Supercomputing is known as the “heavy weapon of the country” and has now become an important driving force for social progress. With the rise of new technologies such as AI and big data, the supercomputing industry has developed from computationally intensive to data-intensive. As a highly competitive private enterprise in the field of global information and communication technology, Huawei has long-term strategic investment in the supercomputing industry and has deep technical accumulation. Hunan University has accumulated rich experience in supercomputing applications, and has established a stable and mutual trust cooperation mechanism with Huawei in the fields of data storage and machine vision products.

In October this year, Huawei united 11 units including Hunan University, and Shanghai Jiaotong University to establish a data-intensive supercomputing working group, aiming to build consensus in the industry and unite the power of “government-industry-university-research-application” to promote data-intensive domestic production. The construction of supercomputing system software and application ecology, and the implementation of data-intensive application demonstrations, will help the development of China's computing power economy.

According to the cooperation agreement, the two parties will establish a long-term, stable and sustainable industry-university-research partnership for the domestic self-developed parallel file system, computing power Internet, intelligent storage system, and math library optimization in the field of data-intensive supercomputing.
