60-year-old Zhou Chuanhe is an employee of the General Administration Office of the People's Victory Canal Security Center of Henan Province. In 1980, he took the baton to guard the People's Victory Canal from his retired father, and worked for 42 years.

Zhou Hongchang was transferred from Kaifeng to the then Yellow River Sanitation Project. In the early 1950s, the level of mechanization was low, and the construction mainly relied on manpower. People marked the weight on each stone in the stone factory and relied on human and animal trucks. After several turnovers, the stones with the weight and quantity were transported to the site. In this way, in March 1952, the first phase of the construction task was completed; on October 31 of the same year, Chairman Mao visited the canal head and opened the canal head gate with his own hand. Zhou Chuanhe used his body to close the hole to reduce the collapse area. Another colleague used a shovel to continuously bring mud. Zhou Chuanhe staggered his body bit by bit and quickly blocked the soil into the rat hole... In this way, half an hour before and after, the rat hole was finally blocked, avoiding a breach.
Until now, whenever Zhou Chuanhe recalls, the thrilling scenes always appear in his mind as clearly as a movie. "I'm afraid that if there is a breach, a large amount of water will rush into the downstream fields, and the crops that the villagers have worked hard to plant will be in vain." Zhou Chuanhe said that he often used this as an example later to warn young colleagues who had just started working.
Even in the 1990s, when communication methods were progressing, communication equipment would be interrupted unexpectedly and information was not smooth. "Once, a large amount of water was released from the upstream, but the downstream water volume was enough.
