West Lake in Hangzhou is famous all over the world. Every holiday, the West Lake is crowded with tourists from all over the world. It is bustling and lively. If you like the scenery of West Lake but don't want to crowd with people, there is a good place to the west of West Lake with secluded bird songs, that is Maojiabu .
Maojiabu is located to the west of Yanggongdi. Its name comes from the fact that the entrance to the village was covered with thatch during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and it was named after the wild charm. The scenic area is large, there are not many tourists, and it is quiet and elegant. After looking for a weekend, we went to Maojiabu to explore the ancient times.
This was originally the starting point of the famous "Shangxiang Ancient Road". Pilgrims got off the boat here and went straight to Tianzhu, Lingyin along the ancient road. Along the way, there are many temples, restaurants, and shops, and there is an endless stream of tourists. In the late 1940s, when a highway was opened from Lakeside to Lingyin, this "ancient road to incense" gradually fell into silence. Today, Maojiabu has become a rare and quiet place beside the bustling West Lake.
Walking along the winding path built with wooden planks among sparse bamboos and reeds, or sitting quietly in the thatched pavilion listening to the wind, the "light touch" of the West will come to life before your eyes.
There is a Maojiabu Village in the scenic spot. In the old days, most of the people living here were families with the surname Mao, who made a living by picking tea and raising silkworms. There is a small street in the village, which is also part of the Shangxiang Ancient Road. It used to be a gathering place of commercial ports and numerous restaurants and teahouses.
In recent years, with the development of the surrounding Maojiabu scenic spot, a small village that was originally hidden in the mountains has now become a good place for people from near and far to relax, invite friends here to drink tea, play cards, chat, and spend time together. Have a happy rest day.
Most of the houses in the village have been converted into B&Bs or farmhouses. There are Chinese-style ones suitable for family gatherings, and there are also petty bourgeoisie ones for friends to get together or for young couples to go on dates. The name of that house and small building sounds very interesting.
The secluded environment with birdsong and wild mountains and forests has become a place for people living in the reinforced concrete jungle to relax their minds.
We found a place to stay in the village and wandered around the village for a while. There are still villagers living in the village, giving you a strong sense of life.
We left the village and crossed Longjing Road to the Maojiabu Scenic Area opposite. There was a drunken white building by the lake. I wonder if Li Bai once fell drunk here.
Along the trail to the north, there is a gathering place for dining and tea breaks. There is a former residence of Du Jinsheng inside, but unfortunately it is not open.
Go all the way north along the waterside embankment. When you reach the lake, your view suddenly opens up. In front of you is a bridge lying across the lake. The name of the bridge is Yujian Bridge.
Climbing to the top of the bridge, you can see the pavilions and pavilions nearby, and the lakes and mountains in the distance, which are fresh and elegant and refreshing.
Crossing the bridge and heading east along the lake, you can see the Tongli Ancient Bridge. Three or four hundred years ago, pilgrims who came from Hangzhou to Lingyin and Tianzhu Temple to burn incense would have to go ashore for a walk after the ship passed this bridge.
Maojiabu Lake is not big, with dense trees, suitable for waterbirds to inhabit. Walking along the road, I saw many "bird hunting" enthusiasts carrying long guns and short cannons, either by the lake or at the edge of the pavilion, patiently waiting for their orders. The captured birds appear. I also followed suit and shot birds for a while, but unfortunately the equipment was not good, so I just entertained myself.
Continue east along the lake, and at the end is Yanggong Causeway. Go south along Yanggong Causeway to Longjing Branch Road and circle back to the west. After walking to Santaishan Road, go south. You can go to the south of Maojiabu Scenic Area for a walk. Here There are also many ancient monuments and beautiful scenery.
Near Zhejiang Hotel , there is an inscription on the cliff of Damailing Su Dongpo. It is located on a small hill by the roadside and is easy to miss. In 1090, when Su Dongpo came to Hangzhou for the second time to be the prefect, he wrote it when he, Wang Yu, Yang Jie and Zhang Shou visited Tianzhu and passed Damailing. Unfortunately, most of it has been damaged, and the remaining part is well protected by a pavilion.
After passing Zhejiang Hotel, head west along the path to the lake. There is a Turtle Lake scenic spot with gurgling streams, ancient bridges, towering ancient trees, and beautiful scenery.
To the south are the Yu Zhongsu Gong Temple and Yu Qian Tomb. The temple was built to commemorate Yu Qian, a national hero of the Ming Dynasty. He, Yue Fei and Zhang Huangyan were also known as the "Three Heroes of West Lake". It's a pity that General Tie is guarding the door and cannot enter to pay his respects.
Across the road, there are several old houses, which have been converted into Zixuan Resort. The design conforms to nature, with several small huts scattered among them, integrating with the scenic spot without any sense of obtrusion.
Along the way, a few light rain fell occasionally. After the rain, it cleared up and the sun shone through the tree branches and imprinted on the bluestone, revealing a hint of ancient meaning.

accidentally bumped into the famous Lakeside University . This university founded by Jack Ma is said to have the lowest admission rate in the world, no one.
There is Zijiu Thatched Cottage to the south of the university. It is a teahouse named after Huang Gongwang (zijiu). It is said that it was rebuilt from Huang Gongwang's old residence. When I am tired from walking, I can sit here for a while and enjoy a cup of tea quietly.
There is also a Wu Zhuangyuan Square by the lake. In the seventh year of Jiading , Liu Bifang, the Youbang Wu Zhuangyuan, built the Wu Zhuangyuan Square at the entrance of Chishan Road at the foot of the South Peak. It was rebuilt in 2003 to commemorate the historical site.
Standing at Wu Zhuangyuanfang and looking across the lake, Jihong Bridge is like a rainbow lying on the waves, lying quietly on the water.
After spending half a day wandering around the scenic spot, it was already half-dark when we returned to Maojiabu Village. There was a restaurant called "Alley" at the entrance of the village. It had an elegant environment, high quality, and reasonable prices, making us feel at home. Feel.
I woke up early the next day. When I got up, I saw the uncles and aunts in the village already exercising by the lake.
I walked to Yanggong Embankment and wanted to take a photo of the sunrise. The sky was always covered with clouds and fog, and I didn’t see the sun rise. However, the morning glow filled the eastern sky. The boatmen who got up early were preparing for the day’s work, but they also gave me a picture. I present a rare beauty.
