The last time we saw a new Google Play store logo was back in 2016, when Play Movies Music, TV and Newsstand were still alive. Six years later, the Google Play Store finally has a new logo. The new Google Play Store logo currently appears in some places on the service, and the graphic remains largely unchanged, still a triangle, so where are the changes?

The corners are more rounded compared to the current logo. On the other hand, the four colors used in the logo are now more consistent with those used by Google, the blues and greens are less vivid, and the internal partitions have been adjusted so that all elements have more space.

This icon is currently a low-resolution version and only appears on GPay and Google Pay. The new icon will only appear when performing a transaction on the Google Play Store, such as adding money to an account. It doesn't appear anywhere in the app itself, so we'll still have to wait and see if this new design will eventually make its way to the home interface.

As of this writing, there is no clear answer as to when Google will roll out the new Google PLay store logo. The service recently got rid of the Movies & TV tab, and we may soon be saying goodbye to Books as well, which would make the Play Store a place where you can only download games and apps.
