Ge Guangliang pointed out that the Shatuji Battle was the first victory of the East China Field Army during the War of Liberation when it transitioned from strategic defense to strategic offense. Facing the Kuomintang's reorganized 57th Division, our army overcame difficulties and dared to fight and won, reversing the passivity at that time. The situation was of great significance to Liu and Deng's army's leap into the Dabie Mountains and even to the development of the southern front of the Liberation War.
Subsequently, Ge Guangliang and his party carefully understood the construction and collection of the Shatuji Battle Memorial Hall, carefully examined precious photos and objects, and were infected by the spirit of loyalty to the party, love for the people, and hard work of our party's predecessors during the revolutionary war.
