From 1964 to 1980, during the 16-year construction that runs through the three five-year plans, the country's total investment in the third-tier regions reached more than 200 billion yuan, and its investment in the central and western regions accounted for 40% of the country's total investment in infrastructure construction during the same period, with 4 million workers, cadres, intellectuals, PLA officers and soldiers and thousands of migrant workers.
In Luoerling Town, Huoshan County, this was sparsely populated and the conditions were very difficult, but the spiritual world of the third-tier builders was very fulfilling and energetic. We implement the guidelines of production first and life, build factories one by one brick and one tile, and build our own home with grass and one wood.
This large-scale third-tier military factory was built in the mountains. The research institute is like a small society, with factory areas, scientific research buildings, living areas, auditoriums, , hospitals, schools and guesthouses, etc., production and life infrastructure.
The slogan at that time was: "Dig deep holes, accumulate grain, do not seek hegemony, prepare for war, prepare for wasteland, and serve the people", "Good people, good things to go to the third line".
The entire factory area is built along the mountains, and along the steps, the former canteens, clubs, cinemas and other buildings appear in front of you one by one. At that time, the life of military factory was rich and colorful and full of vitality. The factory had to play movies every week and organize activities every month, and it was even more lively and during festivals.
In that era when spiritual and material life were extremely scarce, life in the factory was like a paradise on earth. Every weekend, people in the county town would travel dozens of miles to the factory to watch open-air movies.
And with the relocation of the base, the equipment was uniformly demolished and taken away, but most of the old factories and residential areas that could not be moved away were in a state of abandonment.
Except for a few houses, retired employees and nearby villagers, most of them are unmanaged and left to be abandoned and covered with weeds. Many residential and office buildings have dilapidated walls and severely have signs of collapse.
On the narrow road, there are weeds and trees on both sides, and tall bushes have long climbed onto the buildings. The factory has been abandoned, the wide, flat and lively cement court is gone, and its old appearance has disappeared.
Time flies, and the third-line construction of , which once belonged to that passionate years, has gone far away from us. Millions are life, how many people can remember it now?
