The strong current heavy ion accelerator device (HIAF) project equipment, which is under the responsibility of the Institute of Real Estate, is expected to be launched and installed one after another by the end of this year, and the total project acceptance will be completed by the end of 2025. After the project is completed, it will provide the heavy ion beam with the highest pulse flow strength and the nuclear mass ring spectrometer with the highest accuracy in the world, creating world-class experimental conditions for basic research on nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics in my country; provide an advanced experimental platform for the application research of heavy ion beam ; provide theoretical, method, technology and talent support for nuclear energy development, nuclear safety and the application of nuclear technology .

HIAF is a multidisciplinary heavy ion scientific research device with leading beam current indicators and multidisciplinary use. It started construction in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province in December 2018. After nearly ten years of research, the project team solved a series of technical problems from materials to processes, broke through the core technical bottleneck of HIAF high-frequency system, and broke the technology blockade and product ban on my country by Japan and other countries. On this basis, we jointly built a high-performance magnetic alloy ring automation production demonstration line with independent intellectual property rights with cooperative manufacturers, realizing mass production of magnetic alloy rings.

Recently, the HIAF project successfully developed the first domestic low-frequency, broadband, high-gradient, fast response, oil-cooled magnetic alloy high-frequency system, and completed the core key technology prototypes and first sets of equipment testing of magnetic alloy high-frequency, superconducting magnets, full energy storage power supplies, extremely high vacuum thin-wall vacuum chambers and other systems. The batch processing of some equipment is coming to an end, and a number of breakthrough results have laid the foundation for the smooth progress of the HIAF project. At the same time, breakthroughs have also been made in the mass processing of superconducting magnet system prototypes, first sets and conventional magnets.
