Introduction:
In the 1970s, the United States extended an olive branch to China for its own interests in international relations, and the two sides began to break the ice after more than 20 years of confrontation. At the same time, China has also obtained its legal seat in the United Nations.
At that time, the most anxious one was undoubtedly the father and son of the Jiang family who had been entrenched in Taiwan's treasure island for decades. But at this time, not only did Chiang Kai-shek not only did not have effective measures to save the tide, but his own body was gradually weakening.

April 5, Chiang Kai-shek suddenly felt energetic and pulled the Chiang Ching-kuo in front of the hospital bed and gave some sincere advice. That night, he passed away.
1, Yangmingshan , Chiang Kai-shek was in a car accident
In the 1970s, just entering a new decade, Chiang Kai-shek's body quickly declined, from having only had a few colds a year and walking vigorously every day, to having constant serious illnesses and even bedridden. This major and sudden change in
is directly related to the car accident that occurred in 1969. That year, Chiang Kai-shek, who was 82 years old, still controlled the military and political power, and turned his hands into clouds and rain on the island.
On the morning of September 16, as usual, a military meeting chaired by Chiang Kai-shek personally was held in Yangmingshan, and senior generals from all branches of the military attended one by one.
On the same day, Chiang Kai-shek discussed with the generals attending the meeting some issues within the international situation and the army.
On the afternoon, he did not participate in the discussions of each group and returned to his residence directly. After the rest, the driver took the couple out for a ride in accordance with his habits that he had formed over the years.
Everything was as usual until I returned to my residence at five o'clock and passed a bus stop sign in Yongfu and had a car accident. At that time, a bus happened to be parked there, and passengers who had been waiting for a long time were getting on the bus one after another. On the way down the mountain, one military vehicle after another drove over. The military conference had just ended. The soldiers who had been sitting for a day, fighting for a day and quarreling for a day were impatient to go back. The drivers were also anxious to go home, and even on the mountain road, they drove their cars very fast.
By chance, Chiang Kai-shek's convoy, buses, and military vehicles going down the mountain intersected at the same location. The driver who was driving the road in the front of the
fleet had just turned a corner when a jeep suddenly rushed out from the back of the bus.
Seeing the other party rushing towards him, the driver quickly stepped on the brakes and then he avoided them in a thrilling manner. If the driver's reaction is one second later, the two cars may be about to run into it.
At this time, Chiang Kai-shek's car Cadillac followed closely behind. Perhaps it was too nervous, and the royal driver mistakenly stepped on the accelerator as the brake. After a "bang", the two cars were knocked out of big holes one by one.
, without any precaution, Chiang Kai-shek, who was resting with his eyes closed, bounced forward along his inertia, and was directly hit on the partition, and blood flowed down the corner of his mouth. The Soong Mei-ling next to her, the old lady in her 70s was hit and cried on the spot. The staff of
were very nervous to send the couple to the hospital. After all, they were both in their seventies and eighties. No one dared to predict how much impact it would have on their bodies if they had such a big car accident.
After examination, the doctor concluded that Chiang Kai-shek suffered an external injury and could only cultivate for a while, and even Soong Mei-ling, who kept shouting, was not seriously injured. When Jiang Jingguo, who rushed to the hospital, heard this, a hung heart finally fell to the ground.
The accident caused several parties, including the driver of the jeep, could not escape the French Open, and the general sitting in the car was also dismissed from his post. The security personnel who were traveling with him on the same day also took the punishment.
What is outrageous is that the only person directly responsible - the driver who directly caused the crash was safe and sound under the advice of Soong Mei-ling.
2. The disasters are endless, and the body is rapidly weakening
Just when everyone thought that this matter was revealed, Chiang Kai-shek quickly discovered something was wrong: his originally healthy body took a sharp turn after the car accident, and all kinds of problems lurking in his body suddenly surged out.
A few weeks later, it was time for Chiang Kai-shek to have a routine physical examination. This time, the doctor found something unusual on the electrocardiogram. After consultation by experts from relevant parties, it was confirmed that Chiang Kai-shek's heart valve was seriously traumatized.
This time the severe damage caused Chiang Kai-shek's heart to continue to develop lesions, expanding and even failing. In addition, he is getting older and his physical and mental condition is getting worse and worse.
Chiang Kai-shek once said to his subordinates who visited him that the car accident seriously damaged his health and greatly reduced his life span.
In November 1971, another incident happened that made Chiang Kai-shek's health worse. That day, he had a poor bowel movement and the adjutant brought him a gluing ball. Unexpectedly, the confused adjutant stuffed two bottles in the wrong direction.
When Chiang Kai-shek felt the severe pain, the blood had already poured into the toilet. Although this time it was not a major injury, his already weak body even more uncomfortable due to subsequent inflammation and ulceration.
In June 1972, after the medical examination, the doctor gave the conclusion that he needed to give up all his work and rest for half a year. The people around him persuaded Chiang Kai-shek to put his health first.
However, Soong Mei-ling and others were worried that this might lead to a loss of power and strongly opposed it. Chiang Kai-shek also had this concern, so he did not follow the doctor's advice, and as a result, he became unconscious a month later.
As the "pillar" of Taiwan's political arena, Chiang Kai-shek's health is highly confidential. Internally, we must ensure the stability of the island and safeguard the interests of the Jiang family; externally, we must mediate with the United States and other countries to avoid becoming a "abandoned son".
But as he appears shorter and he misses major events more and more, rumors that he is in poor health will soon be in a lifetime are becoming more and more popular on the island. The rumors outside
were very loud. In order to fight back, the Jiang family arranged for Chiang Kai-shek to attend several major family occasions with his sick body, and took several seemingly healthy photos and posted them through photography skills.
At that time, it was not only the Taiwanese people, but also the Americans. The Jiang family invited authoritative experts in heart disease to Taiwan and these actions were naturally hidden from the Americans. They just didn't know how Chiang Kai-shek's body deteriorated.
In order to find out the truth, Ma Kangwei came to visit her home on the excuse of leaving office and saying goodbye. This time, with Soong Mei-ling's mediation, Chiang Kai-shek was calm and normal throughout the whole process. Although he didn't talk much, his mental state and thinking reaction were still good.
Except for telling the other party that his legs were uncomfortable and he could only sit and not stand, Ma Kangwei was fooled and did not find anything wrong. So after returning to China, he was unable to provide useful information to the White House.
3. The eldest son Jingguo, who took over his father's position,
. There are two types of people under Chiang Kai-shek's men who are easily promoted and reused. One is . Huangpu and other students who graduated from military academies with him personally serving as principals. Such people are called "Son of the Emperor". As long as they have a certain degree of strength, they will soon stand out.
Another type is from Zhejiang. The reason is very simple. They are Chiang Kai-shek's fellow villagers. Because Chiang Kai-shek, a storied figure who has been active in Chinese politics for a whole half century, was born in Zhejiang more than 100 years ago.
lost his father at a young age and raised by his kind mother with great difficulty. At the age of 14, under the arrangement of his mother, Mao Fumei, a traditional woman in the next village who was five years older than him.
On the day of getting married, there were many people watching, and the firecrackers kept ringing, and the groom with a childlike heart squeezed among the children to grab the firecrackers that fell on the ground. The relatives and friends who were watching the ceremony couldn't help laughing when they saw this. After the laughter and joy at the wedding, the conflict between the couple who walked together due to feudal customs gradually emerged. In 1910, Chiang Ching-kuo was born, and Chiang Kai-shek finally welcomed his first child. He was undoubtedly very happy, but this did not improve his relationship with Mao Fumei.

The Jiang family father and son have been parting for a full 12 years. In 1937, 27-year-old Chiang Ching-kuo returned to China with his wife and children. During those years in the Soviet Union, he was influenced by communism and even made public remarks during Chiang Kai-shek's counter-revolutionary period in 1927, severing relations with his father.
So after Chiang Ching-kuo came back, the first thing Chiang Kai-shek did was to peel off the Soviet mark on him first. At that time, what Chiang Ching-kuo was asked to do was to read ancient books and write diaries, and Chiang Kai-shek would send people to talk to him every month. This is true for a long time. Jiang Ching-kuo was appointed by his father to take up his position. He did not disappoint his father's expectations, and took the emotional governance system as the starting point and took the Kuomintang's power step by step.
Chiang Kai-shek had hardly believed in anyone in his life. He had few people who had a good ending in the end. However, his wife Soong Mei-ling and eldest son Chiang Ching-kuo are the only two people he trusts.
Chiang Kai-shek only has two children in his life, and his second son Jiang Wei-kuo 's life experience is still a mystery. It has been rumored that he is not Chiang Kai-shek's son. Regardless of whether it is true or false, Chiang Kai-shek's political resources were given to Chiang Ching-kuo.
For the seriously ill Chiang Kai-shek, the most gratifying thing is that his eldest son Chiang Ching-kuo had long entered the core level of the Kuomintang. Chiang Kai-shek spent all his thoughts on paving the way for Chiang Ching-kuo through reforms and allowed him to successfully take over power from himself in 1969.
Even if he can't do it next moment, he doesn't need to worry about his affairs. After all, at this time, Chiang Ching-kuo had completely stood firm and controlled the situation.
4. His father passed away, and Jiang Zi was deeply saddened
Jiang Jingguo was a filial son. After Chiang Kai-shek was seriously ill, he not only searched for famous doctors to diagnose and treat his father, but he had to visit his bedside every day.
In 1972, Chiang Kai-shek wrote two sentences with his shrinking hand: "Take the rise and fall of the country as his own responsibility, and put personal life and death outside the control." When Chiang Ching-kuo took this letter from his father, he immediately understood what he meant.
When he got home, he framed it and hung it in a conspicuous place. After a hundred years, he engraved this sentence on the tomb.
In 1975, Chiang Kai-shek's health became worse and worse, and the frequency of visits by Chiang Ching-kuo increased to three times a day.
Jiang Ching-kuo later recalled that during this period, Chiang Kai-shek had been recurring in danger and improvement, and he spent all day in worry. In fact, everyone knows that Chiang Kai-shek can't delay it for long.
April 5th morning, Chiang Ching-kuo went to visit his father before work as usual. Chiang Kai-shek was in good spirits this day and called Chiang Ching-kuo, who had already left, back. Even if he spoke intermittently, he still had to instruct his son to "care for his health."
Although Chiang Ching-kuo was only in his 60s, he was not as strong as Chiang Kai-shek at his age.
Hearing this, Chiang Ching-kuo thought that his father's physical condition had improved again. But unexpectedly, it turned out to be a last word for Chiang Kai-shek to himself.
In the evening, Jiang Jingguo came to visit again. Seeing that his father looked good, he went back with confidence.
That night, it was raining heavily outside, and the popular drama "Body Guard" was being broadcast on the TV in the room. The alarm ringtone suddenly rang. It turned out that the doctor on duty found that Chiang Kai-shek, who had fallen asleep, suddenly slowed down his pulse.
Jiang Jingguo immediately rushed to Chiang Kai-shek when he received the news. Because he cried very hard, Soong Mei-ling wanted the doctor to give him a sedative. The rescue process of
has been repeated several times. There was a time when the crisis was turned into safety, but soon fell into danger again. More than three hours later, this person who had profoundly influenced China for decades was pronounced dead on the Qingming Festival.
Before Chiang Kai-shek died, he did not leave any oral or written will. His ideas had long been explained to his family in daily life. The so-called will that was later made public was just artificially fabricated.

Conclusion
After Chiang Kai-shek's death, according to his wishes during his lifetime, his body was not buried but was placed in Cihu in accordance with the customs of his hometown. The robe and jacket he wore was wearing when he left the mainland.
When Chiang Ching-kuo passed away, the coffin was placed about four miles away from his father's tomb. Like his father, Chiang Ching-kuo was not buried, looking at his hometown across the sea.
Dynasties have passed, and not only has the wish of the two Chiang Kai-shek not been realized, but their tombs have been destroyed, and the Kuomintang has become a laughing stock. I wonder what the two of them are thinking in their hearts?
However, their descendants fulfilled their wish to return to their hometown to worship their ancestors. However, things have changed, and Fenghua is no longer the Fenghua they left when they left.
