Children's reading, the first thing to do is to fully consider and respect the child's interests and feelings.
In front of the bookshelf, children who like books will recognize them by themselves, and even if they don’t like books they open for him to read, they will push them away. Like adults, children have different personalities and different reading tastes. Of course, children’s expression of fun reading is not so clear and fixed, and new migration is likely to occur in a short period of time. Parents may wish to pay attention to their children's reading preferences in a specific period and choose the corresponding reading materials based on this.
Generally speaking, gamebooks with strong operability are more popular in the early childhood stage. In addition to various audiobooks, many children also like to watch peek-seeing games. Some of these reading materials design hidden subpages on each page, and open the corresponding cover to discover hidden content. Some allow children to observe and guess the content behind the small holes left on the page. After turning to the next page, the answer will naturally be revealed, just as interesting as hide-and-seek in the game of hide-and-seek.
Sometimes, children may only like a certain part of a book. It's fine. Respect your child's feelings. As children grow up, their interests will gradually expand, but in the initial stages, respecting their likes is an important foreshadowing for them to fall in love with reading.
Familiar. The more familiar a book is, the more willing the child to read it repeatedly. This is because for children, reading is not only an act of receiving and learning new information, but also an activity that can gain a sense of pleasure, attachment and stability from it. This is very important for the physical and mental development of infants and young children.
When a book becomes a familiar object for children, just like the toys, electrical appliances, people, and spaces they are familiar with, it will become one of the fulcrums for children to build the stability of their own world. Every time a child looks over, what he sees and expects is consistent, which will bring him a sense of satisfaction and a sense of security.
So, in the early stages of children's reading, we do not recommend frequently changing books on bookshelf. Whenever the child is familiar with and likes a new book, put it on the bookshelf and do not take away the original book casually unless the child clearly states that he wants to replace it. Gradually, this bookshelves will become a cute space for children, with a familiar and friendly atmosphere. Gradually, books will become such a familiar and intimate object in the child’s heart.
