Among the "Five Tigers of the Yangtze River", the most regrettable one is Anqing!
Why do you say that?
Because Anqing is one of the cities in China that accepted modern civilization earlier. Anqing was still the provincial capital of Anhui more than 100 years ago.
At that time, Anhui ’s first power plant, first water plant, first telephone, first airport, first modern library, and first university were all born in Anqing!
Anqing back then was so beautiful!
Otherwise, we would not be ranked among the "Five Tigers of the Yangtze River" together with Nanjing, Wuhan, Chongqing, and Shanghai!
However, it is a pity that today’s Anqing has lost its glory!
Not only is it no longer the provincial capital, but it has also been relegated to the ranks of third-tier cities.
Anqing’s popularity across the country has also dropped significantly!
