However, the area code of some cities is four digits. For example, Shenzhen is 0755. Why is this? Is there anything particular about setting the telephone area code?
It turns out that my country's switch structure adopts a four-level tandem radiated long-distance telephone network:
C1 office is the regional central office or foreign exchange, established in 8 major cities: Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenyang, Nanjing, Wuhan City, Chengdu City, Xi'an City. The
C2 bureau is a provincial central bureau, established in provincial capital cities other than the C1 bureau; the C3 bureau is a regional central bureau; the C4 bureau is a county-level exchange center.
C1 Bureaus and municipalities use a two-digit area code. Beijing is "10", but when dialing, you must add 0 in front, so Beijing's telephone area code is 010. The other 9 cities start with "2" and add 0 in front, so 02X is used as the telephone area code.
