One of the world's largest airlines American Airlines will have the world's largest supersonic fleet.
On August 16th local time, American Airlines (American Airlines3) announced that it will purchase Boom Supersonic Overture supersonic aircraft to form the world's largest supersonic fleet. American Airlines has paid a non-refundable deposit for 20 of the Overture aircraft and has the option to purchase another 40.

According to the official website of American Airlines, American Airlines was established in 1930 and has now become one of the largest airlines in the world. Nearly 6,700 flights are provided to 50 countries and more than 350 destinations every day.
According to reports, Overture's maximum flight speed is Mach 1.7, twice the fastest commercial aircraft. The range is 4250 nautical miles and can carry 65 to 80 passengers. The supersonic aircraft can complete flights on more than 600 routes around the world in half of the time, and significantly shorten the flight time across the Atlantic and the trans-Pacific Ocean.
For example, flights from Seattle to Tokyo usually take 10 hours to fly, while Overture can arrive in 6 hours. In addition, it becomes possible to fly from Miami to London within five hours, and from Los Angeles to Honolulu within three hours. In terms of order status of
Overture, according to Boom, there are already purchases and selections of American Airlines, United Airlines, and Japanese Airlines, , with a total of 130 aircraft. Boom has previously stated that each Overture aircraft is priced at US$200 million. "We believe that the feature of reducing travel time by half through Overture can help American Airlines deepen its competitive advantages in network, customer loyalty and overall airline preferences," said Blake Scholl, founder and CEO of
Boom. In July, Boom announced the final production design of Overture, which is scheduled to be launched in 2025 and will carry the first passengers in 2029.
On August 16th local time, according to Bloom, Boom founder and CEO Blake Scholl's goal is to build a wider customer base than Concorde, which caters to celebrities and super rich at a price of four times the average first-class ticket price at the time.
According to a previous report by Bloom, Scholl said that the operating cost of Boom supersonic jets will be 75% cheaper than that of the supersonic Concorde, and the air ticket price is easier to bear.
Bloomberg said that the supersonic Concorde had ushered in a new era of long-distance fast travel. In 1976, British Airways and Air France began to fly passengers across the Atlantic Ocean using supersonic Concorde, and the last aircraft was retired in 2003. Three years before retirement, an Air France Concorde plane crashed into a hotel shortly after taking off from Paris, killing all the personnel and four people on the ground.
report believes that sonic boom limits the route of supersonic Concorde aircraft over land. Compared with other jet , its high cost and relatively small size make the audience more limited.
