Taiwan's end-of-year "nine-in-one" election is approaching, and the blue and green camps are gearing up to prepare for a "battle." Now that both parties have basically finalized the candidates for the election and completed the layout, a "good show" is about to take place!
Previously, the Kuomintang Taoyuan mayor candidate Zhang Shanzheng was recruited by the Kuomintang Chairman Zhu Lilun in a "surprise" manner, which caused a lot of controversy. After Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Ke Zhien announced his candidacy, he was frantically spread, smeared and attacked by the "cyber army" of the Green Camp.
The Democratic Progressive Party is also very "busy". Taoyuan mayoral candidate Lin Zhijian was exposed to plagiarism in his papers, and the two papers suspected of plagiarism were almost word for word with the original work in many places. The candidate for the Taipei mayoral election has not been decided before, but there are rumors that Chen Shizhong, the head of Taiwan's epidemic prevention department, will run for the election. Many Taiwanese people are very dissatisfied that he abandoned epidemic prevention work and ran to run in the middle of the election. Lin Jialong, the former head of Taiwan's transportation department, also wanted to run for mayor of Taipei, but Taiwanese leader Tsai Ing-wen wanted him to run for mayor of New Taipei, so she asked him for several interviews.
On July 10, the Democratic Progressive Party officially announced the recruitment of Chen Shizhong to run for mayor of Taipei and Lin Jialong to run for mayor of New Taipei City. Tsai Ing-wen, the leader of the Taiwan authorities, praised the two of them a lot. She not only praised Chen Shizhong's "anti-epidemic achievements" like lying, but also praised Lin Jialong for taking on "responsibility and mission."
Ironically, as the head of Taiwan’s epidemic prevention department, Chen Shizhong blatantly violated epidemic prevention regulations and drank and sang with people many times during the epidemic. Recently, Taiwan's epidemic crisis has arisen again. Chen Shizhong's poor command and lax epidemic prevention have made this round of epidemic particularly serious. Under such circumstances, he actually walked away and ran for mayor of Taipei in the middle of the election. The people on the island were indignant and called him the "escape commander".
As for New Taipei mayor candidate Lin Jialong, he resigned from the position of head of the transportation department due to the derailment of the Taiwan Railways "Taroko Line" in 2021, which caused serious casualties. The arrival of the "nine-in-one" election gave him the idea of running for mayor of Taipei, but after Tsai Ing-wen's repeated persuasion, he finally nodded to run for New Taipei City .
It is worth mentioning that if Lin Jialong takes over the New Taipei territory after the election, the "Soviet Union" may face collapse. If Lin Jialong's votes are not satisfactory, Su Zhenchang and the DPP will also feel embarrassed. However, if he really loses the election, he will most likely not stay in New Taipei City, so that he will not block the path of Su Zhenchang's daughter Su Qiaohui. This may be the reason why Su Zhenchang reluctantly agreed to Lin Jialong's candidacy.
At present, the Democratic Progressive Party has proposed candidates for 18 county mayors. Tsai Ing-wen said that according to the different situations of each county and city, we will conduct multiple consultations, complete discussions and careful layout, and do our best for the election. Other counties and cities that have not yet been nominated for election will also make detailed plans to find out who has the most advantages and best meet the needs of local development, and then complete all nominations.
