In the latest edition of Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman said that the feature will include support for new lock screen widgets in iOS 16 that can be used for weather, fitness, and more.

Gurman wrote: "Just like Apple Watch, iPhone 14 Pro will be able to display widgets for weather, calendar, stocks, activities and other data while the screen remains low brightness and low frame rate ", "And it will provide users with a new feature like Apple Watch - preventing sensitive data from appearing on the lock screen to prevent others from seeing it."

AOD may also display content such as time, date and unread notifications.

IT House learned that Apple has adopted the AOD display mode starting from Apple Watch Series 5, because the industry believes that Apple is likely to let users enable or disable the AOD always-on display mode of iPhone 14 Pro through the settings application.

As Gurman mentioned, the iPhone 14 Pro's AOD feature can be combined with "lower brightness" and "lower refresh rate" to extend battery life. It is worth mentioning that Apple introduced the ProMotion feature on the iPhone 13 Pro models, which allows the screen to drop to 1Hz when idle to save power.
