I remember one year, I was very interested in Buddhism practice, and I especially liked going to the mountains to look for masters. Later, I went more and more, and I thought I had mastered some secrets of Buddhist practice, so I started to feel self-righteous.
So I haven’t gone to the mountains to learn from experts for a long time. If you don’t learn this, you will become unfamiliar.
That year, I liked to show off some of the Buddhist knowledge I knew in front of others. I like to talk a lot.
Once, I attended a friend’s tea banquet chat in a quiet suburban clean room. I ran over to him for tea that day, only to find a young monk sitting there.
A friend introduced me to him and said: This master is from Yunyoufang. I just met him. I have made acquaintance and invited him to come in for tea.
When I saw the monk, he was very young, and I immediately felt that he must be a monk who had just entered Buddhism. He didn't even take him seriously.
So he sat down and started talking about Buddhism.

spoke for about thirty or forty minutes. The young mage remained silent and listened to me politely. My friend was really embarrassed and wanted to stop me. However, I wanted to show off, so I became more and more energetic as I spoke.
I saw that the monk ignored me, so I provoked him and asked: What does the Master think?
He said: Amitabha, donor, you have deep roots of wisdom and are very powerful. I want to learn from you.
I say; we can discuss the kind words the Master said!
He smiled and said: May I ask you a question?
I said: What’s the problem?
He said: When the flowers bloom and see the Buddha, he realizes that there is no life. What do you think of this sentence?
When I heard it, I was very excited and talked about this sentence for seven or eight minutes. It probably meant that when flowers bloom, you can see the Buddha, and when you see the Buddha, you can understand the inanimate Dharma, and so on.
He smiled and said: Flowers blooming, isn’t it enough? Are there so many more behind?
When I heard this, I was a little embarrassed and couldn't speak for a long time.
He said: As long as the flowers bloom, why do we have to see the Buddha, and where can we go to realize that there is no life?
When I heard this, it was like a basin of cold water poured down my head.
When he saw that I couldn't say anything for a long time, he started talking. he said. Why am I asking you this? Because generally people like you are Buddhists. You will have your own opinions on many things in Buddhism, but most of these opinions are redundant and are products of the mind and words, that is, some fantasy that you understand after reading the words.
Strictly speaking, these are not Buddhist teachings. They are just knowledge or hearsay.
To truly say that a person wants to practice cultivation, you first need to look at the person’s personality charm and whether his personality spirit has cultivated a way that can infect others and make others feel that staying next to him is at least quiet, comfortable, and willing to get along with him.
This is the first one, that is, if this person has been practicing for a long time and understands a lot of principles, but when others come into contact with him, he dislikes him, and when he comes into contact, he annoys him and runs away when he comes, then there will be a big problem in this practice.
Because you have truly started practicing cultivation and it is effective, it means that these principles have entered your heart and affected your character. If it doesn't affect you, it means you're still not on the road.

It’s not that you know a lot of Buddhist knowledge and can talk about a lot of things. Even if you can understand all the principles, it does not mean that you are a qualified Buddhist practitioner. The key is whether you embody the style of a Buddhist in your actions and actions in life.
If you have been doing it for a long time and you are still very restless and impetuous, you don’t pay much attention to what you say. It is possible that you need to reflect on your own spiritual path.
I was very ashamed when I heard this, so I stood up and saluted him. And he confessed that what the Master said was too good. I just talked a lot in front of the Master, and I was really too impetuous. I ask the Master to forgive me and give me some guidance.
He also stood up and returned the gift to me, comforted me and said it was okay, and then said.In fact, it is rare for us to meet each other, so I point it out politely, and you don’t have to worry about it. People who follow Buddhism have such an open mind and are not afraid of what others say. In this way, I can see the aura of a true Buddhist in you. This alone is enough to be admired.
Some people said a few words to him, and he immediately had an opinion and felt very unhappy.
I asked him: Master, what does it take to have real wisdom? Is it because of concentration that wisdom arises?
He said: It is right that concentration leads to wisdom. Buddhism talks about precepts, concentration and wisdom. The same goes for practicing in life. If you can have long-term concentration, wisdom will definitely arise within it.
What is the wisdom that comes from concentration? Because the concentration has been strong for a long time, the human heart has been concentrated for a long time. A kind of wisdom of emptiness will be born. This is the wisdom that we talk about as concentration leads to wisdom. It is not other wisdom, it is not about how you can make money or how to deal with others. It is the wisdom of emptiness.
This is the fundamental wisdom of Buddhism. It seems like a vast sea, maybe you just take a drink from it. Already find it very useful.
Why is the wisdom of emptiness so useful?
Because it can unravel the roots of things and figure out the truth of the world. Prevent your vision from being disrupted by changes in the external environment. In fact, it is that simple. When you have the wisdom of emptiness, you will no longer cling to it. But it can always be attributed to the emptiness of annihilation.
From a certain perspective, this wisdom is actually concentration itself. We call concentration force concentration and wisdom wisdom. These are separate terms in terms of physical and functional aspects. In fact, they are the same thing. Without concentration, there is no wisdom. It is precisely because you have the determination to face the world that you can show your wisdom.
For example, if someone scolds you or praises you, if you don’t have concentration, and you will feel happy, angry, sad, and happy as others scold you and praise you, then of course there is no wisdom. The so-called wisdom means that you have concentration and do not become emotional when they scold you or praise you. So wisdom is actually concentration, and concentration is wisdom. There is no other wisdom.

And when such wisdom appears in your life, everything else is nothing, because this is the best thing, this is a treasure, this is the gift of your life, the gift of life, when you have it, you must cherish it.
Just like I said just now that you are impetuous in your speech, it is precisely because you lack concentration that you speak like this and that you do not care about the situation and anything but just express yourself. This actually means you have no concentration and no wisdom.
Assume that when you have determination, you will be calm, you will be rational, you will not talk nonsense, and you will not be eager to express yourself. In the eyes of others, you are a wise person. You see, it's that simple. But to do it, it takes a long time of practice.
When true meditation is maintained for a long enough time, it is like a peach blossom tree in spring, and wisdom is like the flowers on the branches. It is when we face the information captured by the six sense organs of eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind in life, and our heart can remain unmoving, that we can have true meditation, and only then will the so-called flowers of wisdom bloom. Therefore, flowers are trees and trees are flowers.
I said: It means that concentration and wisdom are one thing, right?
He said: Yes. Wisdom is the use of concentration, and its application is wisdom. However, you may feel that because you have concentration, you will naturally have a kind of wisdom.
When facing various things, you can be pessimistic. If you can look away, you will have a lot less worries, and you can deal with it calmly. This is something you can experience as a client.
Assuming that if you have a little concentration, you can realize that the same wisdom will come out. Because you have to face things. If you don’t face things, you don’t know that you have wisdom. If you sit there and don’t move, how do you know that you have wisdom?
You only have to face others, such as answering other people's questions. When you talk to others and deal with things, you find that you are different from before.Things naturally come out of your heart instead of out of your head. Things in your heart come out naturally, and you become more rational, calm, organized, and logical than before. This is also a manifestation of wisdom.
On the other hand, when you are in contact with others, they like to be with you and feel good talking to you. Listening to you can gain inner insights, and many worries can be solved in your presence. This shows that your practice is still somewhat effective.
There are some great practitioners who don't talk much. If you stay in front of him for a while, you will already feel that the magnetic field is particularly quiet, and you will feel at ease being absorbed by him.

Buddhist practice is like a process of washing and purifying, long-term washing and purification. After removing and cleaning many things, the thing that appears is your most important thing and the most extreme thing.
What will be removed by fading away? It is nothing more than attachment and habits. Although a practitioner knows that there is nothing to gain and nothing to obtain, he still has to work hard with habits and persistent nature along the way.
All kinds of pain, discomfort, and lack of relief are only caused by the habit of clinging to the distinction between circumstances.
Therefore, washing yourself thoroughly and revealing the purest essence is practice.
When ordinary people live in this world, they are constantly piling up all kinds of things for themselves. In the end, they no longer remember what they look like and cannot see clearly.
As for us cultivators, we have to do the opposite. We have to wash away all the beauty through worldly sentiments and desires to reveal our pure appearance. We have to take off the clothes and keep them clean. We should keep rinsing and rinsing to wash away the dirt, obsessive habits, and superfluous thoughts. Only when we are completely naked and can no longer be washed away will our true colors appear.
I asked: So, are these procedures and steps the same for everyone?

He said: Of course it is different. Everyone has his own rhythm, his own characteristics and causes. Some people become enlightened first and then get rid of their habits. Some people spend their whole life getting rid of their habits and finally realize their enlightenment. Some people seem to have no enlightenment but spend their lives getting rid of discrimination. Every practitioner has his own path, which is different. The only thing
has in common is that there is no end to practice. Don't stop just because you think you have gained something.
In addition to the three words of habit, although it seems simple, it actually contains generosity, meditation, diligence, patience, a balance of blessings and wisdom, etc. It is a systematic project, a very huge interlocking system project, but it is such a simple system because once the key is opened, everything will be opened.
The master said this, then stood up to say goodbye and walked out the door. I asked my friend where did you invite the mage from? He shook his head and said: I don’t know, I just met him on the road and invited him to offer me a cup of tea by chance.
