The "Run Across China" online marathon series will be officially launched nationwide starting from this month.
Since the global spread of the new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, various offline sports events at home and abroad have faced severe tests. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, offline marathon events have been completely suspended, and the participation needs of road runners cannot be met.
The Chinese Athletics Association said that creating the IP of the "Run Across China" series is an innovative exploration by the association to actively integrate and use network technology, data, artificial intelligence and other information technologies, and combines the needs of all parties in the current online marathon competition. It aims to lead the recovery of the industry, improve the standards of online road running events, and encourage the road running industry to jointly build a multi-dimensional event scenario that combines online and offline events from a single offline event.

In order to vigorously promote the popularity and development of the "Run Across China" series of events, the Chinese Athletics Association has formulated corresponding incentive measures. The organizing committee of the series has set up a running fund to reward provinces (cities, districts) that have achieved excellent event promotion results.
The Chinese Athletics Association will also commend provincial (autonomous and municipal) track and field sports management centers (associations), event organizing committees and related event operating companies that have made outstanding promotion contributions. For runners, running groups and other relevant individuals or groups that actively participate in the event, the series organizing committee will set up a relevant honor system to reward them. According to the
announcement, this event is an online marathon series. Each event sponsor can organize and host various sub-station races under the overall requirements of the series' event regulations and rules. The series will last from October 2020 to October 2021, covering 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan).
It is understood that Digital Xindong APP is a registration, timing and participation platform for the series and will be officially opened in early October; Tiancheng APP is an event application and service management platform and will be officially opened on September 15th.
