In the animal world, most animals are basically polygamous, such as lions and tigers. From this point of view, humans are actually very "alternative". The primate species that are relatively close to human blood are basically polygamous.
For example, in the orangutan population, the leader is usually a male orangutan, that is, the "husband" in polygamous, with great power, and all female orangutans will become his wife.
Why are humans so "alternative"?
Simply put, because human cubs are too difficult to raise. What many people don’t know is that human babies are actually “ premature babies ”. During upright walking, the female pelvic bone becomes smaller, and the baby must be born without developing and mature, otherwise it is easy to have difficult labor.
premature babies mean that human babies are very fragile. This is why it takes about a year for human babies to walk, and most animals can walk and even run shortly after they are born.
At the same time, "premature baby" has made it more difficult to raise. If all raising tasks are left to the mother, the survival rate of "premature baby" will inevitably be very low, which is not conducive to the inheritance of human genes, so the father must participate.
There is another point that humans are also very "alternative", that is: humans do not have a fixed "estrus period", or humans may "estrus" at any time, and women's ovulation period will also be hidden, so men are more likely to get pregnant by being with women for a long time.
Of course, it is also possible to "be pregnant in one go", but the probability is not high. Overall, it takes a long time to reproduce.
Finally, humans are civilized species, which is the biggest difference between humans and animals. Human society has moral and legal constraints and basic moral bottom lines, while the animal world is often more barbaric!
