Since August this year, the mainland has suffered epilepsy from the giant panda "Tuantuan" and during the examination, brain lesions and necrosis were also found. Although Taipei Zoo used drug treatment methods for " Tuantuan " and returned to normal, the park even thought of reappearing and accepting visits from Taiwanese people.
However, according to relevant reports from Taiwan media, starting from October 16 this year, the giant panda "Tuantuan" has once again experienced weakness in the hind limbs, decreased appetite, increased rest time, and some problems have also occurred during training.
After observation, it was found that the daily intake, defecation and mobility of "Tuantuan" continued to decline, less than half of the level of her health period. Even her movements were affected to a certain extent, and her weight loss occurred.
So "Tuantuan" and received another brain examination on the morning of October 22.
passed the examination and the brain lesions were shown on the giant panda "Tuantuan" MRI image. In addition to the previous lesions, the lesion area increased significantly, and the appearance of a lump was also detected. After expert analysis, it was believed that the probability of "Tuantuan" suffering from malignant tumors was very high. Although it failed to enter the invasive section examination, it was not 100% confirmed.
Taipei Zoo said that considering the recent clinical manifestations of "Tuantuan" and the prolonged recovery time found during the last examination, it was decided not to perform anesthesia or invasive examination on "Tuantuan". Protecting "Tuantuan" body will be the priority and conservative treatment will be adopted to take care of "Tuantuan" in a conservative manner.
Taipei Zoo pointed out that the veterinarians who care for "Tuantuan" now treat "Tuantuan" related drugs every day and infusions are used to replenish water. The breeder also adds nutritional benefits to "Tuantuan" such as protein , vitamin E, vitamin B group, and dietary fiber to their daily rations, and increases the number of times of feeding water. In addition, when making "Tuantuan" ingredients, he also specially puts more foods it likes to encourage it to eat more to better maintain daily consumption.
Taipei Zoo stated that in order to take into account the "Tuantuan", the relevant departments and medical teams of the zoo conducted evaluation based on the current indicators of "Tuantuan"'s mobility, self-care ability, eating ability, perceived behavior and overall condition. The results shown are still acceptable.
In response to this, Taipei Zoo also called on the Taiwanese people to cheer for "Tuantuan" through different methods. It also specially set up a special area at the exit of the Panda Pavilion of Taipei Zoo, allowing visitors to send blessings to "Tuantuan". It hopes that through everyone's protection and companionship, "Tuantuan" can recover health as soon as possible and appear in front of everyone as soon as possible.

, and the DPP authorities have not made any expression of this incident so far.
In April 2005, then chairman of the Kuomintang, , Lian Zhan , visited the mainland, creating a new situation of cross-strait exchanges. In order to release goodwill, the mainland decided to give two giant pandas to Taiwan. On January 28, 2006, on the 31st of the Lunar New Year, after voting by more than 100 million viewers in mainland China, "Tuantuan" and "Yuanyuan" stood out from dozens of pre-selected names and became the nickname of the giant panda given to Taiwan.
However, due to the continuous obstruction of the DPP authorities at that time, "Tuantuan" and "Yuanyuan" pairs of "friendly messengers" who carry the beautiful meaning of countless Chinese people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait failed to set foot on the land to Taiwan as soon as possible.
Until December 23, 2008, after cross-strait relations began to thaw, "Tuantuan" and "Yuanyuan" finally came to Taiwan and officially appeared in front of the Taiwanese people. So far this year, they have lived in the attention of Taiwanese people and have lived for a full 14 years.
