Chen Long quickly won the first game 21:9. After the exchange of venues, the situation was reversed. Lin Dan opened up the score and once led 8:1, but Chen Long chased the score to 9:9. The score between the two was tied at 16. Lin Dan stepped up his attack and tied the score at 21:17. In the third game, Chen Long stepped up his active attack but began to make more mistakes after many poor attacks. After changing venues, Lin Dan further expanded his lead and finally won the game at 21:11. The game lasted 1 hour and 18 minutes.

Chen Long said after the game that he and Lin Dan were both in very good condition today and they went all out and played very fiercely. "There was some wind in the venue.
