This test is for children aged 4-6. My son is only one week away from the age of four, so he signed up for him. In the
test, young children need to complete behavioral tests related to oral and reading abilities.
One of them is to test the vocabulary of young children. The words and words on one page are just wrong. As the youngest, he only missed one word!

All parents hope that their children will become dragons, and their daughters will become phoenixes, and so do I. At the same time, I don’t have the “courage to ignore”, and even I studied psychology ( developmental psychology direction) just to discipline my children well.
After reading a lot of literature and books, I concluded that whether a child is smart when he grows up is highly related to the vocabulary he can master. Of course, it is not just the vocabulary itself, but the essence is the concept and content behind the vocabulary.
language is a tool for children's brain to understand and think about the world, and is the main building material for forming the inner world - in the future, will there be groups of palaces or scattered brick and tile houses in his inner world, and the vocabulary is the key.
To increase vocabulary, reading is a hurdle that cannot be avoided; to read, literacy is also an important prerequisite. After all, relying on parents alone will greatly limit the amount of reading for children.
In this process, I tried many methods, such as Feng's literacy method, three, four, five literacy method, sticking words on furniture, playing games with word cards, etc., but none of them can make my children interested for a long time, except for watching animations.
However, the mainstream voices in the education industry have always been not recommended for children before 3 years old to watch videos. I hesitated for a long time before starting to do the following method. If you object to children's viewing electronic products, you need to use my method with caution when you use it, or adjust it according to your actual situation.

Step 6, select the right learning tool to stimulate children's interest in reading
1. Select the right animation video.
Find a few educational cartoons for your children to choose. My personal recommendations: Peppa Pig (closely combined with daily life), Super Wing (geographic knowledge + team mutual assistance), Wangwang team (safety and division of labor), etc. If your family is a girl, you can choose , Little Pony, , etc.
Many experts will not recommend children before the age of 3 to see electronic products. I personally don't agree with it. I started to let him see it since he was 1.5 years old.
watching animation can provide many perceptual factors such as vision, auditory, time series and spatial sense at the same time. The richness of stimulation is second only to the actual scene, provided that parents have the time and energy to take their children out frequently, and watch the speech and explanation while watching.
2.Select synchronous picture book.
Before I choose cartoons, I will search online for any synchronized picture books. If there is one, I will choose it. If there is no one, I will change the cartoon.
Another important purpose of letting children watch animations is to make children interested in picture books.If he likes the cartoon of "Peppa Pig", then he will naturally be interested when he sees picture books with the same animation image.
At the same time, the picture book content and animation content are synchronized. The animation is dynamic and visual presentation cannot be further understood by children. Picture books can be used to deeply interpret and understand words.
Because of the previous animation, children are more interested and are already quite familiar with the content. Children are more dedicated to listening or watching, and they will also form a 1+12 learning effect with the animation.
2. "Question and literacy method" to read together with parent-child. The purpose of this step
is to let the child become familiar with the content, and through body temperature, let the child gradually practice the pronunciation and shape of the objects he knows and learn to recognize words.
Generally speaking, let children watch animations for about 20 minutes during the day, and read the picture books in conjunction with animations at night. I read a picture book in a concentrated manner every night, two or three times at a time. First, you can interpret the pictures in depth, and then read the text of the article. After reading
After reading it a few times, I began to try to ask questions. The question at this time is different from the question based on meaning for older children. Instead, I will empty out the key content in the picture book and guide the child to answer.
For example, the original words in the picture book are: Peppa Pig is a four-year-old girl from the UK. When I read "from", I will deliberately elongate my voice, and then wait for him to answer the word "UK", and when he answers it, I will encourage him.
When the child is familiar with the content, I will let him look at the picture book and read it word by word to him, trying to make him correspond to the content in his memory with the text.
Then, like the previous question, looking at the text, I stopped when I read "from", and then pointed to "UK" and let him recognize it, and he would read "UK" by himself. In this way, I would gradually recognize more and more words.
3. Apply to what you learn in life, deepen your understanding, and increase your interest
In any life where your child is interested in, we can find words, especially words that children have learned. Toy instructions, subway and bus stop names, various supermarket signs, etc. If children can use the words they have learned in these scenarios, they will not only deepen their understanding but also enhance their interest in learning characters.
At the beginning, every time I went to a scene, I would point out the indicative words in the surrounding scene to him, especially those indicative words with his cognition.
For example, this is the "toilet", this is the "male", that is the "female". When we enter the toilet, the mother enters the girl and we enter the boy.
For example, when doing escalator , let him watch "pay attention to safety under his feet" and so on. He will find that the original words are closely related to his life.
Because the child has been working hard to explore the environment, when he finds that words can help him better understand the environment and interact with the environment more conveniently, this is a great motivation for learning.
For example, every time I go to Lego class, during the classroom task introduction, other students are still waiting for the teacher to tell themselves what to do in this class. My son understands it very quickly because he can understand the text of the classroom PPT, so he is very happy because he is often praised by the teacher.
Later, whenever you reach any one, the child's attention is often attracted by the surrounding texts, and he reads and studies by himself, and asks if he doesn't understand. The words in the names of all subway stations in Beijing were learned by him one by one by one, and the price was that he had to take the subway every day for a while.
This is the power of interest!
4. Make picture books a ladder for children to make progress
When my son’s word recognition amount is about 100-200 words (about 2 years old), I started looking for some very simple picture books. Basically, he could recognize all the words on it, and then let him read it to us. We listened and responded very carefully, making the child feel that reading the picture books is a very fulfilling thing.
Slowly, there are more and more words on picture books.Now, the thickest picture book I read is Qianyu Qianxun, who has more than 100 pages. I am very excited to read it myself. The longest time I read it out loud for half an hour, and I know more than 90% of the words.

This is the four-step literacy method I used to teach my son to read.
In the entire process of teaching him to recognize words, there has never been a time when he is forced to recognize words. He is completely interested. There are three main things we do: choose the right video and picture books to stimulate interest; insist on reading picture books to children in combination with the question method every night; discover the scenes used in life and apply what we have learned.
