On December 27, The Paper News reporter learned from Alibaba that the foundation of the Beijing headquarters of Alibaba Group was officially laid. For Alibaba, this is a landmark moment for Alibaba's "Beijing + Hangzhou" dual-center and dual-headquarters strategy and a new milestone for Alibaba's cooperation with Beijing.

According to The Paper, the Beijing headquarters of Alibaba Group is located in the North Expansion Area of Chaoyang Park, Zhongguancun, covering an area of 186 acres with a total construction area of 470,000 square meters. The investment is 6.4 billion yuan and it is planned to be completed in 2024. At the ceremony, Zhang Yong, Chairman and CEO of Alibaba Group, and the heads of Beijing and Chaoyang District jointly laid the foundation for the new park.

Alibaba Group officially launched the "Hangzhou + Beijing" dual center and dual headquarters strategy in 2016. In October 2018, the Beijing Municipal Government sent the city's first corporate service package to Alibaba. Up to now, Alibaba's main core businesses have all landed in Beijing, covering areas such as technology, finance, e-commerce, entertainment, health, logistics, and new consumption.
