Teach you how to make a rotation map of insulin injection sites to improve the efficacy of insulin and reduce adverse injection reactions

Insulin-treated patients have an average of 2-3 injections of insulin per day, with more than 700 injections per year. If the patient frequently injects insulin at the same site repeatedly, it will cause redness, swelling, induration, subcutaneous fat hyperplasia, and lipoatrophy at the injection site Adverse reactions such as pain and pain affect the treatment effect and increase the suffering of patients.

"2016 China Diabetes Drug Injection Technical Guidelines" pointed out that rotating insulin injection sites can increase the absorption rate of insulin and reduce the occurrence of local adverse reactions. However, in clinical practice, some patients only inject in the abdomen because it is convenient, or do not know about other parts and inject at will.

"2016 China Diabetes Drug Injection Technical Guide" defines the suitable parts for insulin injection, mainly 4 parts:

Abdomen, which is about 1 cm above the pubic symphysis, the lowest rib Approximately 1 cm below the margin and 2.5 cm from the umbilicus on both sides;

Bilateral upper 1/3 of the anterolateral thigh;

Both lateral buttocks outer upper side;

The middle 1/3 of the outer upper arm.

The guide also recommends that short-acting insulin during meals should be injected into the abdomen; if you want to slow down the absorption of insulin, you can choose injection into the buttocks; medium and long injections for children When insulin is effective, it is best to choose to inject the buttocks or thighs.

How to choose the right injection site to avoid repeated injections at the same site within one month? It feels so hard! Can't remember!

Let's make it together!

This is an injection site rotation chart made according to the "2016 Chinese Diabetes Drug Injection Technical Guide", which can solve the diabetic patients' troubles. It has a total of 6 injection site diagrams (Figure 1):

Figure 1 Insulin injection site rotation diagram

Right upper arm, left upper arm, abdomen, buttocks, Right lower limb, left lower limb. Each picture has the date of injection, and each injection site is divided into a number of grids (each grid is about 1 cm × 1 cm).

Patient in use: According to the injection point, it is divided into 4 time periods of "morning, noon, evening, and before going to bed". The order of injection is morning arm, noon abdomen, evening thigh, and bedtime Buttocks, after the injection on the left side, go to the right side.

Fill in the date, select the injection site and injection time, and perform injections in the small grid of the corresponding site according to the marked injection time.

Before each injection, observe the local conditions of the last injection site, and mark √ on the corresponding site after each injection.

Change the injection site after the small grid is full. Pay attention to the rotation of the same injection site. The distance between each injection point should be 2 cm. Try to avoid using the same injection point twice within a month.

Diabetes patients are mostly elderly, affected by education and disease awareness, low compliance and easy to forget. The insulin injection site rotation diagram can effectively avoid the same injection site injection, which is beneficial for patients to accurately and regularly Rotating the injection site to avoid repeated injections of insulin at the same or similar site due to forgetting can effectively reduce the occurrence of complications at the insulin injection site.

Come and make a rotation diagram of insulin injection site together. Of course, if you find it difficult to make, then recommend an abdominal injection belt, which is suitable for patients with fewer insulin injections. Come and try it (Figure 2).
