Treasure Island Taiwan is like a child with many disasters. From a distance, it was first colonized by Portugal for 38 years, and then enslaved by Japan for nearly 50 years. From a recent perspective, because of Chiang Kai-shek's willful behavior, he refused to cooperate with the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and brought the Kuomintang to the Taiwan Island, and brought Taiwan to the embarrassing situation today.
Thinking of one day counterattacking the mainland, Chiang Kai-shek, who made a comeback, never set foot on his homeland in his lifetime, and the fallen leaves could not return to his roots. The Chiang Dynasty also slowly ended with the death of his son Chiang Ching-kuo . The Kuomintang's rule in Taiwan is also Wang Xiaoer's New Year, and it is worse than that of one year.
After the Kuomintang's defeat in the 2020 Taiwan election, Ma Ying-jeou did not say a word when he visited Chiang Ching-kuo's tomb. As Chiang Ching-kuo's former secretary, what is Ma Ying-jeou thinking at the moment? After the defeat of
, the Taiwan leaders' election in 2020 was mainly a competition between Tsai Ing-wen of the DPP and the Kuomintang's Han Kuo-yu . Both sides tried their best to use all available forces to build momentum for their victory.
Taiwanese people also cherish their voting rights very much, hoping that because of their own vote, leaders who truly do practical things for the people can stand out, so that all aspects of Taiwan can usher in a new atmosphere.
htmlOn January 11, the 2020 "general election" in Taiwan was finally announced with the anticipation of people from all sides. The Democratic Progressive Party Tsai Ing-wen defeated the Kuomintang Han Kuo-yu with a high vote of more than 8.17 million votes, and was successfully re-election with . Lai Ching-te was partnered with Tsai Ing-wen, so the media also called it "Tsai Lai Pair".Tsai Ing-wen's re-election was also the second time that the Kuomintang suffered a crushing defeat in the general election. In 2016, the Kuomintang candidates Zhu Lilun and Wang Ruxuan were defeated by Tsai Ing-wen and his partner Chen Jianren.
After everything is settled, how many people are really happy or sad.
The DPP Tsai Ing-wen was re-elected as she wished, celebrating her heart happily, as if she was excited by the blood of chickens. Also, all the policies implemented can continue to be implemented effectively, whether it is good or bad.
KMT has lost twice in a row, and its influence in Taiwan is declining and in danger.
In fact, two days before the results were announced, the top leaders of the Kuomintang had already felt that the chance of losing this general election was very high. Kuomintang Chairman Wu Dunyi was worried that he could not explain the dilemma of not allowing the Kuomintang to return to power. He had already gone to Chiang Ching-kuo Mausoleum on January 9 to visit the tomb after the defeat.
11 at 9 pm, Wu Dunyi announced that he would resign from the chairman of the Kuomintang. At the same time, the two vice chairmen, Zeng Yongquan, and Hao Longbin, also resigned together with the first-level supervisors in the party.
As the mayor of Kaohsiung City, Han Kuo-yu returned to work at the Kaohsiung City Government on January 13 and was preparing to hold a press conference at 10 o'clock.
Because there were many Han Kuo-yu supporters outside, the press conference was in chaos at the beginning, Han Kuo-yu could only ask everyone to calm down first. Then Han Kuo-yu apologized to the citizens and said that he would do his best to fight for the municipal administration and strive to respond to the expectations of Kaohsiung citizens.
As for whether they will run for the election for the chairman of the party, Han Kuo-yu said that there is no such plan and hopes that everyone will return to rationality after the election, and do not bring in the election sentiment. The people of Taiwan must unite together.
Ma Ying-jeou, who was once Chiang Ching-kuo's secretary, went to the Chiang Ching-kuo's Mausoleum on January 13 to present flowers and bow to the tomb.
At around 8 a.m., the quiet and peaceful Daxi welcomed Ma Ying-jeou and his party, including Gao Huazhu, the former Secretary-General of the National Security Council, Ge Guangyue, and former Deputy Secretary-General of the Taiwan Leaders' Office. In a solemn and solemn atmosphere, everyone stood in front of the photo of Chiang Ching-kuo's coffin for 3 minutes before walking out of the mausoleum sadly.
Ma Ying-jeou originally had something to say, but in the end he didn't say a word. He just shook hands with his old subordinates such as Gao Huazhu and Xiao Xucen and left, with a thoughtful expression.
Ma Ying-jeou is thinking about the grand occasion when he was elected on behalf of the Kuomintang in 2008, when he defeated the DPP Tsai Changting with 7.659,014 votes; maybe he is thinking, if the Kuomintang is still dominant now and there is no DPP, what will happen?
Party rotation traces the origin of the Democratic Progressive Party
implements an American-style party political system in Taiwan, China. This is the political ideal of liberal intellectuals such as Hu Shi , Lei Zhen . In the 1950s, they introduced party political theory to the people of Taiwan in the magazine "Free China" they founded, hoping to establish a new party to check and balance the Kuomintang in elections and ultimately achieve a peaceful party rotation in Taiwan.
For a full 50 years from 1895 to 1945, Taiwan has been under Japan's occupation, so in the past 50 years, about 200,000 Taiwanese teenagers have gone to Japan to study and receive Japanese-style higher education.
After returning to Taiwan after returning to Japan, these Japanese students had absolute advantages in economic, cultural and social relations, forming a social class with a strong capital.
These students studying in Japan were deeply influenced by Japan, so students studying in Japan and liberal intellectuals from the mainland had a common pursuit and cooperation space in organizing new parties and realizing the ideal of party politics.
But things were not achieved overnight. After Chiang Kai-shek retreated to Taiwan, he had always been the bad dictatorship of the Kuomintang. Non-party forces had no way to participate in politics during Chiang Kai-shek's 26 years of autocratic rule. For democracy and freedom, Taiwan had several movements to organize new political parties.
The first time it was the party group of "Free China", but it did not cause any big storm.
When Chiang Kai-shek passed away, the non-party forces that had been silent for many years began to try again on the political stage of Taiwan.
In order to show that he is more enlightened and democratic than his father, Chiang Ching-kuo announced the lifting of the ban on magazines in March of the second year when he became the supreme leader of Taiwan. So magazines such as "The 1980s" and "Beautiful Island" sponsored by non-party members made a brilliant debut.
The second time a new party movement was organized is ready to move again. In the 1970s, Taiwanese non-party members formed the "Taiwan non-party members' election team" for elections, centered on "Taiwan Political Commentary" and "Beautiful Island" magazines, which were formed for elections, was a political party without a party name.
No one expected that this would cause the "Beautiful Island Incident" that shocked the island and outside the island.
Chiang Ching-kuo ascended the throne of "President". His reputation was at its peak. "Beautiful Island" made fierce remarks. He used the magazine to criticize the various shortcomings of the Kuomintang, and echoed the 1980s, posing a great threat to the Kuomintang and Chiang Ching-kuo's rule.
Huang Xinjie, the founders of "Beautiful Island" and "The 1980s", jointly raised an inquiry, advocating that the Kuomintang should accept different parties with an open mind to establish a democratic system.
However, the Kuomintang’s reply was: Now is an extraordinary period of war, and any political party that is different from Three Principles of the People is not allowed by the current ‘national policy’.
However, "Beautiful Island" magazine is very good at creating momentum, and often makes it very popular. The magazine has a circulation of more than 100,000 copies. It often holds tea parties, symposiums, torch parades and other activities. The number of participants ranges from hundreds to tens of thousands, and has won the sympathy and recognition of many intellectuals.
"Beautiful Island" magazine actually formed a political organization, so the Kuomintang authorities hated the "Beautiful Island" magazine to the core and wanted to get rid of it quickly.
On December 10, 1979, "Beautiful Island" magazine called on the masses to participate in the human rights anniversary event in Kaohsiung City. After the rally, a march was held. gendarmerie and the military police were ordered to stop it. The marchers attacked the military police with torches. The two sides clashed. Then the gendarmerie began to suppress and fired tear gas. The masses were gradually dispersed until at 2:30 am the next day, both sides evacuated.

On December 13, the "Police General" of the Taiwan authorities seized the "Beautiful Island" magazine. The middle and senior officials Huang Xinjie, Shi Mingde, Yao Jiawen, Zhang Junhong, Lin Yixiong , Lin Hongxuan, Lu Xiulian, and Chen Ju were all taken into custody of more than 10 years. The "Beautiful Island Incident" came to an end.
KMT authorities' policies on arrests and suppression of non-party persons have caused strong responses on and off the island, but the movement to form a non-party party was also forced to end.
Until the late 1990s, the Meili Island incident was finally fully rehabilitated. What is interesting is that the people related to the Meili Island incident have considerable development in the political field. Many people rank important positions in the "Parliament" and local areas. In addition to Lin Hongxuan, the eight people sentenced at the beginning served as chairman or acting chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party.
The full name of the Democratic Progressive Party was established on September 28, 1986. It mainly involves students studying in Japan from the 1960s to the 1980s directly participating in organizing new parties' activities.
The reason why the DPP stands out besides the KMT is inseparable from Lee Teng-hui's support for the establishment of the DPP and help the DPP to govern within the system ruled by the KMT.
Lee Teng-hui and others wanted to achieve the "Taiwan independence" conspiracy through party rotation, which was contrary to the original intentions of Hu Shi, Lei Zhen and others at that time.
Today's Democratic Progressive Party, under the leadership of Tsai Ing-wen, seems to have to turn the road of pro-US, pro-Japanese and Taiwan independence into a dark road. Not to mention that the 1.4 billion Chinese people do not agree, even the Kuomintang represented by Ma Ying-jeou and others will not agree.
Ma Ying-jeou's comprehensive complex
In early 1949, the Kuomintang was defeated in the mainland, and Ma Heling took his wife to Taiwan. At this time, Ma Ying-jeou followed his parents away from the mainland of the motherland with his parents in his mother's belly.
On July 13, 1950, Ma Ying-jeou was born in Guanghua Hospital in Hong Kong. He grew up after moving to Taiwan in 1951. Therefore, Ma Ying-jeou, who was born in a scholarly family, was once teased by the media for "make in mainland China, deliver in Hong Kong, and processing in Taiwan."
The couplet hanging on the wall of Ma Ying-jeou's office, "Gold is not a treasure, everything is empty and good, not empty." This is the ancestral teaching established by Ma Ying-jeou's grandfather Ma Li'an.
Ma Ying-jeou's father Ma Heling was taught by his father since childhood. He is also a typical believer of Chinese traditional Confucian . He is a person with a strong will and very patriotic and family loves.
After entering politics, he served as the guard of Chiang Kai-shek in his early years and later served as the deputy chairman of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Kuomintang. He lived a simple life and did not forget to instill the loyalty and filial piety and national justice that his children should have.
After Ma Ying-jeou became an adult, the old man always hoped and supported his political career. He once told Ma Ying-jeou: "If China lacks engineers, it is the same if it is possible to hire experts from foreign countries. However, if the mayor of Taipei is not doing well and the "president" is not doing well, you can't find foreigners to do it!"
Ma Heling returned to the mainland many times after 1995, and once donated 10,000 US dollars to his hometown alma mater, Yueyun Middle School, and set up a scholarship. This deep friendship with his relatives in the mainland undoubtedly infected Ma Ying-jeou.
Ma Heling passed away in 2005. The urn was engraved with two lines of poetry written by Ma Heling: "To transform the independence and gradually revitalize China in all respects, help the weak, and move towards great harmony together."
Ma Ying-jeou, under the influence of family affairs and the influence of his father, advocated the realm of "no acre of land, worrying about the world, breaking ten thousand books, and making friends with the ancients". He emphasized that we should fight for the future and not fight for the moment. The real victory lies in whether we can reach the end.
When he was a college student, Ma Ying-jeou was an active participant in the "Diaoyu Islands Protection" on the island. He used a large number of international judicial precedents and international treaties to prove that Diaoyu Islands is the legal basis for Chinese territory, and his writing style is sophisticated that it attracted the close attention of the top leaders of the Kuomintang and Chiang Ching-kuo.
In September 1981, under the recommendation of Chiang Ching-kuo's secretary Feng Huxiang and "penmaster" Zhou Ying-jeou, Ma Ying-jeou, served as "Deputy Director of the First Bureau of the Presidential Office", and four months later, he was appointed Chiang Ching-kuo's English secretary.
Ma Ying-jeou has been with Chiang Ching-kuo for 7 years and has been obeying his duties without going beyond the line. His knowledge, eloquence, humility, prudence, and non-grouping and private style have been highly praised by Chiang Ching-kuo.
In early 1987, Chiang Ching-kuo solicited Ma Ying-jeou's views on opening up to visit relatives. Finally, the "Regulations on Relations between the Taiwan Region and the Mainland" was issued. Through the contact of the Red Cross, the two sides of the Taiwan Strait allowed veterans to return to the mainland to visit relatives. Now decades have passed. 5,000 people traveled to the mainland a year, and now there are 5.7 million people a year.
1992 cross-strait representatives ( Association of Straits and Straits Association and Straits Foundation) held their first meeting in Hong Kong. Ma Ying-jeou is not only a witness to the "1 Consensus ", but also a major participant and decision-maker.
Ma Ying-jeou proposed to distinguish "the Communist Party of China" from "China", expressing "Chinese sentiment" and "the ideal of seeking a common democratic society between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait."
In April 1997, Ma Ying-jeou was kidnapped and tore up votes for his daughter Bai Xiaoyan, who was kidnapped and tore offended Lee Teng-hui, and resigned from all public offices and returned to the Department of Law of Taiwan University of Political Science and Technology as an associate professor.
In 1998, Lee Teng-hui and Song Chuyu turned against each other, and the Kuomintang fell into de facto division, and the nomination of Taipei mayoral candidate became a problem. The Kuomintang could no longer watch the mayor of Taipei fall into the hands of Chen Shui-bian of the Democratic Progressive Party, so he mobilized Ma Ying-jeou, who was unintentional in politics to run for election.
Father Ma Heling told Ma Ying-jeou: "Now is a special period for the Kuomintang. If this battle is lost, then the Kuomintang's power in Taiwan will become weaker and weaker in the future, and the Democratic Progressive Party, which engages in 'Taiwan independence', will become stronger and stronger. For Taiwan, you have the responsibility to shoulder this burden."
Ma Ying-jeou still did not nod at this time, so Ma Heling mobilized tens of thousands of people in the Kuomintang to sign. The day before the registration, Ma Heling and a large number of Kuomintang "big bosses" blocked the door of the Taipei Jinghua Hotel where Ma Ying-jeou was having a meeting.
Ma Ying-jeou walked out and saw his father Ma Heling kneeling in unison with a group of old party workers. He was crying and persuading him in tears: "Ying-jeou, I beg you here. If you don't agree, just kneel until you agree."
Ma Ying-jeou burst into tears, took the paper and pen from his father's hand and said: "Dad, I'm filial!"
Ma Heling said: "You are wrong. This is not my father coming to ask you, but the party and country need you. This is loyalty, and it is loyalty to serve the country!"
1998, the Taipei mayoral election was announced. Ma Ying-jeou led Chen Shui-bian with more than 760,000 votes and the election was successful.
In 2008, Ma Ying-jeou defeated the DPP with a high vote rate of 58%, won the general election, and served as the leader of Taiwan.
At that time, public opinion on the island generally believed that the re-ruling of the Kuomintang, which combines legislative power, administrative power and local ruling power, would make Chen Shui-bian focus on "Taiwan independence" and corruption for eight years in power, seriously neglecting the development of the economy and improving people's livelihood. The haze of the deteriorating economic situation ended, and Taiwan would enter a brand new "Ma Ying-jeou era".
However, in the face of political conflicts and confrontation between political parties and confrontation, while adhering to principles, Ma Ying-jeou's flexible and compromise side is also prominent, which seems a bit "desperate" and "insufficient responsibility".
While adhering to the principles of "legal unity of the Republic of China" and "1992 Consensus", he adopted a compromise method such as emphasizing "Taiwanese sense of subjectivity" and indicating "ununification" to win recognition, rather than standing tough on the opposite side of the green camp to fight back.
Ma Ying-jeou's emotions are a combination of Chinese complex, free complex and Taiwanese complex, which makes his style of conduct and governing line appear as a "fence-mounted" mode.
From the "final-level unification theory" he proposed when he was the Party Chairman, to the "Taiwan independence option theory", to the "maintaining the status quo", and finally proposed the "three no" policy of "not unification, not independent, not martial", which shows his inner sway in this series of remarks.
: When Ma Ying-jeou, who is gentle, does not speak badly and is in a clean and honest manner, is over 70 years old, facing the current dilemma of the Kuomintang and the current situation in Taiwan, it is unknown whether he will bear it silently or be ready to go.
Since ancient times, Taiwan has been an inalienable part of China's territory, but because it is not wide from the mainland of the motherland, it has always been used by all forces. Only when the two sides of the Taiwan Strait can they be peacefully reunited, and Taiwan can truly stay in the arms of the motherland to recuperate and achieve better development.
