2022 European Masters Qualifying Tournament kicked off last night and this morning. Four players from China played, namely Yan Bingtao , Pang Junxu , Peng Yisong and Wu Yize. It included a civil war between Yan Bingtao and Pang Junxu, with Yan Bingtao winning 5-2. Young player Wu Yize played against Kendrick, scoring 88, 58, 51 and 97 points on a single stroke, defeating Kendrick 5-3. Peng Yinsong, who had his first professional match, had a bad start and was unfortunately eliminated. Among the TOP16, Mark Williams , Karen Wilson also appeared, and they all successfully advanced.
Wu Yize
Yan Bingtao and Peng Yisong both came from CBSA World Snooker Academy. Peng Yisong just obtained professional qualifications in May this year, and this is his professional debut. Although it is a pity that he lost, he obtained the professional qualification by ranking first in China. I believe that he can make a breakthrough soon after adapting to the rhythm of the competition.
Yan Bingtao is currently ranked 15th in the world. His best result so far is the championship of the 2021 Snooker Masters. Last season, he played in the finals of the Snooker German Masters against fellow CBSA World Snooker Academy players. Brothers and Zhao Xintong unfortunately lost and won the runner-up. After a holiday break, Yan Bingtao won the first game of the season with scores of 83, 96, and 74 points on a single stroke, sounding the clarion call for the new season.
Yan Bingtao failed to find his touch in the first game and lost 45-59. In the second game, Yan Bingtao still failed to find his rhythm and lost 50-68, falling behind by two games. In the third game, Yan Bingtao found his form, scoring 83 points on a single stroke, and Pang Junxu was able to get back into the game with a clean sheet. In the fourth game, Yan Bingtao played piecemeal and won another game 60-5, and the two sides tied at 2-2.
In the fifth game, Yan Bingtao launched a counterattack, scoring 96 points on a single shot and achieving a lead of 117-0. In the sixth game, Yan Bingtao seized the advantage and played side defense, but Pang Junxu couldn't find a chance. In the end, Yan Bingtao won another game 77-0, leading 4-2. In the seventh game, Yan Bingtao had no chance for Pang Junxu to counterattack. He scored 74 points in a single stroke and ended the game 78-43, successfully advancing 5-2.
Yan Bingtao’s old friend and old rival Zhao Xintong will also play against Patrick tomorrow afternoon. I wish him good luck and look forward to another peak showdown between the two. There are 6 other Chinese players playing, namely Xiao Guodong, Fu Jiajun, Zhang Anda, Chang Bingyu and Xu Si and Lu Haotian from CBSA World Snooker Academy. Tomorrow will also usher in a civil war, Xiao Guodong VS Xu Si. In addition to Zhao Xintong, and Barry Hawkins will play in the TOP16.
