Following the implementation of the Schengen Agreement in the 1990s, many continental European countries have no border controls or stops between them. This means that the 5G connection of a vehicle traveling from Forbach, France or Schengen, Luxembourg to Germany will be handed over to the new 5G operator across the border without having to stop. In this new trial funded by EU , Deutsche Telekom is handing over 5G signals from France's Orange and PostLuxembourg networks to its network in Germany. The project uses cloud infrastructure based on mobile edge computing , embedded in in mobile networks to support low-latency communications and computing for mission-critical services.
