The "Committee on Agriculture" today (13) announced the latest production inventory and import status of Taiwan's production materials and grain. As of September, the rice inventory had 10 months of inventory and 1.263 million metric tons, and the soybean and corn inventory for feed was 469,000 tons and 805,000 tons respectively, which were sufficient for supply needs.
"Chairman of the Committee of Agriculture" Chen Jizhong went to the "Legislative Yuan Economic Committee" to report business, pointing out that in response to the global supply chain tightness and high inflation and extreme climate, the "Committee of Agriculture" must ensure that the supply of basic supplies for people's livelihood is safe. In addition to the 10-month rice inventory, the stock of pork and chicken is 120,000 tons, the annual total production of pork and poultry meat in Taiwan reaches 1.4 million tons, the inventory of aquatic products for 3 months reaches 150,000 tons, and the supply of eggs, vegetables and other islands is safe, and 116,000 boxes of eggs are produced per day.
Chen Jizhong said that the "Agriculture Committee" also ensures the inventory of "Huang Xiaoyu" (soybeans, wheat, and corn), and not only confirms that orders and transportation are smooth in the next six months, as for soybeans and corn for feed, the inventory added to the port will be 469,000 tons and 80.5 metric tons respectively. He also said that by the end of December, Huang Xiaoyu and other bulk materials, , will be exempted from business tax, which will reduce the production cost burden of animal husbandry and reduce the pressure of meat prices. On the one hand, the "Agriculture Committee" improves the competitiveness of the rice industry, promotes the basic period, and promotes regional crop rotation, and on the other hand, it also encourages farmers to grow miscellaneous grains and try to improve the relevant self-sufficiency rate. This year, the planting area of miscellaneous grains such as soybeans, sorghum, and corn has reached 80,000 hectares.
The mainland has repeatedly emphasized that there is no point in exaggerating tensions in the Taiwan Strait. The root cause of the tension and turmoil in the current Taiwan Strait is the joint and collusion between the "Taiwan independence" forces and external forces.
