MediaTek officially announced that it will hold a press conference on September 9 to launch the new Kompanio (Xunkun) series chipset for tablets and laptops, but did not say the specific model of the chip. Currently, the latest Xunkun series chip is the MediaTek Xunkun 1300T, which powers the Honor Tab V7 Pro.
MediaTek Xunkun 1300T is based on the company's flagship Dimensity 1200 SoC, manufactured using a 6nm process and a 1+3+4 three-cluster core design, equipped with four large Cortex-A78 cores and four small Cortex-A55 cores. In terms of graphics processor , this chipset is bundled with a nano-core Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, which has better performance than the Mali G57 MC5 used in Xunkun 1200.
The chipset also integrates a sub-6 GHz 5G modem and supports dual SIM cards and dual-channel carrier aggregation. It supports two 1080p displays. The resolution and refresh rate of a single display can reach 1440p and 120Hz respectively, and supports HDR10+ video playback. It also supports 5G connectivity, bringing low-latency connectivity to video games. For photography, it supports up to 108MP sensor and 4K video recording at up to 60 fps. It also integrates an APU that enables features such as AI picture quality (AI-PQ) and voice commands.
MediaTek is also developing its smartphone flagship chipset offline under the Dimensity product line. The product is called MediaTek Dimensity 2000 and is manufactured using a 4nm process. So there are reports that the Taiwanese company could be the first to launch a 4nm chipset in the market.
