Songjiang Visited Zhu Binchao and listened to him telling the story of the research and development of my country's first photography zoom lens.
I and Mr. Ma Zhengkang from Haiou Home and Mr. Fu from Shanghai Yuxing Company visited Haiou Company in Songjiang. With the recommendation of Li Dongchen, the former director of the office, he visited Mr. Zhu Binchao, the former director of the Technical Center of the Shanghai Shopping General Factory. Mr. Zhu is also one of the members of the 35-70/3.5 zoom lens R&D team of the Shanghai Shopping Factory. This lens is the first zoom lens developed in my country.
This lens is placed in the display cabinet of Haiou Home. There were three shots that year, and this lens was No. 002.
Mr. Zhu said that this lens was used intermittently for several years from project establishment to trial production success, including Liao Rongde, who was responsible for the design of the structural part. The task was issued by the state in 1981. However, due to the closed objective conditions at that time, he did not have a deep understanding of the zoom lens, and there was very little reference and reference materials. It was still very difficult to cross the river by feeling the stones.
At that time, there was no computer, and all the data was calculated manually, so the progress was very slow. When the design was finally completed, I encountered difficulties during the trial processing. The equipment of the Shangzhao factory could not bear the processing of the main parts of the zoom thread cylinder, so I had to entrust a precision instrument company to do it. As a result, three small parts of the car cost 3,000 yuan, which was a huge amount of money at that time.
From 1984, after various difficulties, my country's first zoom lens finally came out. The subsequent tests and evaluations met the design standards and were successful!
However, this lens was not produced in large quantities. The main reason is that the project was not carefully considered. The zoom range of 35-70 was not large, and the constant aperture (double ring) of F3.5 was also the F3.5. Although the image quality was improved, the processing difficulty increased, the production cost increased, and the market price competitiveness decreased. At that time, the original equipment of the Shanghai Shopping Factory could not meet the standards. It would cost a lot of money to add high-precision equipment.
This lens is a double adjustment ring design with a constant aperture, and its size is still slightly larger. Recently, the focus distance of 0.6 meters lacks macro function, but it is optically conservative and rigorous. It uses an MD bayonet to match the Seagull DF SLR camera.
Since this lens was not produced, not many people know it. Although it seems to be a very ordinary lens now, it is a big step taken by the Shanghai Photo Factory and even my country's optical industry. It has great historical value and very high collection value!
