series of games.

In the end, Dodge was scored 10% back at home 3-5. After the first two games of the division series, two teams won 1 win each, and each scored 8 points to draw.

997 coincided with the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson entering the Major League. In order to commemorate the extraordinary significance and outstanding life of this great player, all major league teams retired the No. 42 jersey to remind the world to cherish this era of freedom and equality. Therefore, the No. 42 jersey was officially retired in the major leagues, and all new players from the team are not allowed to use this back number. This unprecedented initiative in professional sports is the No. 42 jersey represented by Robinson, which is a glorious first precedent.

On October 22, Dodge decided to fire Dan Martinley and not to execute next year's contract.
