The Buddha said: "Six Mortal and Four Saints"Ten Dharma Realms. Buddhist saints divided Buddha and sentient beings into ten categories according to their different life levels.

The Ten Dharma Realms refer to the Dharma Realm of Hell, the Dharma Realm of Hungry Ghosts, the Dharma Realm of Animals, the Dharma Realm of Asuras, the Dharma Realm of Humans, the Dharma Realm of Heaven, the Sravaka Dharma Realm, the Pratyekabuddha Dharma Realm, the Bodhisattva Dharma Realm and the Buddha Dharma Realm. The first six items are called the Six Mortals, and the last four are called the Six Mortals and the Four Saints. Together they are called the Six Mortals and the Four Saints.

The four saints refer to the four saints’ statuses: Buddha, Bodhisattva, Pratyekabuddha, and Sravaka. They are eternally separated from life and death, and will no longer travel back and forth in the six paths. They are the four kinds of saints who transcend the world. The six ordinary realms refer to the six realms of heaven, humans, asuras, animals, hungry ghosts and hells, which are the confused realms of ordinary people. They are what we usually call " the six realms". Since sentient beings in the six realms do not have a clear mind and see their nature, they cannot transcend life and death, so they have been reincarnated in the six realms.
How are the different phases of the ten Dharma Realms established? The Avatamsaka Sutra says: If people want to understand all the Buddhas of the three times, they should observe the nature of the Dharma Realm. Everything is created by the mind. That is to say, all physical objects are felt by people's thoughts. Doing evil and doing good are all retributions for good and evil that are dominated by the heart. They are also the consequences of karma caused by the dominance of the heart.

The Ten Dharma Realms are not created by God, nor are they given by gods. They are created by everyone's own efforts. The driving force is the cause of karma done now, and the Dharma Realm is the result of karma that will be felt in the future. The causes of karma created by each person are not equal, so the results of karma are also different, so there are differences in the Ten Dharma Realms.
