A grand wedding ceremony was held at the Military Hall in Kudan, Tokyo, Japan.
The guests who attended were all Japanese nobles and descendants of the royal family. They applauded the wedding and praised it as a representative of "Japan and Manchuria are friendly and one body cannot be separated".
The protagonist who got married is Puyi 's younger brother Pujie . He looked solemnly and looked at his Japanese wife Saga Hao . The wife is smiling, gentle and pleasant, entertaining the guests.
Why did Qing Dynasty royal family members marry Japanese wives? What's the plan behind this marriage?
Noble birth, turbulent times
In April 1907, Pujie was born in Prince Chun's Mansion. He and the "last emperor" Puyi were brothers and had a very close relationship.
Puyi was carried into the palace when he was only 3 years old, ascended the dragon throne, and became the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty. As Puyi's younger brother, Pujie became the heir to Prince Chun's palace through his brother's relationship.
If the Qing Dynasty had not been overthrown, Pujie would have become the prince above one person and below ten thousand people.
But time did not wait for us. Not only was his brother Puyi forced to abdicate, he was also driven out of the Forbidden City by Feng Yuxiang. The two brothers fell from the sky to the ground at once, thinking about "restoring the Qing Dynasty".
Puyi fled from Beijing to Northeast China with his younger brother, and established the "Puppet Manchukuo" with the support of the Japanese. In fact, he has no power and is just a puppet emperor who is manipulated by the Japanese at will.
Puyi envied Japan's strong military strength, and he also wanted his own army. As his brother's right-hand man, Pujie stepped forward without hesitation and proposed to go to Japan to study military affairs and come back to assist his brother.
Pujie's trip to Japan to study this time became an opportunity to marry a Japanese wife.
is in the game and becomes a pawn
The Japanese are not willing to let Puyi sit on the throne. They hope that an emperor with "Japanese ancestry" will inherit the throne and realize their conspiracy to rule China.
Puyi was weak and had no children, so they targeted Puyi's younger brother Pu Jie. Pujie had the experience of studying in Japan and had a closer relationship with the Japanese.
The Japanese royal family has always wanted to completely control "Manchukuo", and their entry point was Pu Jie's marriage.
planned for Pujie to marry a Japanese aristocratic woman and give birth to a boy after marriage. would then legitimately inherit the throne of the "Puppet Manchuria" emperor and replace his uncle Puyi.
After Puyi learned about this, he immediately expressed his attitude : "This Japanese woman cannot be married."
Puyi has clearly seen the cunningness of the Japanese. If Pujie really gave birth to a boy with a Japanese woman, then he and Pujie are both in danger.
Puyi and her sister quickly found a Manchu wife for Pujie, thinking that by getting him married quickly, they could avoid the Japanese arrangements. did not expect that even Pujie said that his brother Puyi had already arranged it for him.
The Japanese military threatened him to set an example of "Japan-Manchuria amity." The Japanese army has chosen a wife of Japanese aristocratic descent for him. This Japanese woman must be married even if he does not want to marry.
Pujie was unable to fight, and there was still the last " life-saving straw " to save him.
Although he and his wife Tang Yiying are not in harmony and live in two places, the relationship between husband and wife is in name only. However, the two did not go through the divorce procedures. Tang Yiying made a big offer for a high compensation, and said they would not divorce unless they paid the money.
Pu Jie had a sad face, but was secretly happy in his heart. He could use his ex-wife as an excuse to delay.
Unexpectedly, the Japanese were extremely arrogant. Kwantung Army Secretary Yoshioka An directly led a large number of Japanese soldiers to besiege Tang Yiying's residence in Peiping .
wanted to force her to submit, but she failed. The Japanese army searched everywhere and caught Tang Yiying's younger brother, threatening Tang Yiying to come back and handle the divorce procedures.
Tang Yiying, who had fled to Shanghai, could only rush back in despair and sign the divorce agreement . Pujie had no choice but to do anything.
Japan began to prepare for the wedding of Pujie and Sagahiro. Sagahiro is a young lady from the noble Saga family of Japan, and is still a relative of the emperor.
Because Sagahiro's grandmother Nankako strongly opposed it, it was too far away for her granddaughter to marry in Northeast China, but the order of the military could not be disobeyed. In order to calm Nangazi's anger, Yoshioka An arranged for the two people to meet.
Saga Hiroshi is dressed in traditional Japanese clothes. He is gentle and charming, and his appearance is better than many Japanese stars. Pu Jie abandoned the Japanese conspiracy. When Yoshioka Yasu asked him about his impression of Saga Hiro, he actually said: "Very good."
But his brother Puyi was very angry and kept instilling the Japanese's sinister intentions into his younger brother. Put Pujie in a dilemma.
But Puyi's objection was of no use. Pujie and Sagahao soon held their wedding in Tokyo, Japan.
Japanese wedding, involuntarily
This grand wedding was completely controlled by the Japanese Kwantung Army.
The format of the wedding is Japanese-style wedding in front of the gods . Sagahiro is wearing Japanese-style clothing, and Pujie is wearing a "Manchukuo" dress designed by Japan.
Those attending the wedding were the Japanese royal family, nobles and ministers . The royal family's Prince Takeda and his wife, the prime minister, the president of the House of Nobles, the speaker of the House of Representatives and other important figures gathered from all directions.
The representatives of "Manchukuo" were ministers Xiqia and Runlin, as well as the "ambassador to Japan" Chiang Kai-shek , Only pro-Japanese elements could attend. Pujie's brother Puyi did not receive the invitation.
Compared with the general low-key and niche Japanese weddings, the wedding of Pujie and Sagahao has become a performance controlled by Japan. Japanese street people held high the sun flag and Manchukuo's " five-color flag " and marched in congratulations happily.
The newlyweds had no choice, they were just pawns to be manipulated.
After the wedding, Saga Hiroshi was called into the palace by the Japanese Empress Dowager and was told to "dedicate everything to the royal family", otherwise he would be a sinner of both countries.
Let her serve Puyi wholeheartedly, take her husband Pujie seriously, and get pregnant and give birth to a child as soon as possible . Her intentions have been self-evident for a long time.
Fortunately, Pujie and Sagahao have a good relationship, and Pujie feels meticulous care and consideration from his newlywed wife.
He began to forget the fears he had been in, and helped persuade his brother Puyi. knew that his brother was very dissatisfied with their marriage and wanted him to marry a Chinese woman.
Pujie hopes that his brother will not be prejudiced, forgive the couple, and the family can live in peace and harmony.
He also encouraged his wife to write a letter to his brother. According to her husband's ideas, Sagahao wrote respectfully: "It will be a great blessing for Hao to pay homage to the sky and respect the holy precepts as soon as possible."
But how could Puyi feel relieved?
This is an issue related to his "throne succession", and his life may be endangered if he is not careful. Once Pujie and his wife really give birth to a boy, the only outcome for him will be to step down again.
Pujie got a daughter, the couple separated and reunited
Fortunately, Puyi's "wishes came true", Pujie and Sagahao got two daughters in a row.
But Puyi was not happy for long. The tide of the times was already rolling in. In August 1945, the emperor abdicated. Without Japan's support, Puyi's "Manchukuo throne" was just a joke, and he immediately announced his abdication.
Pu Yi and his younger brother Pu Jie embarked on a journey to escape, but were unexpectedly detained by the Soviet army and sent to the Soviet Union to be imprisoned.
Without a husband to rely on, the former Japanese noblewoman Hiroshi Saga wandered around Tonghua with her daughter until they boarded a repatriation ship back to Japan two years later.
The couple separated for 16 years and did not get in touch until 1955. Saga Hiroshi has been actively looking for a husband, saying, "I will wait for you forever."
Pujie was moved to tears. He never thought that his wife would be so affectionate. The marriage of the two people was forcefully arranged by the Japanese military, but they accidentally gained true love, and suffering could not separate them.
In 1966, Pu Jie arrived in Beijing after being pardoned. He missed his wife and daughter very much and wanted to take them back.
But his elder brother Puyi was the first to stand up and object, persuading his younger brother to cut off contact with Sagahao.
Sagahiro is a descendant of Japanese imperialism and is ideologically backward. Since the two have been separated for so many years, it is difficult to guarantee that she has other sinister intentions in coming to China, and a clear line should be drawn.
Puyi's thoughts have been transformed into positive and advanced thoughts in the 1970s.
However, Pujie still wanted to reunite his family, so he reported the situation to the superior. Premier Zhou finally made the decision and allowed Sagahao to come to Beijing to reunite with his family.
Saga Hiroshi gave up his glorious family background in Japan and accompanied his husband without hesitation. He never left China until the couple passed away. After repeated research and verification by scholars, confirmed that Sagahiro had never engaged in espionage and intelligence work.
Who would have thought that their marriage, which was originally full of intrigues and calculations, would end up so happy and happy?
The ill-fated girl
In February 1938, Pu Jie and Saga Hao's first daughter was born, named Aixinjueluo Huisheng. Kwantung Army Secretary Ji Angan heard that it was a girl, threw down the gift and left without even looking at it.
Brothers Pujie and Puyi were very happy. Uncle Puyi was even more overjoyed and sent people to deliver tonic soup every day.
Even when he invited his younger brother's family to be guests, he would pull Huisheng to his side and forcefully put food in her bowl. Other children are not even qualified to eat on the table and must wait for adults to finish eating before they can eat.
The appearance of Huisheng eased the conflict between the brothers. Many people said that "Huisheng" was as "good at giving birth" as the name said, making the Aixinjueluo family full of laughter.
After Huisheng was 7 years old, his parents left him with the Saga family in Japan. He went to a Japanese elementary school and received strict instruction.
Huisheng's ending is regrettable. When she was in college, she fell in love with Okubo, a classmate from an aristocratic school. It was originally a youthful love , and they were both interested in each other.
She sent a letter to ask her father's opinion. Pujie felt that he had not been with his daughter for a long time and did not understand the situation, so he asked her to ask her mother's opinion.
Unexpectedly, her mother Sagahao strongly opposed it. believed that she was the daughter of the Aixinjueluo family and should marry a Chinese.
Her mother's attitude hurt Huisheng's heart. She felt sorry for her boyfriend who loved her wholeheartedly, and felt ashamed of her mother who took good care of her.
So the couple ended their lives under a mangrove tree in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
In 1945, Sagahao fled in the Northeast with his second daughter, Lisheng. The husband has been captured by the Soviet Union, and they can only find a way to return to Japan.
Those two years were the most memorable days for 's son . He traveled around Manchuria and experienced disasters. Fortunately, Hansheng finally returned to her grandmother's house in Japan with her mother. She no longer wanted to live her previous life and got used to living in Japan.
She chose to marry the Japanese Kenji Fukunaga instead of following her mother back to China to reunite with her father. After what happened to his eldest daughter Huisheng, Sagahao no longer raised any objections. Children and grandchildren will have their own blessings.
On February 28, 1994, Pu Jie passed away. His daughter, who had been living in Japan for a long time, donated the residence of her father Pu Jie to the country.
Pujie's life has been full of ups and downs. The happiest thing is that he can grow old together with his wife, contented and happy.
