My life is a high wall. Since childhood, he was a high wall in the palace. When he was three years old, he was still a high wall when he entered the palace as an emperor. Later, when he was locked up in Lushun Prison, he was a high wall...—— "My First Half of Life" (Aisin Jueluo Puyi)
Puyi experienced The Qing Dynasty, the Puppet Manchukuo, the Republic of China, and the People’s Republic of China have basically witnessed China’s modern history of humiliation, resistance, and struggle. It is not so much his own choice as it is the arrangement of fate.
Originally, I wanted to write the life of Puyi—the tragicomedy of the last emperor, and I looked through the information. He, as the last emperor, as the last emperor of the feudal dynasty, complicated life, is doomed to complicated personnel. Why render those complicated again. Taking the softer side of human nature and saying something related to warmth can also be beneficial to people.
wanted to write about Puyi, so I read this "My Husband Puyi" which Li Shuxian recalled. Everyone has different opinions about their husband and wife relationship. I can feel a little bit from it-Puyi is a person who is comfortable with the situation. After experiencing the ups and downs of life, it is true that he wants to seek a stable state of mind.
Pu Yi wrote in "My First Half of Life" that the huge Forbidden City took away his maternal love and freedom when he was three years old. Anyone, including his biological parents, must kowtow to greet him when meeting him, calling himself a "minion." He doesn't have the warmth of a family like this. The life after marriage with Li Shuxian made him feel the warm atmosphere of the family and the peace and stability of ordinary couples.
Puyi's marriage
Puyi married five women in her life.
In 1922, Puyi married two women at the age of 16. Puyi's first choice for his wife was Wenxiu, a man from the Erdeite Banner of Manchuria, but Duankang believed that Wenxiu's family was poor and her appearance was not good, so the prince persuaded Puyi to re-elect Wanrong. Wenxiu was canonized as Concubine Shu. In 1931 Wenxiu divorced Puyi. The queen of
Guobuluo Wanrong, is a member of the Daur nationality. Father Rong Yuan is Minister of the Interior. In Tianjin and Manchuria, Wan Rong was left out of the cold by Pu Yi for a long time and became addicted to opium. After Japan surrendered, Wan Rong was captured by the Communist guerrillas, and later released. He died in Dunhua, Jilin Province, China due to a smoke addiction. The place of burial is unknown.
Puyi's third wife is Tan Yuling, a man from Beijing, who is a Lashi. Introduced by the daughter of Baylor Yulang (aunt Wanrong), she married Puyi in 1937 and was named "Auspicious Nobleman". Six years later, she died of illness and received the posthumous title "Ming Xian Noble Concubine". Tan Yuling is smart, capable, gentle and virtuous, and she is very fond of Pu Yi. Puyi kept her photos next to her body from beginning to end. After Tan Yuling's death, her body was kept until Puyi was captured before she explained that others were cremated. After Pu Yi married Li Shuxian, she kept Tan Yuling's ashes at home.
Puyi's fourth wife, Li Yuqin, was a Han Chinese from Changchun. In 1942, she was selected by Japanese officials to enter the palace and was named "Fu Noble". Divorced with Puyi in 1957.
In 1962, with the help of colleagues, Pu Yi married Li Shuxian, a Han nurse. Among the wives of
, Puyi loves Tan Yuling, and Li Shuxian has accompanied him for the last 6 years.
Puyi’s last marriage and the last six years
Puyi received nine years of labor reform. From December 19, 1959 to Puyi, he was given the first batch of special pardons. Later, he was arranged to be the Commissioner of Culture and History of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (1961-1967), and he was given special care, half-day work, half-day study, and rest on Sunday. More than two years after
amnesty, Pu Yi lived a single life. Once, when Mao Zedong had dinner with Pu Yi in the Yi Nian Hall, he humorously told him that the emperor can't live without a queen, he can get married again.
October 2, 1961, the second nationalStanding Committee member Zhang Zhizhong delivered an impromptu instruction from Premier Zhou to the luncheon of all cultural and historical commissioners at the Nanheyan Guest House in Beijing, asking the commissioners to get married and celebrate their twilight years, and pointed out three principles: family members who are overseas should win back, and they are divorced in China. Remarriage should strive for remarriage, and those who do not have one or two conditions will find someone to reorganize the family. Pu Yi was very happy to hear that. At that time, the Manchu girls learned that many wanted to fight for this kind of marriage, but Pu Yi didn't look for the girls of his own ethnic group.
According to Zhao Gongqin, a retired cadre of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the introduction was Sha Zengxi, the editor of the People’s Publishing House, and Zhou Zhenqiang, the commissioner of the CPPCC Cultural and Historical Data Committee.
It was one day in 1962. Zhou Zhenqiang brought a picture of a woman and everyone curiously passed it on. Upon asking, I realized that this was a photo taken by Zhou Zhenqiang's friend, Sha Zengxi, to let him help the comrade who introduced him. Passed back and forth, the photos passed to Pu Yi. Pu Yi asked: What does she do? When she learned that the woman in the photo was a medical worker, Pu Yi immediately expressed interest in Li Shuxian in the photo.
When Puyi was in Fushun Prison, she wanted to be a doctor. After she was out of prison, she wanted to be a doctor. Although she didn't become a doctor, Pu Yi always wanted to find a medical worker to be his wife. Seeing Li Shuxian's photo, Pu Yi asked Zhou Zhenqiang to meet him. At 3 pm on the seventh day of the first lunar month in 1962, Li Shuxian was accompanied by Sha Zengxi to the CPPCC Cultural Club. At that time, Zhou Zhenqiang had accompanied Pu Yi there.
Pu Yi extended his hand generously to shake hands with Li Shuxian. At a glance, Li Shuxian felt that Puyi was very simple. That day, Li Shuxian was holding a medical book in her hand. Pu Yi took it over and looked at it, and then said to her: "I also studied Chinese medicine when I was reforming. I have always been interested in medicine. I have read a lot of medical books. I have helped the infirmary with nursing work. I know a little about western medicine, and I can also measure blood pressure..." Pu Yi said of her age, Li Shuxian blurted out: "As long as the relationship is good, age shouldn't be a problem."
Within a few days of meeting Li Shuxian, Pu Yi reported the incident to the leaders of the CPPCC National Committee. So the CPPCC National Committee sent people to understand Li Shuxian's situation.
Li Shuxian had been married twice before getting to know Pu Yi. It is said that the first marriage was to a policeman from the Peking Puppet Police Station. He was executed by the government in 1955. In 1957, Li Shuxian married a bank accountant. After the marriage, the two were emotionally divorced. Li Shuxian, who was 37 years old in 1962, was a nurse in a Beijing hospital.
has been married, about 5 months. At 7 pm on April 30, 1962, Pu Yi and Li Shuxian held a wedding ceremony at the CPPCC Cultural Club.
The people attending the wedding ceremony at that time included Shen Zui, Du Yuming, Wang Yaowu and Liao Yaoxiang. After their marriage, Puyi and his wife's home was arranged in the Dongxiao Building of the National Committee of the CPPCC in the Shuncheng County Prince's Mansion.
Puyi wrote in "My First Half of Life": "On May 1st, my wife Li Shuxian and I established our own small family. This is an ordinary and truly extraordinary family for me. "Z2z
Li Shuxian's memoirs can see the life of the two after marriage. Li Shuxian believes that Puyi's daily life is inseparable from her. Every time Li Shuxian goes to the street, Pu Yi must accompany her or take her to the bus stop. When I get off work at night, I often see him waiting at the station. Whenever it is Li Shuxian's turn to be on the night shift, Pu Yi will call several times or find the hospital directly. In any case, she always has to stay in the duty room where she is. Sometimes I bring a piece of clothing, an umbrella, or buy something to eat, and I don’t go home until the last train.
Li Shuxian recalled that every time she went to the street or went shopping, if she didn't return during the meal, Puyi never picked up the chopsticks to eat first, and waited for her no matter how late. Puyi likes to watch Peking opera. Li Shuxian sometimes cannot go to watch it because of physical discomfort. As a result, Puyi is not willing to watch it alone. Pu Yi gave the reason why he didn't go, leaving Li Shuxian at home alone, and felt very uneasy. As the emperor who was once the "Ninth Five-Year Lord", Pu Yi has truly changed his state of mind.
Li Shuxian is also a woman who has experienced ups and downs, at the bottom of the old societyA woman who has struggled will inevitably have such shortcomings. Li Shuxian asked for a divorce because of Puyi's health problems. Puyi was unwilling to divorce. He did not want to be pushed to the forefront of public opinion. In order to avoid the political influence caused by Puyi's divorce again, Zhou Enlai specially interviewed Puyi and his wife. After that, Li Shuxian would no longer mention the divorce.
and Li Shuxian's recollection is all Puyi's love for her. Maybe she wants to show her best, of course we also believe that Pu Yi is really good to her. Those details cannot be fabricated.
She said: "We were attending a banquet together. He saw that I rarely stretched out chopsticks, so he would put vegetables in my small dish regardless of the public's eyes, which made me very embarrassed. One time, I discussed with him about buying a bicycle. It is more convenient to go to work or shopping. Pu Yi firmly opposes that it is not safe to ride a bicycle. If he really bought a car, he didn't even need to sleep, and he was mad."
In the summer of 1963, when a heavy rain fell, the streets and alleys accumulated. The water is a few feet deep, and no car can pass. Pu Yi was very worried. When Li Shuxian was off work, she took an umbrella and hurried to the hospital, but she had already returned home from another road. On the way, she still heard people talking: "Someone fell into the gutter while wading through the water, and there was a hand on the ditch. Umbrella!" Li Shuxian murmured in his heart: "Don't be Pu Yi!" When she opened the door in a panic, Pu Yi was not there, Li Shuxian turned and rushed into the heavy rain. Finally, I saw Pu Yi from a distance on a road, and saw that he was like a person who had just been fished out of the water, happily shouting at her: "Be careful of the sewer entrance-no cover!" It turned out that Puyi went The hospital didn't receive her and was very anxious, thinking that Li Shuxian must have been intercepted by the rain somewhere. On the way back, I suddenly found that an uncovered sewer entrance had been flooded by rain, and it was completely unclear from the surface. He knew that this was the place Li Shuxian must pass through every day to go to and from get off work. He was afraid that she would slip down inadvertently when she came here, so he would rather stay by with an umbrella. Regarding this matter, Puyi's diary on August 14, 1963 has a brief record of 8 words: "Late, rain. Pick up the wise, the wise have arrived home." is really touching. These meticulous cares are insignificant. The little things in life, the thoughtful details in life, are not always possible for many couples.
His wife catches a cold. Puyi treats it as a major event every time. He records the development of the condition in his diary day by day. He gets up five or six times a night, touches her forehead, and prepares medicine for reducing fever and boiling water for Li Shuxian.
After Li Shuxian and Pu Yi got married, they found out that he didn't pay much attention to dressing and hats, and he never put on new clothes. In times of economic difficulties, he always returned all the tickets issued to him. After the marriage, he still prevented Li Shuxian from buying him clothes. He always said, "My little girl, I should buy less clothes for me. Just enough to wear." Usually, Pu Yi doesn't even wear leather shoes. He just has a pair of cloth shoes. Satisfied.
Two people always have a little left over when they eat. Puyi is not allowed to throw it away. The next meal is always rushing to eat leftovers, and he will not let his wife eat: "You have a bad appetite, my appetite is better than you."
Puyi's single dormitory temporarily settled down, with a bedroom and a living room. Once, Director Lian Yinong of the CPPCC Secretariat said: "You are married, and the house you live in now is too small. You must not be used to it?" Pu Yi said, "I think it's pretty good!" He said, the house in the palace. Many are big, but the world is small; although the house is small now, the world is vast, because there are two worlds!
After the amnesty, Puyi lived in the Chinese society of the 1960s, how do people think about this person? A character with a special identity, and how does he treat others?
Puyi has colleagues and friends
among the staff of the Botanical Garden, and Puyi also made friends. Liu Baoan and Liu Baoshan are young people who live in a dormitory with Puyi. It is they who helped Puyi, who had not been able to live at that time, gradually adapt to the requirements of the new society. Puyi fell ill or caught a cold, they took good care of him, bringing water and food, and doing everything possible. Pu Yi also cared about the two young people. For example, when the weather changed suddenly, he would think of drying Liu Baoan and Liu Baoshan outdoors.Put the bedding in. In the botanical garden, they work together and get along day and night, which is really hard to separate. Before parting, Liu Baoan left a six-inch color photo of himself as a gift to Puyi. The back of the photo also wrote a few words: "To Mr. Puyi: Getting along is short, but the affection is deep. On the eve of the parting, I will remember this forever. Yours Young friend: Liu Baoan. March 6, 1961. "Z2z
Because of Puyi's special identity, often unknown passers-by recognize him or want to associate with him. Regarding this, he treats everyone with good intentions respectfully.
Once, Pu Yi met a person in a car. The two talked very speculatively and left addresses for each other. Later, he went to the street and passed by the man's house by accident, and then went in and sat for a while. After returning, he told his wife: "That comrade is very researched, fascinated with planting flowers and plants, and has done a lot of scientific experiments. This very ordinary friend has many strengths, which I can hardly learn, and he is indeed a laborer. The smartest."
Puyi in the eyes of foreigners
Many international friends who came to China wanted to see what the last emperor was like now, and they did not believe that they could become ordinary citizens of today.
One of the most interesting questions for foreign guests who came to see Puyi is Puyi's family life after marriage.
"I really want to know what kind of person your wife's father is? Can you talk about his life experience and occupation?" the British reporter asked.
"He is a bank clerk." Pu Yi replied.
The British reporter showed a very surprised look: "A person who has been an emperor marries the daughter of an ordinary employee as his wife. This is incredible in our country!"
"I am just a citizen now." Pu Yi thinks this is not worthy of surprise at all.
"Does your wife also go to work every day?"
"Yes, she works in a hospital and is an ordinary nurse."
"This is very interesting! I think you are living a real life now." Puyi thinks a British journalist This evaluation of is very representative.
On May 22, 1963, when Fumio Abe, a member of the Hokkaido Assembly of the Japanese Liberal Democratic Party, met Pu Yi in Beijing, the same question was raised from another angle.
Abe: As an emperor in the past, you were always served by many people in your life. Today is different, do you feel inconvenient?
Puyi: I feel the opposite. I have been pampered since childhood, living a life of opening my mouth with food and stretching out my hands with clothes. This unfortunately made me lose the ability to take care of myself that most people have. In addition, the irregular life has caused the body to become weak and sick. Therefore, it is the life of many people serving that harmed me.
After returning to China, a Japanese wrote an article called "Miracle on Earth", which described the experience of visiting Puyi and his own feelings. A French journalist listened to Pu Yi's conversation and said to him: "You are now truly acquiring your own personality."
At 2:30 am on October 17, 1967, Pu Yi passed away. At the funeral on October 19, Li Yixian, his wife Qiu Wensheng, his widow Li Shuxian, and his younger brother Pu Jie took the remains of Pu Yi to the Babaoshan Crematorium in a hearse. The nearby workers and farmers knew that more than thousands of people were surrounding the crematorium and wanted to see it. Li Yikui opened the gate to let the masses enter and pay homage to the surviving face. There were also tears and bows.
In 1978, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) memorial service (memorial service was held at the same time as Puyi, there are still Wang Yaowu, Liao Yaoxiang and other late CPPCC members), more than 400 participants, the vice chairman Liu Lantao officiated, and the ashes were moved to the revolutionary cemetery after the meeting , Pu Yi, the waste emperor can be described as a good death.
Conclusion:
more than I would like to Emperor gardener - Pu Yi
foreigners seeing Pu Yi, we can deeply feel what is China's socialist transformation.
Puyi from the last generationThe emperor was transformed into a citizen who supported the Communist Party and New China. He also gradually formed a state of mind that he would be at ease, wanting to be stable. He is kind to Li Shuxian, but he wants to exchange a little warmth from another person with his warm actions.
The transformation of thinking and the environment can make good people bad, and eventually they become poor. It can also make people better, and finally become full of hope and kindness. When a person desires the most to live well is when he sees hope after experiencing difficulties. New China gave him the right to be a truly and thorough citizen, and he would desperately cherish the days after the storm.
has seen through all the right and wrong, has gone through the ups and downs, and the warmth you want is enough. There is a safe and stable home with a person to accompany you to live a normal life. Often the less demanded, the more sighed. The most basic love and respect that people ask for is what everyone wants. In his last days, he just settled with the situation, opened his mind for stability. Z2z
Postscript: With an excerpt from "My First Half of My Life" by Aixinjueluo. Puyi
I was born in a feudal aristocratic family in Beijing in 1906, and I have been on the eve of the total collapse of the feudal autocracy since I was three years old. The last emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Until 1924, when I was nineteen years old, on this "destroying furnace"-style emperor's throne, I played with the prestige of the highest ruler that the autocratic emperors of the past dynasties have placed, and they have enjoyed it. I have also tasted the arrogant and comfortable parasitic life of cannibalism and human blood. It is in this tangible and intangible corrosive that I gradually froze my conscience as a Chinese. After the Revolution of 1911, I took advantage of the incomplete bourgeois revolution. I restlessly relied on the political capital of the "former Qing Xun Emperor". Not only did I squander the blood and sweat of the people, but under preferential treatment, I lived as usual. The "little imperial court" lived and was still in the evil spirit of "restoration" and endangered the fruits of the victory of the Revolution of 1911 that endangered the people of the motherland. Later, they simply colluded with the vicious enemy of the people of the motherland-Japanese imperialism, and became the ruler of the Manchukuo and the puppet emperor. Not only has it brought unpredictable disasters to the people in the northeast of our motherland, but it has also caused the 600 million people of our motherland to directly and indirectly suffer more than 10 million uncompensable sacrifices of precious lives and 50 billion US dollars in property losses. All of this is a serious crime that I cannot redeem forever, and I really can't lift my head to the people of the motherland.
, a person like me who has done wicked things without mercy, but under the sun of the great Communist Party and the great Chairman Mao’s Marxism-Leninism, he not only washed me out of the mud and dirt, but also brought me down. The deep-rooted reactionary and sinful thoughts in my head have also been detoxified time and time again, giving me what I am today, and also giving me a bright tomorrow to fight for a new life. My lovely motherland, the grateful people of the motherland, the great Communist Party and the great Chairman Mao, you saved me, you saved me completely, and I have no reason not to deny everything in the first half of my life; I no longer have any qualifications to do self-reflection, criticize and expose my sinful behavior without pain; I cannot help but recognize the essence of the feudal social system from the years of study and reform and the facts of education over the past few years; I cannot but From my personal experience of crime, I can clearly recognize the facts of imperialism and feudalism’s sympathy and sympathy; I can’t help but analyze the reason why I became a representative of the reactionary ruling group; I can’t help but shame and regret. In his memories, think about it: I was blindfolded by the old social system, blocked my ears, paralyzed my sense of smell, and frozen my conscience. That’s why I became such a person who wanted to drive backwards and violate humanity. Only a great sinner with the laws of social development will become a great fool who walks on the road to despair. This is the reason why I have repeatedly committed irreparable and serious sins. With the advancement of the historical wheels of the laws of social development, on the eve of the destruction of the feudal social system, I was dragged onto a crumbling throne by the remnants of the society at that time. Perhaps this is my misfortune. However, in the development law of transition from feudal society to bourgeois democratic revolution to a socialist society step by step, I was lucky enough to catch up with the great Mao Zedong era, and how lucky I met the Chinese Communist Party. If it is not in this era of the complete proletarian revolution, how can I still be allowed to have what I am today?
Yes, I actually caught up with this unprecedented great era. I actually have today and tomorrow, if it weren’t because the Communist Party led the Chinese people to completely destroy the feudal system for thousands of years and the imperialist aggressive forces and it for a century. Stray dog,If it were not for the eradication of the dark old society of cannibalism and the establishment of a new China, of course, I would be buried in the historical garbage dump just like the extinct objects of many dynasties in history. So what is my mood now? Only on the basis of knowing the sins of the first half of my life can I successfully fulfill my current only task of learning, re-learning, reforming and reforming, and prepare the conditions for re-behavior to redeem the past sins. As for the future problem, it is in the direction of moving towards an infinitely happy future. I still have to strive for my own bright future in the repeated process of continuous learning and transformation, until my heart is not beating.
This is my understanding of the past, my determination for the present and my only goal for the future, that is, my ambition to describe the sinful process in the first half of my life.
