In recent years, with the development of society and economy, people's pursuit of beauty has become increasingly stronger, and the cosmetics market has gradually shown a trend of continuous growth and aging, and has derived children's cosmetics categories. Children's cosmetics refer to cosmetics suitable for children under 12 years old (including 12 years old) and have the effects of cleaning, moisturizing, body smoothing, sun protection, etc. Products that indicate that the product users include children's products such as "applicable to the whole population" and "use the whole family" or use trademarks, patterns, homophones, letters, Chinese pinyin, numbers, symbols, packaging forms, etc., are also managed according to children's cosmetics.

In recent years, with the development of society and economy, people's pursuit of beauty has become increasingly stronger, and the cosmetics market has gradually shown a trend of continuous growth and aging, and has derived children's cosmetics categories. Children's cosmetics re - DayDayNews

According to relevant statistics, at least 50 million children use cosmetics in my country every year. It is estimated that the market share of children's cosmetics has reached nearly 5 billion yuan, and it is showing an increasing trend year by year. On the market, there are a wide range of children's cosmetics such as lip gloss , lipstick, blush, nail polish, eye shadow, glitter powder, contouring cream, powder , and puff. Some e-commerce companies also sell them in the form of children's cosmetics combination sets, with considerable sales. At the same time, the children's cosmetics market has also exposed some problems, such as producing children's cosmetics without an production license, forging factory names and addresses, illegal addition of hormones and anti-infectious drugs, claiming "food-grade" cosmetics, and selling "makeup toys" are easily regarded as children's cosmetics, etc., which is not conducive to the safety and health of children.

Summer is approaching, and many parents have made arrangements to take their children to participate in outdoor activities and enjoy parent-child interaction. Some children's cosmetics that have cleaning, moisturizing, and refreshing effects, especially sun protection, have been included in the parents' shopping list. In order to help parents correctly understand, purchase and use children's cosmetics and ensure the safety of children's makeup, China Consumers Association and the Cosmetics Development Working Committee of the China Health Association made the following consumer tips:

(I) Pay attention to the efficacy category when purchasing children's cosmetics. Infants and young children under 3 years old should not use "makeup". Compared with adults, , children under 12 years old (inclusive), especially infants under 3 years old, have immature skin barrier function, are susceptible to external stimuli, have poor defense ability, and are also susceptible to bacterial infection. These skin characteristics determine that there are more special considerations for children's cosmetic formulas. Not only are children's cosmetics different from adult cosmetics, but the cosmetics used by infants and young children under 3 years old are not exactly the same as those used by children aged 3 to 12 years old.

The "Cosmetic Classification Rules and Classification Catalog" issued by the State Food and Drug Administration stipulates that the efficacy of cosmetics used by children aged 3 to 12 is claimed to include cleaning, makeup removal, moisturizing, beauty modification, aroma, hair care, sun protection, repair, soothing, and body waking; while the efficacy of cosmetics used by infants aged 0 to 3 is claimed to be limited to cleaning, moisturizing, hair care, sun protection, soothing, and body waking. It can be seen that the efficacy of cosmetics used by infants and young children aged 0 to 3 does not include "makeup" categories such as beauty modification and makeup removal. To this end, parents should not buy "makeup" for infants and young children under the age of 3. If the makeup cosmetic label claims that infants and young children under the age of 3 are available, it is illegal.

(II) You should choose a qualified regular merchant to purchase children's cosmetics, carefully read the labels and verify product information, and identify the "Little Golden Shield" logo . When consumers purchase children's cosmetics, they should first carefully check the operator's business license and other qualifications, choose regular merchants with complete certificates and licenses to conduct transactions, and retain invoices, receipts and other shopping vouchers. Secondly, try to choose brands and products with high popularity and good consumer evaluation, and carefully read the label label information on the product packaging, especially product ingredients, efficacy, user population, production date and shelf life, precautions, etc. Finally, to check the product registration or filing information. Children's cosmetics are generally "makeup" and can be checked through the website of the National Medical Products Administration (https://www.nmpa.gov.cn/) or the cosmetics supervision APP to verify the authenticity of product information.

It should be noted that the cosmetic packaging is marked with the "Little Golden Shield" logo, which only means that the product belongs to children's cosmetics and is different from adult cosmetics, toys and other products. It does not mean that the product has been approved by the regulatory authorities or has been certified for quality and safety.

(III) Parents should actively monitor their children's use of children's cosmetics and stop using them immediately if they have discomfort. should ensure that children use children's cosmetics under the supervision of their parents in accordance with the usage methods marked on the label or instructions. It is recommended to check the quality of children's cosmetics before each use. If you check whether it is within the shelf life, whether the product has changed its properties, such as discoloration, oil and water separation, mold spots, or odor, it should be stopped. When a child uses a certain type of children's cosmetics for the first time, it is recommended to do a "skin test" first, choose a small amount, dilution or local trial to see if there will be adverse reactions. If there is no abnormality, then use it normally.

If allergic reactions or discomfort symptoms occur during the use of children's cosmetics, you should stop using it immediately. If the reactions and symptoms are mild, you can use clean water to clean the applied cosmetics on the skin and observe the child's recovery; if the reactions and symptoms are serious or the cosmetics on the skin have not improved after cleaning the cosmetics on the skin, you can bring the cosmetic product and outer packaging to the dermatology department of the hospital for treatment and tell the doctor about the process and details of the adverse reactions to the cosmetics.

(IV) There is no "food-grade" cosmetics, and there is a safety risk when mistakenly taking food into cosmetics. Recently, some businesses have used certain raw materials that can be used to produce "food" when producing cosmetics, so they took the opportunity to call such cosmetics "food-grade" cosmetics, implying that parents are safer to use such cosmetics for children. In fact, cosmetics and food are two different categories of products. According to different regulations, different product standards, raw material requirements, production conditions, etc. are applicable. There is no so-called "food-grade" cosmetics at all. To evaluate whether cosmetics are safe, it is necessary to evaluate the safety of their raw materials, and also to evaluate product formula, production process, usage method, storage conditions, etc. To this end, Article 13, Paragraph 2 of the "Regulations on Supervision and Administration of Children's Cosmetics" clearly stipulates that "children's cosmetic labels shall not be marked with words such as 'food-grade', 'edible' or food-related patterns."

In daily use, if occasionally a small amount of qualified children's cosmetics such as lipstick and lipstick are licked, you don't have to worry too much, because this intake is small and is generally within the safe allowable range. However, if a child mistakes children's cosmetics for large amounts as food, it may lead to health risks. If discomfort symptoms occur, seek medical treatment in time.

Strictly distinguish children's cosmetics from toys, and do not use makeup toys as children's cosmetics. Children's cosmetics and toys are two different categories of products. They are managed according to different laws and regulations, and their management measures and requirements are also different. Currently, some products such as "children's dressing tables" or "baby dressing tables" composed of eyeshadows, blush, lipsticks, nail polishes, etc. are very popular in the market. In fact, many of these products are "cosmetic toys" produced by toy manufacturers for decoration only for dolls and other decorations. They are only produced and inspected in accordance with the production standards and quality inspection standards of toys. They have not completed the registration or filing of products with the drug supervision department in accordance with the law and are not managed as children's cosmetics. Products such as "lipstick toys" and "blush toys" produced according to the standard of general toy product may contain substances that are not suitable for use as raw materials for cosmetics, such as colorants with relatively high safety risks. If used as cosmetics, it may irritate children's skin. In addition, this type of "makeup toy" may also have the problem of excessive heavy metals exceeding the standard, such as excessive lead, and excessive lead can damage multiple systems of the body after being absorbed and affect children's intellectual development. To this end, when purchasing for children, parents must distinguish children's cosmetics from makeup toys.

Finally, parents should be reminded to actively guide their children to establish correct aesthetic views, advocate more about their children's pursuit of natural and healthy beauty, and avoid their children's excessive dependence on cosmetics.
