At that time, the Kuomintang reactionaries led by Chiang Kai-shek carried out "encirclement and suppression" in our Central Soviet Area for five consecutive times. Facing several times the siege of the enemy, the leaders of our party adopted movement tactics and smashed the enemy's four "encirclement and suppression" one after another.
However, during the fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression", the highest military command fell on the consultant Li De. In October 1939, Xie Guoyi, then deputy regiment commander, led the troops to fight bravely, covering his nose with a towel, rushing through the enemy's poisonous gas and smoke, almost annihilated all the Japanese army. In this battle, Xie Guoyi severely damaged the Japanese water source Yoshio, annihilated more than 2,000 Japanese and puppet troops, and seized a large number of supplies. Later, experts in the history of the Anti-Japanese War called this battle the "Chenzhuang Victory."
During the War of Liberation, Xie Guoyi was mainly active in the Hebei-central region, and participated in the Pingjin Battle . Under the leadership of our party, he witnessed the birth of a great new China.
1955, Xie Guoyi was awarded the title of colonel and then served as deputy commander of the Shanxi Military Region. In 1964, Xie Guoyi was promoted to major general and was called the founding general.
Not only that, Xie Guoyi also has a very outstanding daughter named Xie Bin. She graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology . She was once the deputy director of the Political Department of the General Logistics Department of the People's Liberation Army. She was promoted to major general in 1999. Both father and daughter are major generals, which is rare in the history of our party.
Xie Bin's husband is Li Ligong, a native of Shanxi. He was once the Secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and the First Political Commissar of the Shanxi Military Region. Xie Bin and Li Ligong have a daughter named Li Xiaoying. When Li Xiaoying grew up, he married Hua Guofeng's son Su Bin. In other words, Xie Guoyi's daughter Xie Bin is Hua Guofeng's in-laws.
