At the beginning of the founding of New China, everything is in trouble, and the industrial foundation is particularly weak. In this regard, Mao Zedong once had an impressive description: "What can we build now? It can build tables and chairs, tea bowls and teapots, grow grain, grind into flour, and make paper. However, a car, an airplane, an tank, , and a tractor cannot be built.
This passage expresses the voice of all the people of New China, and realizing the industrialization of the country is the top priority. Since 1951, my country began to prepare the first five-year plan and decided to concentrate its main forces in the industrial field to build 156 projects designed by the Soviet Union and help China in China. The whole country quickly formed a warm atmosphere of participating in and supporting the construction of the country's industrialization.
It was an era of passion, for industrialization. Unlimited longing inspired labor enthusiasm that people have never had. "Every second is to work to create socialist society ." This call full of the spirit of the times vividly reflects the full enthusiasm brought by the industrialization goal.
The first car in our country was born in such a construction boom. On July 15, 1953, a factory code-named 652 was officially started on the ruins of the bacteria factory left by the Japanese invaders of China in the southwest suburbs of Changchun City. This is Changchun's First Automobile Manufacturing Factory. This project has received strong support from all over the country: relevant central departments mobilized thousands of cadres from more than 20 provinces and cities across the country to support the construction; the Ministry of Construction Engineering transferred the main force of the department to Changchun; Ministry of Railways Priority for transportation of materials required by the factory...; In the local area, many factories mobilized the best technical workers to participate in trial production and production, and took FAW's tasks as a "special project" and "emergency".
The Soviet Union also strongly supported FAW's construction, and provided all-round assistance in factory site selection, factory planning and construction, equipment and components supply, and automobile production technology. Nearly 200 Soviet experts came to FAW to work, playing an important role in FAW's construction and production. Soviet experts advocated the choice of the Soviet Gis 150 model as the prototype of Chinese domestic cars based on China's actual needs. Although the Gis 150 model is not outstanding in performance, acceleration and power, it is simple in structure, durable, low failure rate, simple in maintenance, suitable for China, which had just started the automobile industry, was also in line with the actual situation of China's roads at that time.
With the support of the people of the whole country and Soviet experts, FAW built the first automobile industry base in New China in just three years. On July 14, 1956, the first batch of 12 newly assembled Jiefang brand cars slowly drove out of the assembly line amid thunderous applause, which marked the three-year factory construction goal of 's first automobile manufacturer as scheduled.

Like Changchun FAW, this project is also a key construction project for the Soviet Union to aid China during China's "First Five-Year Plan". Mao Zedong also has expectations for it: "This state-owned grain farm will not only play an important demonstration role in promoting China's agricultural socialist transformation, but will also help China train technical talents in agricultural production and learn from the valuable experience of the Soviet Union's reclaimed wasteland."
In order to commemorate the great friendship between China and the Soviet Union, this farm was named "State-owned Friendship Farm".

Building a Friendship Farm is a grand battle of the young republic. The organization department has dispatched a group of leading cadres from Heilongjiang, Hebei, Henan, Shandong and other places to be assigned to leadership positions at all levels of the farm. Refining the land is difficult. The 12 drainage teams adopted "two shifts" day and night operations. Each shift team worked for more than 12 hours, and some tractors were so tired that they fell asleep on the steering wheel. At that time, the reporter of " People's Daily " recorded such a scene of land reclamation: "It was already dusk when it arrived at the 10th production team of Wufen Farm. The operation station was composed of green camping vans, tents, and thatched houses. The surrounding fields were out of bounds. A few days ago, the wilderness was burned here. The ashes of the weeds were covered with dark gray charcoal on the wasteland. The newly plowed virgin land was emitting a moist and attractive smell of earth..."
On June 18, 1955, Friendship Farm completed the scheduled land reclamation task. In the first year of construction, the farm opened 23,400 hectares of land, exceeding the target, and sowing more than 3,400 hectares of seeds that year, and harvesting more than 3.6 million kilograms of grain. The office space of the main yard, branch yard, production team, as well as agricultural machinery repair shops, grain processing plants, warehouses, power stations, staff dormitories, etc. have been built. With the enthusiasm of building the motherland, builders from all over the world built Beidahuang into Beidakuang .
After the first batch of Jiefang brand cars left the factory, they were assigned here as soon as possible to participate in the vigorous socialist construction of and become the earliest domestic machinery "members" of China's agricultural modernization.
Nowadays, Jiefang brand cars have developed to the seventh generation. For more than half a century, Changchun No. 1 Automobile Manufacturing Factory has produced a large number of cars for the country, accumulated valuable experience for the development of China's automobile industry, and cultivated a large number of talents. On December 14, 2021, the "FAW" Jiefang J7 vehicle smart factory was officially completed and put into production. On the same day, the first mass-produced J7 heavy truck produced by the factory was removed from the production line. According to technical personnel, the FAW Jiefang J7 vehicle intelligent assembly line will use internationally leading advanced manufacturing and testing technology to fully integrate automobile manufacturing with new technologies such as 5G, industrial Internet, big data, cloud computing, , etc., and has the advantages of increasing process, adjustable production capacity, variable layout, and controllable quality.
Under the armed forces of modern agricultural technology, the state-owned Friendship Farm has also developed rapidly. In 2010, it was awarded the National Advanced Model Farm of Grain Production by Ministry of Agriculture . The second operation station of the Fifth Management Zone was identified by the state as a precision agriculture demonstration base. Friendship Farm has become a banner of China's modern large-scale agriculture with its scale, precision and efficiency.
