On the 8th, the launching ceremony of the 2019-2020 Shanxi Provincial Mass Winter Sports Promotion and Popularization Activity and the Datong City “Sliding to the 2022 Winter Olympics” Youth Snow Project Promotion Activity hosted by the Shanxi Provincial Sports Bureau and the Datong Municipal People’s Government were held in Wanlong Baishan Mountain ski resort was held.
In recent years, our province has seized the opportunity of Beijing hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics, made full use of the province’s ice and snow resources, and carried out in-depth activities to promote ice and snow sports for the general public and youth. Various cities have carried out colorful, distinctive and close to the masses in winter. Life and winter sports with regional characteristics have created a good atmosphere for winter sports in our province and further optimized the winter sports environment in our province.
The 2019-2020 mass winter sports promotion activities in Shanxi Province aim to stimulate the enthusiasm of the general public in the province to participate in winter sports, cultivate the mass base of winter sports, expand the content of ice and snow sports, promote the effective development of the province's ice and snow industry, and help 2022 with practical actions 2020 Beijing Winter Olympics .
It is understood that Datong City, as the northern region of our province, has a unique natural environment and a long cold season, which is very suitable for ice and snow sports. The Municipal Sports Bureau attaches great importance to the development of ice and snow sports. It established the Datong Winter Sports Training Center on November 22 this year. It also established the Ski and Skating Association in the early stage. It is currently the only city in our province that has a sound system at the government and social levels.
Our city’s “Skiing to the 2022 Winter Olympics” youth snow sports promotion event is sponsored by the Datong Sports Bureau and the Datong Sports Federation, and hosted by the Datong Outdoor Sports Association, Datong Wanlong International Ski Resort, and the Datong Ocean Ice and Snow Roller Skating Club. It aims to promote the popularization of ice and snow sports among our city's youth, support the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics with practical actions, and promote the early realization of the goal of "300 million people participating in ice and snow sports".
