At noon today, I took my nine-month-old baby to an early education class. During the class, I did three activities, one was to let the baby sit on the adult's lap and shake with the music; the other was to let the baby grab the small clip on his body; the third was to pull the baby around with a bath towel. During the whole process, Xiaobao had no idea what to do, and just wanted to climb to where he wanted to go.
I think the early education teacher’s judgment of the child is correct. Xiaobao is impatient and has poor concentration. As for the response, they said that the child should not disturb him when he plays by himself, and that delays and ask him to wait. Of course, the institution still recommends their early education classes.
Not disturbing children is beneficial to cultivating concentration, I have known this for a long time. But delayed gratification is not appropriate for nine-month-old babies. Afterwards, I checked some information and it was indeed inappropriate. While listening to psychology class, Teacher Song Xuan said, "Give him whatever he wants before he is one year old." I agree with this statement that the premise of delaying satisfaction is full satisfaction. Try to meet the needs of your child before the age of three, and then request delayed satisfaction after the age of three.
Back to the topic of early education, the teachers in the institution have some experience in raising children, but it is not good to have some knowledge and use some concepts regardless of the situation. How long is the right time to start with delayed gratification? Everyone is welcome to leave a message.
