deep memory of sister Deng Xiaolan
People's Daily President and Editor-in-Chief Deng Tuo, the daughter of 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony and closing ceremony singing Greek Olympic song " Olympic Ode " and other mountain village " Malanhua Choir " and other such as Deng Xiaolan recalled the revolutionary stories of his father during his lifetime and sent a message to some military news and propaganda reporters of the former Beijing Military Region to write a new book "Records of Military Writing and Talents". Speaking of the Malan Village , she said:
I will protect her with my lifelong emotions
Deng Xiaolan
Deng Xiaolan
1. When my father served as the director of the newspaper " Anti-Enemy Newspaper "
former Beijing Military Region " Comrades-Enemy Newspaper" - Jincha Ji "Anti-Enemy Newspaper"! My thoughts suddenly returned to my father Deng Tuo's thrilling battle years of "holding a pen in one hand and holding a gun in the other":
1937 "July 7 Incident" in Lugou Bridge. In September, the Eighth Route Army led by the Communist Party of China advanced into the Beiyue zone connected by Shanxi, Hebei and Chahar, behind the enemy, to fight against the Japanese army invading Taiyuan. On September 25, the Eighth Route Army won the first battle of Pingxingguan. On November 7, 1937, the Communist Party of China established the first anti-Japanese base behind enemy lines - the Jin-Cha-Hebei Border Region, and led by Nie Rongzhen to raise the flag of fighting against Japan and saving the country behind enemy lines in Wutai Mountain.
In this golden autumn season, a convertible truck carries more than a dozen intellectual youths from enemy-occupied areas, traveling through mountains and rivers and dust toward the Shanxi-Cha-Hebei Border Region. Among them is my father, Deng Tuo.
On November 18, 1937, the military region's leadership moved to Fuping County, Hebei Province. Nie Rongzhen, Secretary of the Jin-Cha-Hebei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Huang Jing, Director of the Political Department of the Military Region, and Shu Tong, Director of the Political Department of the Military Region, jointly agreed to establish the Jin-Cha-Hebei District Party newspaper - "Anti-Enemy Newspaper".
On December 11, 1937, the Anti-Enemy Newspaper was officially founded in Wenxian Street, Fuping County during the battle against the first siege of the Japanese invaders. The newspaper is sponsored by the Political Department of the Military Region, Shu Tong is also the director of the newspaper, and the famous photographer Sha Fei serves as the deputy director.
The party organizations and army of Jin, Chahar and Hebei Province regard the Anti-Enemy News as a banner for fighting against the Japanese invaders on the ideological front and news front. Relying on this newspaper, it promotes the masses, organizes the masses, mobilizes the masses, and arms the masses, making it a public opinion tool for adhering to guerrilla war behind enemy lines and building revolutionary bases, and becomes a strong link between the Party and the masses in the War of Resistance.
In mid-April 1938, the Jin-Chahar-Hebei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to use the Anti-Enemy News Agency as the official newspaper of the provincial party committee, appointing his father Deng Tuo as the director of the newspaper, and presided over the Anti-Enemy News Agency. My father was 26 years old at that time. When my father presided over the editorial work and newspaper planning meeting for the first time, he formulated three policies: First, no matter how frequent and arduous guerrilla warfare is behind enemy lines, he must insist on publishing; second, increase comments, cooperate with the needs of war, actively organize editorials, monographs and short comments, and strengthen guidance and combativeness; third, change to lead printing, shorten the issue period, change the three-day journal to another day, and promptly report news to the people behind enemy lines.
In May 1938, Deng Tuo was appointed president of the Anti-Enemy Newspaper
Once heard from his father that they overcame many difficulties and secretly transported several eight-page lead printers and a pair of No. 4 lead characters from Jizhong . There was no casting furnace and word mold. They made a zipper box with clay, and used word molds to make word molds one by one. Without ink, they mobilized the masses to scrape the soot bottom of the pot and mixed it with rosin and hemp oil. My father often made his face black, and everyone called it funny. For "black brand ink"; without paper, they used the hemp paper that the people used to paste windows, built a paper mill by themselves, used straw, wheat straw, corn rod, and hemp rope head as raw materials, crushed and cooked into paper with stone mills, and baked them into paper one by one on the firewall ...
On August 16, 1938, the first lead-printed "Anti-Enemy Newspaper" met the masses. This clear and beautiful newspaper arranged in the font number four is the mouthpiece of the party in the border area, and the spiritual pillar of a strong cultural iron army and the people's struggle against the enemy.
In September 1938, the Japanese army launched an "Eighth Route Siege" on the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region. During the one and a half months of anti-"siege", the Anti-Enemy News reported a large number of reports on the heroic battle of the main forces, guerrillas and the people supporting the army, which greatly inspired the fighting spirit of the military and civilians in the border region. The newspaper published 18 important editorial and commentary articles, 13 of which were written by his father Deng Tuo.
On November 7, 1939, a unit of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region surrounded and annihilated more than 2,000 Japanese elite troops in Huangtuling, Yi County. Lieutenant General Abe Guessue , who was personally supervising the battle, was killed by the mortar . Abe Hitoshi is a family member of Japanese Prime Minister Abe Nobuyuki . On November 25, the Anti-Enemy News reported the victory in a prominent position in a page and conducted continuous reports, which greatly encouraged the fighting enthusiasm of the anti-Japanese military and civilians and shocked the Japanese government and the Japanese government and the public.
"Anti-Enemy News" played an increasingly prominent role in the War of Resistance Against Japan and was unanimously praised by the Party and the people. Lu Dingyi, the Propaganda Minister of the Eighth Route Army Headquarters, wrote an article in Yan'an's " Liberation " magazine to praise: "The work of the Jin-Cha-Hebei Daily has indeed been an example and has given us valuable experience." After patriot Li Gongpu came to the border area for inspection, he wrote in the book "North China's enemy behind the enemy - Jin-Cha-Hebei": "Anti-Enemy News" is the authority of the public opinion circle in the Jin-Cha-Hebei border area, and is also the sowinger of the new culture of the anti-enemy." Marshal Nie Rongzhen called it "the clarion call of the nation."
The victorious spirit of his father Deng Tuo was filled with his father's heart. In November 1938, he wrote a truly touching and magnificent poem "Comrades from the Newspaper" to commemorate the first anniversary of the founding of the Anti-Enemy Newspaper and wrote the article "This Year". This month, the number of newspapers printed has increased to 6,000 copies.
"Enlighten the Comrades of the Newspaper" is as follows:
Pen array opens the frontier, and the long-term hook cuts the wind,
enlightens the stars in sight, and fights against the enemy as if they are like a rainbow.
6 wield its sword, rushing up thousands of heroes,
6 Script flags follow the war drums and enter Kanto.
Malan Village is a beautiful and remote mountain village located in the remnants of the North Taihang River. It is surrounded by mountains and the hillside is surrounded by dense forests. It is rich in walnuts, chestnuts, persimmons, and black dates. There is a clear Rouge River flowing through the village. In April 1939, the newspaper "Anti-Enemy Newspaper" moved here, and this inconspicuous small mountain village became one of the newspaper bases.
The anti-"mopping-up" war in the border area started in early November 1939. It lasted for one and a half months. The Anti-Enemy News set off from Datai Village on the south of Shenxian Mountain in Fuping, relied on a mule and donkey transportation team, and carried lead-printing machinery. During the three-sided encirclement of the Japanese army, he traveled through five counties of Fuping, Fuping, Quyang, Tangxian, Wanxian and Mancheng. On the way, he published 8 major news articles, published 6 editorials, 4 "anti-sweeping-up" columns, 1 document of the border party committee, and 1 communication article. It took 40 days before returning to Fuping Beishan Mountain and quickly reported.
In order to establish the broadest anti-Japanese national unity front, Anti-Enemy News opened special issues such as "Farmers of War", "Border Region Women", and "Border Region Youth", which communicated the relationship between all sectors of the border region and the government, and established a rural grassroots regime for farmers.
In the war, Deng Tuo led everyone to transform a light printing machine
On February 12, 1940, the Jin-Cha-Hebei Border Region Branch of the China Youth News Journalists Society was established, and 9 comrades including his father Deng Tuo and Sha Fei were elected as directors.
On August 20, 1940, the Eighth Route Army's " Hundred Regiments Battle " began its general attack and won a great victory. His father Deng Tuo personally brought a group of young reporters to the front line of Zhengtai Railway for interviews, and posted several large and long reports in succession.
In October 1940, at the cadre meeting preparing for the anti-"sweeping" campaign, his father Deng Tuo proposed the opinions of printing equipment to lighten the and transform the lightweight lead printing machine. The newspaper established a team for the transformation of the printing press and a team for the transformation of the lead printing frame. The newspaper female reporter Ying Luwei died heroically in the anti-"sweeping" at the age of 22.
In order to launch the people in the border areas to fight against each other, his father Deng Tuo proposed a clear editorial idea: to run newspapers for illiterate peasants, so that they can understand the situation of China's War of Resistance Against Japan and the World Anti-Fascist War by looking at pictures or listening to them. The newspaper immediately published the "Picture of the Current Situation of the War of Resistance Against Japan" and the "Picture of the Evolution of the Situation in the Southern Soviet-German Front", which was loved by the masses.
On November 7, 1940, the Northern Branch decided to rename the Anti-Enemy Daily (the next day magazine) from the 457th issue " Jinchaji Daily ". His father Deng Tuo was changed from the former director of the newspaper to the president. From then on, "Anti-Enemy News" entered its indelible glorious history.
2. The article is connected, and parents build their nests, Malan Village
I heard from uncles and aunts that the combination of parents is still quite romantic and touching.
By 1941, his father Deng Tuo was 30 years old and became an older comrade in the newspaper and had no partner. The marriage event was even more eye-catching. Aunt Liu Guangyuan, who was the organization minister of the Border District Women's Rescue Association, discovered the county women's cadre - my mother Ding Yilan . My mother Ding Yilan is from Fujian, she is a fellow villager with her father, and her mother is also an intellectual from a big city. Aunt Liu was very happy and thought that her father and mother were made of heaven and earth, and felt that she had to be this matchmaker. Aunt Liu found her father Deng Tuo, described her mother Ding Yilan, and said, "I'm going to join you in the future. You can do it yourself!"
Soon, an unfortunate thing happened in Pingshan County , which led to a strange fate between her father and mother.
In February 1941, a veteran female cadre Chen Zhuni, a village in Pingshan County, was conspired to kill by her stubborn feudal father-in-law and her husband because she actively participated in anti-Japanese activities. Ding Yilan, the mother who also serves as a correspondent for the Jin-Cha-Ji Daily, personally visited the field investigation and learned about it. She wrote a nearly 3,000-word communication "Bloody Complaint - Details of the Chen Zhuni's Tragedy", and signed the "-way group " mailing newspaper. His father Deng Tuo personally handled the manuscript. After the news was published widely, the murderer was punished and Chen Zhuni was excused. The righteous passion and fluent writing style that are filled with the lines linger in the heart of his father Deng Tuo for a long time. Who is the "Luqun"? It is understood that "Lu Qun" is the mother Ding Yilan mentioned by Aunt Liu. It seems that this girl, who is known as "a flower in the Jin-Cha-Hebei Border Region", is really well-deserved! His father Deng Tuo no longer hesitated and wrote a letter to his mother Ding Yilan.
Of course, in this letter, my father Deng Tuo did not talk about private matters. But as the president, she congratulated the article on her post, praised her mother Ding Yilan for her good writing, and encouraged her to contribute more articles to the newspaper in the future. My mother Ding Yilan was overjoyed to get the president's handwritten letter. From then on, the two began to go back and forth, and passed on letters from the simplified Chinese characters.
The "anti-sweeping" in the fall of 1941 was when his mother Ding Yilan directly participated in a dangerous and tense battle. During the nightly transfer of the deep mountains and old forests and dark roads, my mother Ding Yilan's shoes ran away and the stones were embedded in the flesh. When he met Comrade Liu Ren, the Organization Minister of the Central Branch, on the way, Minister Liu asked, "Have you heard about the situation in the newspaper?" His mother Ding Yilan answered bluntly: "I heard that the comrades in the newspaper were surrounded in Gulonggou in , and the situation was very serious." After hearing this, Minister Liu Ren hurriedly sent someone to rescue him.
After the anti-"sweeping" ended, his mother Ding Yilan received a letter from her father Deng Tuo and said angry: "Some people say that the anti-'mopping' newspaper suffered a lot of losses, which was not intentional slander, but also created rumors." His mother Ding Yilan then reported that the fire was coming for her. Although her mother Ding Yilan felt an indescribable grievance, she thought that this was her father Deng Tuo's prestige in order to maintain the prestige of the newspaper. Mother Ding Yilan felt that her heart was getting closer and closer to her father Deng Tuo's.
In December 1941, under the special arrangement of Aunt Liu, the lovers of his father Deng Tuo and his mother Ding Yilan finally met at the Children's Nursing Hospital of the Jinchaji Border Area, a border area of Wakou Sichuan. My mother Ding Yilan saw a tall young scholar with a gentle and elegant demeanor, but the firmness of a warrior was revealed between her eyebrows; my father Deng Tuo saw a beautiful girl with a slim figure, a full moon face, bright eyes and white teeth, with a few lively and cheerfulness in the quiet. They all felt that the other party was the "he" and "her" they had described thousands of times in their hearts!
That night, my father Deng Tuo was in full bloom and wrote a poem "First Meeting":
The sound of the curved water in the mountain village is deep at night, and the bright moon is frost and flowers fall on the woods and sky.
Looking forward to the clear eyes, I will send you deep thoughts on who?
reserved phrases are long and memorable, and regret that the dam is not far away.
When he was in his box, he read thousands of new poems and novels.
One day, my father Deng Tuo asked his mother Ding Yilan for a photo and wrote a poem later:
reflecting the water and glowing brightly, and the two rooms are glimpsed without dust;
Spring comes and autumn condenses ice and fire, and the war fire is free to the people.
In the early spring of 1942, they strolled again on the side of Hutuo River outside Xibaipo Village. In the wind and sand dancing wildly in the sky, they agreed to each other: to be with each other for life and live together forever. My father Deng Tuo wrote a poem "Heart Alliance" that night:
The heart alliance on the banks of the Hutuo River is set in, and the wind and sand are roaring all over the fields.
This is the same year, and I remember this deep affection in the world.
A few days later, my father Deng Tuo wrote a poem "Fighting Love":
The green mountains on the battlefield, the wind and sand in the north are spring.
White clouds float to the end of the past, and the river water goes to Changdong.
My life experience is three lives, and my heart is always red.
High love is for me, the world is endless.
Father Deng Tuo wrote a marriage application report to Commander Nie Rongzhen, who was then the secretary of the Central Bureau of Jin-Cha-Hebei. He wrote it with full emotions and literary talent, like a moving prose poem.
On the eve of the March 8th in 1942, Commander Nie Rongzhen approved his father and mother's marriage. On March 7, my father and mother put on some mountain local products such as red dates and walnuts, and invited a few comrades to hold a simple wedding. The next day was the "March 8" Day, and Commander Nie and his wife Zhang Ruihua held a family dinner for the couple. A pair of lovers finally formed a "battlefield green couple", and people praised him: "This is really a 'talented man and beautiful woman'!"
3. "I" born in the war has tied my roots to Malan Village
After the parents got married, my mother still returned to work in the fourth division of the Jin-Cha-Hebei Border Region and lived a life of "Cowherd and Weaver Girl" with her father. Half a year later, my mother was transferred to the newspaper to work on information, and sheds important political, economic, cultural and other information from the enemy's telecommunications every day for reference by the border leaders. From then on, my mother, like her father, had an indissoluble bond with the party's journalism cause.
In the autumn of 1943, the enemy launched another big "sweep". At this time, my mother was six or seven months pregnant with me.
In order to get rid of the enemy's roundup, the newspaper decided to move to the "no man's land". Everyone rushed day and night in the biting wind, and had to walk a mountain road of 180 miles every day. My mother, who was pregnant with Liujia, could not follow the team anymore. Her father had to "stand" her mother in a large stone cave in the mountains of Lingshou County. The entrance was very narrow. My mother and the military doctor who left her to take care of her could only crawl in and out until the enemy retreated. It was December. My mother's due date was only more than half a month. My father sent a guard to pick her up. The mountains were covered by ice and snow. My mother rode on the horse, and the horse's hooves slipped step by step on the ice slope, which made my mother's stomach feel severely painful. She finally arrived in Yijiazhuang, Fuping County, and her mother was about to give birth.
Yijiazhuang has just been robbed by the enemy and many houses have been burned out. They found an empty room from their fellow villager, and the doors and windows were burned to the end of the border. They borrowed bed sheets from the landlord, covered the doors and windows, and brought a bundle of firewood. The firewood was wet, and the room was filled with smoke when it was lit. It was the middle of winter, and my mother was trembling with cold. Early the next morning, a baby girl was born. This is me.
After growing up and sensible, my mother told me that when I was born, my little face turned purple. In order to commemorate my unusual birth experience and to thank my mother, my father named me Xiaolan.
Deng Xiaolan and her adoptive parents
In the war-torn environment at that time, it was impossible for the mother to take care of her children by herself. As soon as I was just one month old, my mother fostered me at the home of the village chief Chen Shouyuan. Aunt Chen had just weaned her third child and was well-fed and was just enough to raise me. Uncle and aunt treated me as a kind of flesh and blood and raised me until I was 3 years old. During the period, with the great victory of the Chinese people in the eight years of the War of Resistance, on August 23, 1946, Zhangjiakou, an important town in North China, was liberated, and the Jin-Hebei-Cha Daily was ordered to enter Zhangjiakou, and the working and living environment of their parents was greatly improved. At this time, the mother thought that she should take Xiao Lan back.
received a letter from my mother. Although my adoptive parents couldn't bear to leave me, they still understood their feelings better. My adoptive parents carried me on the road with their arms and shoulders, crossed mountains and ridges, and walked more than 200 miles before they sent me to Zhangjiakou.
In order to wean me, I slept separately from my godmother for the first time. At night, I cried and screamed in a hoarse voice. My godmother heard my heart-wrenching cry and took me back with tears. In this way, I sent it over and brought it back, and I had to work hard several times a night. Two mothers, one crying in this room and the other crying in that room.
I became a child of two families, with two pairs of parents, and in the following days and months, the two families have maintained close contact. The true feelings that the people in the old district raised me with milk have been engraved in my heart.
Dengtuo and his children
4. Returning to their hometown, I am willing to integrate the rest of my life into the land of Malan Village
In a blink of an eye, it was 1997, and it was my sister and I Deng Xiaohong the first time I went back to Fuping to visit the villagers. After more than 50 years of vicissitudes, the people can still clearly call out my nickname. Those kind calls made me cry and choked up. I only took two days off at that time and couldn't stay in Fuping. I took a quick look at the scene for more than a day. I saw that the people's lives were very difficult. After I came back, I thought about how to help the people there. My idea of helping the villagers in the old district has received the support of my lover Liu Qinggang, but it has been delayed due to work reasons, which has become a big heart disease for me.
Deng Xiaolan came to Malan Village to teach children music every year after retirement
2002, after retirement, I came to Malan Village again. This place is still a dilapidated village, backward education, and simple food. This is where the first "Selected Works of Mao Zedong" was born in our country! This was once the location of the predecessor of " People's Daily " "Jin Cha Ji Daily" and the predecessor of "Anti-Enemy Daily" of the Beijing Military Region "Comrades" "Anti-Enemy Daily"! There were 7 martyrs in the newspaper once buried here, and the people here once sacrificed 19 living lives to protect the newspaper! …
The father used the pseudonym of "Manan Estate" in "Yanshan Night Talk", indicating that his heart and feelings remained here forever. My mother once gave me a stamp engraved with "Malan's descendants". I often think about it and think about it: Fuping Malan Village is a highlight that cannot be forgotten in the history of Chinese news. It can be completely red tourism. But compared with other places, our place is not good, and I am very anxious! My annual pension is more than 30,000 yuan, and I spend 10,000 yuan enough. I will use the 20,000 yuan to do something for my fellow villagers.
Malan villager Bai Yucong’s father is his father’s old friend. At first, I went to Malan several times and lived in this sister’s house. In 2004, the school building in the village’s primary school broke down. I mobilized my younger brothers and sisters, who are also working-class people, collected more than 40,000 yuan in project funds, and built 7 school buildings in the village. From school buildings to toilets, I designed them all. Among them, the design of the water-flushed bathroom made everyone feel strange, "The toilet is in the house, isn't that smelly?" I told the villagers about the benefits of water-flushing toilets. In order to promote flushing the toilet, I distributed flyers to the villagers and encouraged Bai Yu to set an example from her sister's house to improve the toilet. After several years of hard work, the concept of flushing toilets has become a trend in the mountain village.
Deng Xiaolan, who has loved music since childhood,
I like music since childhood, grew up with singing, and my parents love to sing. But there is no singing in Malan village. One day, I found a few children in the village to rap and 7 songs, but they didn't know anything. At first I didn't believe it, thinking that the children might be embarrassed to sing it. Later, I asked them to sing the national anthem, and only two children could hum along. The tune was not right, and my heart suddenly became cold. Life without music was too pale, and I felt particularly sad at that time.
Since then, I have planned to think about bringing music into this remote and quiet mountain village. I traveled back and forth between Beijing and Malan again and again, and brought the instruments and musical scores such as accordion , violin , electronic piano and guitar donated by my family and friends to Malan Village. Gradually, with the support of relatives and friends and relevant departments, there were also musical instruments such as drums , piano, flute, black tube . I teach children to sing, teach them to play musical instruments step by step, and inspire children to play moving melodies with spoons, bells and saw blades that are common in life to cultivate their interest and feelings in music.
Give the violin used by my granddaughter to the children of the mountain village
Beijing to Malan, the journey is more than 400 kilometers. Although it is not far away, it was not convenient in the past few years. First, take the train from Beijing to Dingzhou , then take the shuttle bus from Dingzhou to Fuping County , and finally wait for the shuttle bus from Fuping to Malan. In addition, I waited for the bus, and sometimes I went out at 8 o'clock in the morning and did not arrive in Malan until 7 or 8 o'clock in the evening. It’s this stormy road. I basically come twice a month and come more frequently during winter and summer vacations. Teaching music must be continuous. Students cannot learn it. Sometimes, when I often think of the ideals and difficulties of my parents, I don’t feel the hard work or fatigue.
75-year-old Deng Xiaolan enlightened the child who first came into contact with musical instruments in Malan Village
2006, I founded the Malan Small Band.
October , 2008, the small band walked out of the mountains for the first time and held the "Malan Small Band Small Concert" in Zhongshan Park, Beijing. Subsequently, at the opening ceremony of the 4th China Excellent Specialty Art Festival and the concert of "Red Songs Singing Loudly in China", the small band of Malan was also recorded in the program recording of Hebei TV and Beijing TV.
In 2013, the quiet valley of Malan became lively. At the age of 70, I felt resolute and started the "Malan Children's Music Festival". With the help of the Fuping County Party Committee and County Government, the music festival was successfully held. The Malan Band performed on the same stage with more than 20 performance groups including the Tsinghua Art Troupe Band, and more than 3,000 viewers in the audience applauded. The music festival has been held for four sessions so far.
In 2015, on the hillside next to the school, I personally designed and raised funds to create a romantic three-story "Music Castle". The fence is inlaid with iron stitches, and the sun shines on it, and the notes are sprinkled all over the floor.
Deng Xiaolan is on the "Moon Stage"
In the past two years, I have been thinking about creating a "Moon Stage". The "Moon Stage" is located in the "Music Valley". From a high point, it looks like a small moon in the valley. The "half moon" above the "Moon Stage" is wavy, and the lower half extends into the stream, and there are reflections in the water. Such a stage is beautiful and romantic. It is estimated that all construction will be completed by the end of the year and will be put into use. This is the exclusive stage of our "Malan Children's Music Festival".
The children in Malan Village have involved more and more energy, but I am still happy to accept the invitation from the comrades of the Comrades. I look forward to attending the launch ceremony of your new book!

Postscript: Before interviewing Sister Deng Xiaolan, the editorial board of the online self-media "Comrades New News" had always wanted to plan and organize a "Going into Fuping Malan" field trip. I contacted and communicated with Sister Deng Xiaolan, who was far away in Malan. From time to time, children sang and rehearsal sounds came from the other side of the phone. Sister Deng Xiaolan always apologized repeatedly and said that she would talk about it after all this time. When the group of old-town children around Deng Xiaolan were amazed at the opening and closing ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics Beijing Winter Olympics , singing the Greek Olympic song "Ode to the Olympics" with the sound of nature, the whole world was amazed and praised eyes suddenly gathered on Deng Xiaolan. After the Winter Olympics, Sister Deng Xiaolan took faster steps until she fell tired and never woke up again. At 23:48 on March 21, 2022, Sister Deng Xiaolan died suddenly at the Beijing Temple of Heaven Hospital at the age of 79.
