Missing my grandma

My grandma is a sheep, and December 22 is her birthday. If she were still alive, she would be 127 years old.
Two days ago, my second brother suggested that on the occasion of my grandma’s birthday, I should write something to commemorate her. I deeply agree.
Unconsciously, it has been 30 years since my grandma passed away. However, when I recall the various scenes when my grandma passed away, I am still as clear as yesterday. It was a severe winter with heavy snowfall, and the weather was extremely cold. In fact, grandma did not have any serious illness, she just had a small cold. At that time, my grandma was nearly a hundred years old, and her mobility was not as convenient as before. She saw that her son and daughter-in-law, who were already in their seventies and eighties, had to run around to take care of themselves. She felt that she had become a burden on the family, so she did not eat or drink, died without any illness, and passed away peacefully.
In my impression, grandma is a very rigorous, smart and capable person with management skills. Although the family's conditions were poor at the time, as the head of the family, grandma, together with grandpa, used hard-working hands to take care of daily affairs in an orderly manner, allowing the family to live a relatively stable life. Grandma often said: "If you don't have enough food and clothing, you won't have poverty if you don't plan well!"
Grandma loves us deeply from the bottom of her heart, but she is by no means doting, but loves under strict requirements. There are some agreed-upon rules in our family, which must be strictly followed. For example: the first bowl of rice must be given to the oldest person in the family to eat first; for children who go to school, in addition to studying, they must also participate in labor! If you go out to play for a while and don’t work, you won’t be able to eat. No one is exempt! It is these strict requirements that enable the younger generation to develop the good habit of hard work and hard work.
Grandma and grandfather are also very filial people. They take good care of my grandma in every possible way. Over time, no matter how difficult the family is, they always make sure that my grandma has at least one egg every morning. This is probably an important reason why my grandma is in good health and can live to be over 90 years old. Grandma's great-grandmother's status in the family is supreme and she always speaks the truth. Grandma and grandpa never talk back. Grandma and grandpa's words and deeds have deeply influenced the younger generations, forming a good family tradition of respecting the elderly and loving the young.
Grandma is the housekeeper and the buyer of the family. Grandma never went to school, but she was very good at mental arithmetic and oral arithmetic. She was always able to spend her limited money wisely and buy good things at low prices and high quality. Even during the period of food shortage, grandma was inseparable from seemingly simple tasks such as slicing sweet potatoes and grinding sweet potato noodles.
Grandma and grandfather attach great importance to the education of younger generations. In the summer of 1956, a teacher from Cao Liwan Elementary School (a primary school with grades one to six) came to our house and said to grandma, "What should you do if your grandson fails to pass the exam?" Grandma said, "Look, he is so young now that he can't do much work? If he fails to pass the exam, can he do anything? Let him repeat the exam for one year." The teacher said, "Now, the rule is that no one can repeat the exam." Just when grandma was worried that her grandson would not go to school, the teacher took out the admission notice and said: "Grandma: Congratulations, your grandson has been admitted to middle school!" Grandma was so happy that she couldn't open her mouth.
For many years later, whenever she talked about these things, grandma’s face was always filled with a happy smile. (By the way, just after liberation, there were few middle schools and low enrollment ratio, so it was very difficult to pass the exams)
Grandma was a good at home cooking, spinning cotton , weaving, and sewing clothes. When farming is busy, picking cotton, cutting wheat, picking seedlings, hoeing and pulling weeds, and doing farm work are all a matter of course.
I seem to see the wind from my hometown blowing gently on my cheeks. Grandma is either working in the fields or threading needlework in front of the window... Grandma's delicate and slender face is vaguely visible, Grandma! I really miss you. You will always live in our hearts.
